- slorettaoGrand Rapids, MI413 contributionsGreat experience today on the glass bottom boat shipwreck tour. The narration was top notch-we learned the stories of several shipwrecks which were so interesting. We were able to view 4 shipwrecks today ( the number of shipwrecks is very weather dependent-we had calm seas today) both through the viewing windows in the bottom of the boat as well as from the top deck. Polarized sunglasses make for better viewing-we always wear those, but they do sell them onboard for $5. Be aware, you will not see shipwrecks where the boats are completely intact. You will see parts of ships. Keep in mind that at least one of the wrecks is pre-Civil War! Crew was helpful and friendly and answered questions from the passengers. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are sold on board. You are permitted to bring your own, but no coolers, no alcohol. We had a noon cruise and brought sandwiches and water. If you enjoy maritime history or just a pleasant boat ride, this is the trip for you. We enjoyed it so much! And we had a bonus-going out of the bay, we closely passed a huge freighter and were given a loud horn greeting. When we got back in the river, the freighter had moored-we passed it closely-about 20 feet away. Quite a sight!Written August 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LISA CDeWitt, MI283 contributionsMy husband and I took a drive to Alpena and made a stop here. Very clean and well laid out, it was a very nice museum. It is donation based so be sure to leave a little something. It was a rainy day and a nice stop for an hour or so.Written November 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ryan BEast Lansing, MI6 contributionsReally interesting place. Fascinating history and great views. Lovely easy hike to sinkhole. Sinkhole is a nice destination but not spectacular, and other trails away from the main parking lot can be overgrown.Written July 18, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sarah P5 contributionsBeautiful! We loved the BoyScouts created info plaques along the trail. Short hike, less than a mile.Written April 11, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Michael H3 contributionsSaw the outside tables and stopped by. We are glad we did. We did a wine sampling and a nice talk with the owner. After the sampling we enjoyed a nice glass of red and a small bite from the restaurant next door, which they partner with. Great way to spend the afternoon. We also bought two bottles of our favourite wine to take home. We will definitely be back on our next visit.Written November 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- WCFGAlpena, MI18 contributionsHave walked and ridden this path hundreds of times. It skirts around the downtown area(but you have easy access to downtown). Nature- I have seen deer near the trail-turtles-swans-geese-ducks. Ride along the Thunder Bay River.Written August 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Steve JakubcinAlpena, MI78 contributionsA true gem of Alpena. It is one of the places in Alpena where culture, community and the arts collide in our city. The ONLY professional, year-round, non-profit theatre located within 180 miles, Thunder Bay Theatre, continues to become one of the pre-eminent destinations and experiences in all of Northern Michigan.Written April 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Cap_city_galTallahassee, FL124 contributionsStopped in to work on some college classes because of their WiFi. Very clean, well lit and well organized library. I enjoyed sitting upstairs at one of the tables. I was visiting from Florida, and was pleased with this little library.Written August 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - biz_travlr007Detroit metro119 contributionsOk, it's not really hidden because it's the largest building downtown, but make time to stop in and browse! This is a wonderful shop with local artists and historic charm.Written August 31, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Judy HAlpena, MI132 contributionsI grew up swimming at this beach almost daily. Although it is one of the smaller beaches in town, it is my favorite. It has picnic facilities, a beautiful grassy are with shade trees, and a sandy beach. A great place to meet with family & friends to enjoy Lake Huron.Written December 15, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - marybT5775QNBattle Creek, MI243 contributionsAbsolutely loved the Farmers’ Market. We stopped on a Saturday and were pleased with the vendors that were there....probably between 15-20. The fresh veggies we purchased were reasonably priced and all of the vendors were friendly and helpful. We also purchased masks and cinnamon rolls. Yummy! We decided to go back the following Wednesday. We were disappointed that only 6 vendors were there. One of the vendors said that Saturday is the big day and that some of the other vendors go to Oscoda’s Farmers Market on Wednesday. As luck would have it, the cinnamon roll person was there and we were able to purchase a whole plate of cinnamon rolls. Also we were able to get more fresh green beans! And the blueberry crumble pie my daughter’s boyfriend bought was out of this world! Definitely worth a stop to the Farmer’s Market if you happen to be in Alpena on one of the days they are open.Written August 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ed SShepherd, MI101 contributionsOverall it was fun, however it’s very clear the owners are not putting any money into upkeep. The putt putt course was kinda lame go karts were fun. Bumper cars were awesome the fastest cars ever. Most games were not even turned on and there was not enough employees to run all attractions. Batting cages in bad shape. Prices are fair.Written August 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
