- DirectorJohn CrowleyStarsSaoirse RonanEmory CohenDomhnall GleesonAn Irish immigrant lands in 1950s Brooklyn, where she quickly falls into a romance with a local. When her past catches up with her, however, she must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.Beautifully put together and not just how it looks but also in the performances what the film is saying. In the years we have films saying love is bad and be careful who you fall in love with. But this film with the incredible performance by Saoirse Ronan who has a such an old fashion acting ability that makes her character so likable and the film grows on you because of that. So many films follow characters that we can two craps less about and a story that is half baked and so predictable. It was really nice to watch a film that knows to play it smart and don't let clichés ruin the movie this builds off of it being funny, sweet, and overall a very well made old fashioned film that makes it a step above films with an excellent screenplay, brilliant direction, and of course Saoirse Ronan having the best performance of 2015. My favorite film of the year. I love it.
10/10 - DirectorAdam McKayStarsChristian BaleSteve CarellRyan GoslingIn 2006-2007 a group of investors bet against the United States mortgage market. In their research, they discover how flawed and corrupt the market is.Director Adam McKay made his name in comedy for years with the help of Will Ferrell, now he has done something beyond belief. Making a film about the housing crisis both funny and thought provoking that makes the story and events and the film making the stars. Yes Christian Bale is outstanding and comes in all with his character. Steve Carell really couldn't be better he is so good in the moments where he needs to funny and extremely valuable. Ryan Glosing has never been better. And Brad Pitt is you know Brad Pitt. The only problem with the film is that it is a little shoty and the cinematography is not top notch even placed with a New York back drop but that is a minor complaint. Because I take that over bad acting, directing, and editing any day. This is one of the best films of the year.
10/10 - DirectorGeorge MillerStarsTom HardyCharlize TheronNicholas HoultIn a post-apocalyptic wasteland, a woman rebels against a tyrannical ruler in search for her homeland with the aid of a group of female prisoners, a psychotic worshiper and a drifter named Max.The film was with a lot of production problems and even the idea that they are bringing back Mad Max without Mel Gibson was something I myself had a problem with in the beginning.(even tho Mel is a crazy sob) However when you get Tom Hardy to play Mad Max was the best casting choice of 2015. I understand that some might find this movie style over substance. My argument to that is there are so much from the character of Furiosa that because of her cause makes her character so strong and worth routing for. But now I can't wait for the sequels, long nights watching this movie on the tv, and having it here as one of the best films of 2015. This is nothing sort of perfect.
10/10 - DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsEmily BluntJosh BrolinBenicio Del ToroAn idealistic FBI agent is enlisted by a government task force to aid in the escalating war against drugs at the border area between the U.S. and Mexico.Bold, brutal, beautiful, an brilliant in every aspect. This is one hell of a movie.
10/10 - DirectorHiromasa YonebayashiStarsSara TakatsukiKasumi ArimuraNanako MatsushimaAnna, a shy 12-year-old girl, is sent to spend time with her aunt and uncle who live in the countryside, where she meets Marnie. The two become best friends. But Anna gradually discovers that Marnie is not quite who she appears to be.I honestly never thought I would put an animation film as my number one favorite film of any year. The closest an animation film has come even close to my top 5 was Toy Story 3 back in 2010. Recently tho all animation have been stepping up their game even with last year's Oscar Nominated Song of the Sea, which did make my top ten, easily have been a strong point with animation and this is easily been the best we have seen. Along with Marnie this is a film that shows that excellent story telling belongs with rich young characters who haven't found themselves. And this just strengthen the idea of a great adaptation can transfer with characters that you like and can easily relate to. I'm also glad to see this in the original version with the original cast because it just makes it more authentic. Which is rare because I kinda didn't like the American cast voice that where chosen but I fell in love with the Japanese cast voice because of how subtle they talk and how they move with the story it makes it rich. Everyone should see When Marnie Was There more Than once. It is really incredible and heart breaking it will make you cry. Or won't. But I love every minute of this film.
10/10 - DirectorRidley ScottStarsMatt DamonJessica ChastainKristen WiigAn astronaut becomes stranded on Mars after his team assume him dead, and must rely on his ingenuity to find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive and can survive until a potential rescue. This movie had a thing against it. Scott hasn't made a good movies since 2007, Matt Damon hasn't been any good movies lately, and plus with Gravity and Interstellar being big box office hits this movie did not stand a chance. Where Tomorrowland failed in its execution of asking the big question of creativity and what human beings are capable in a realistic way, this movie gets it right in spades. Which Tomorrowland tried to tell but the message got in the way of the actual story it is trying to tell. To me The Martian is actually better than Gravity because the actual tale of survival in space is much more engrossing and engaging than Sandra Bullock. That's not to say that this film did go a little long and the ending chance in the book can be a problem to some. But it is still a really great film, definitely one of Scott better directed film and visual amazing. This is one of those movies that will not be forgotten and I believe it will hold up which Gravity got worst as a film more times I watched it. Every actor is brilliant from the moment they step on screen till the movie ends. Love the ending and this a movie that has a full grasped on science with still having that under tone of not giving up. Scott's back and better than ever. Damon has a nuance to his character that we have never seen before. It's filled with fun and excitement throughout the whole way through.
10/10 - DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HardyWill PoulterA frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.
- DirectorDuke JohnsonCharlie KaufmanStarsDavid ThewlisJennifer Jason LeighTom NoonanA man crippled by the mundanity of his life experiences something out of the ordinary.
- DirectorTom McCarthyStarsMark RuffaloMichael KeatonRachel McAdamsThe true story of how the Boston Globe uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church to its core.
- DirectorLenny AbrahamsonStarsBrie LarsonJacob TremblaySean BridgersA little boy is held captive in a room with his mother since his birth, so he has never known the world outside.
- DirectorPete DocterRonnie Del CarmenStarsAmy PoehlerBill HaderLewis BlackAfter young Riley is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco, her emotions - Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness - conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house, and school. It's one of the best Pixar movies to come out in a long time and it's an amazing experience sitting their in the theater viewing the upmost funny and touching animated film to come out this year. It's brilliant charming and all around a movie that captures the perfect emotion of feeling when at a young age everything around you is changing and you can't do anything about it. That is great screen writing.
10/10 - DirectorMatthew HeinemanStarsTim FoleyJosé Manuel 'El Doctor' MirelesPaco ValenciaFilmmaker Matthew Heineman examines the state of the ongoing drug problem along the U.S.-Mexican border.
- DirectorChristopher McQuarrieStarsTom CruiseRebecca FergusonJeremy RennerEthan and his team take on their most impossible mission yet when they have to eradicate an international rogue organization as highly skilled as they are and committed to destroying the IMF.Best Mission Possible movie yet. The action has never been better, the stunts have upscale every movie before this and the man Christopher McQuarrie makes his stamp on how action movies should be written and directed. All thanks to the brilliant cast he has in front of him. This is the best written action movie this year, and even the best acted action film this year because everyone is like able and has a blast watching Tom Cruise doing his the Tom Cruise antics like: running, jumping off of things, driving a motorcycle, hanging from things, fighting a guy who is bigger and taller than him, and of course having beautiful hair. With the addition of Rebecca Ferguson as a bad ass, this is an action movie to remember. Again hats off to everyone who was involved because this is one of the best films of the year.
10/10 - DirectorRyan CooglerStarsMichael B. JordanSylvester StalloneTessa ThompsonThe former World Heavyweight Champion Rocky Balboa serves as a trainer and mentor to Adonis Johnson, the son of his late friend and former rival Apollo Creed.
- DirectorCary Joji FukunagaStarsAbraham AttahEmmanuel AffadziRicky AdelayitorA drama based on the experiences of Agu, a child soldier fighting in the civil war of an unnamed African country.Definitely one of the most toughest movies to watch this year. But that doesn't mean it is a false step towards the movie and it is not because it is gritty and real, it is because they are layers within a movie like this. Big shout out to Abraham Attah the young lead that we travel with and see the world through his eyes. Every scene is filmed with perfection even Cary Joji Fukunaga doing triple duty of directing, writing, and even doing the cinematography captures the three important details you need in a film that has to convince you are watching a real achievement in cinema which has been absent lately and this film is the pure definition of well crafted film and this can be seen as a more cinematic view on this subject the same as War Witch (2012) this can also be related to his first movie Sin Nombre (2009) where it adds a human element to the subject of journey from un sinful joy to bleak discover of what human mortality can take this well written characters. Great movie.
10/10 - DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsSamuel L. JacksonKurt RussellJennifer Jason LeighIn the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters.
- DirectorDeniz Gamze ErgüvenStarsGünes SensoyDoga Zeynep DogusluTugba SungurogluWhen five orphan girls are seen innocently playing with boys on a beach, their scandalized conservative guardians confine them while forced marriages are arranged.
- DirectorCarol MorleyStarsMaxine PeakeMaisie WilliamsFlorence PughIt's 1969 at a strict English girls' school where charismatic Abbie and intense and troubled Lydia are best friends. After a tragedy occurs at the school, a mysterious fainting epidemic breaks out threatening the stability of all involved.Don't believe the IMDb score ok first off this is an incredible debut from Carol Morley who directed an incredible documentary back in 2011, also who gets out brilliant performances from Maisie Williams who is phenomenal in this film. The whole cast is great but this is Maisie's film that centers her great acting and great and believable character that she is portraying. Now yes the film is very ambiguous and leads you to make your own decisions which I hate in most films because it does lead to most accomplishes in the film rather than it looks good. The film goes beyond its surface to make it self better than most indies. Great debut and brilliant story telling through out.
Now yes I am giving it a 9/10 because it is unclear at times where the film is being at points I never took my eyes of the screen. And now yes I have gave better scores but ultimately this is a better film. Than most films on the list and I want it in my top ten - DirectorTodd Strauss-SchulsonStarsTaissa FarmigaMalin AkermanAdam DevineA young woman grieving the loss of her mother, a famous scream queen from the 1980s, finds herself pulled into the world of her mom's most famous movie. Reunited, the women must fight off the film's maniacal killer.
- DirectorAnna BodenRyan FleckStarsBen MendelsohnRyan ReynoldsYvonne LandryDown on his luck and facing financial hardship, Gerry teams up with younger charismatic poker player, Curtis, in an attempt to change his luck. The two set off on a road trip through the South with visions of winning back what's been lost.
- DirectorDanny BoyleStarsMichael FassbenderKate WinsletSeth RogenSteve Jobs takes us behind the scenes of the digital revolution, to paint a portrait of the man at its epicenter. The story unfolds backstage at three iconic product launches, ending in 1998 with the unveiling of the iMac.The movie had a budget of $30 million and made back roughly $22 million. That is the fact, but you will never here this film say it didn't do well because the film wasn't good. There have been articles saying that it's Michael Fassbenders fault and that is completely false this movies rings true in every scene. This is a sharp film that explodes on screen on multiple accounts. First the actual pretrial of Jobs belongs to Fassbender he is the movie. No one steal the shows he shines in more ways than one. That doesn't mean that Kate Winslet is purely stunning being a character tries to sheer Jobs in the right direction, Seth Rogen playing Wozniak makes that character not the center of attention which is brilliant casting and making sure to add a more sympathetic look on him. Jeff Daniels has never been better, the three girls who played his daughters got better and better, Katherine Waterson is ok and Sarah Snook was really underutilized but the film never stops moving and it gets really captivating real fast.
9/10 - DirectorTodd HaynesStarsCate BlanchettRooney MaraSarah PaulsonAn aspiring photographer develops an intimate relationship with an older woman in 1950s New York.
- DirectorRamin BahraniStarsAndrew GarfieldMichael ShannonLaura DernA recently unemployed single father struggles to get back his foreclosed home by working for the real estate broker who is the source of his frustration.
- DirectorBen PalmerStarsLake BellRory KinnearKen StottA single woman takes the place of a stranger's blind date and finds the perfect man for her.
- DirectorSebastian SchipperStarsLaia CostaFrederick LauFranz RogowskiA young Spanish woman who has recently moved to Berlin finds her flirtation with a local guy turn potentially deadly as their night out with his friends reveals a dangerous secret.
- DirectorAntoine FuquaStarsJake GyllenhaalRachel McAdamsOona LaurenceAfter a fatal incident sends him on a rampant path of destruction, a champion boxer fights to get custody of his daughter and revive his professional career.First this is a really good movie that does stand on its own and yes it does have a lot of similarities of a lot of sports movie but just with adding cussing. That is true but it still doesn't stop it for being a raw and truly moving picture that takes you on for one hell of a ride. Big props to Jake because the same as his last movie, Nightcrawler, he does prove that after watching a movie you should walk away from a performance with an emotional uneasy sense of the future of how the character unfolds and he does it perfectly.
10/10 - DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsColin FirthTaron EgertonSamuel L. JacksonA spy organisation recruits a promising street kid into the agency's training program, while a global threat emerges from a twisted tech genius. At first it really sale me I the trailers. Then because of First Class I didn't trust Vaughn with a project like this period. And not knowing who the lead was and was going to write it off as another young adolescent teen wet dream kinda like Wanted, but even more dumber than that film and it was pushed back for it to be a February film. Yea the film had little to offer in the amount of time it was given. That still didn't leave my mind of kinda wanting to see it. So I did and it was so much fun and awesome that being a Kingsman fan now is one big surprise I didn't see coming. This film defines what action comedies should be. This has more energy than Drake more Style than Swift and much more cooler and better ideas than any of the non Bond films. This is a film to be excited for. It doesn't let up or go soft and Vaughn has mad his masterpiece. I truly give this film a 10/10 the church scene alone is magnificent.
- DirectorF. Gary GrayStarsO'Shea Jackson Jr.Corey HawkinsJason MitchellThe rap group NWA emerges from the mean streets of Compton in Los Angeles, California, in the mid-1980s and revolutionizes Hip Hop culture with their music and tales about life in the hood.Being a huge fan of the rap group NWA it is a great pleasure to watch a real film depict a real revelation of words can make an impactment of people. It is a huge task to take this into a time where history was being made by a musician group usually its politicians or leaders who stand up to make a change but this time it is by a group of five guys who just wanted to change the way youths live based on color and where they live. They made a change and the film does not shy away from that. People are prejudiced and judgmental is in people, but none of that is in money, and egos that's what happened to this group and again the film does not shy away from that. This is an event that should not be missed. Glad the worth of mouth the box office is sky high and the way it is just one of the best films of the year. Damn that sh!t was dope.
10/10 - DirectorKyle Patrick AlvarezStarsEzra MillerTye SheridanBilly CrudupIn 1971, twenty-four male students are selected to take on randomly assigned roles of prisoners and guards in a mock prison situated in the basement of the Stanford psychology building.Again a film that is hard to watch but after the film I did read into the real story behind there is actual some real psychology scaring stuff to be read and even the original is very beneath the surface of real horror of a person. Here it is all surface through most of it but it does have a breaking point where outside characters and even some of the characters themselves really see what it means to be isolated in a prison where you are stripped from freedom and where you no longer aply to the outside world. That is a very deep and interesting way to look at these boys as subjects but as it progressive the amount of great actors it includes the film doesn't have a false step with the production. It does get better and better as it goes along.
9/10 - DirectorNoah BaumbachStarsGreta GerwigLola KirkeShana DowdeswellA lonely college freshman's life is turned upside-down by her impetuous, adventurous stepsister-to-be.
- DirectorSeverin FialaVeronika FranzStarsLukas SchwarzElias SchwarzSusanne WuestTwin boys move to a new house with their mother after she has face-changing cosmetic surgery, but under the bandages is someone the boys don't recognize.
- DirectorLeslye HeadlandStarsJason SudeikisAlison BrieJordan CarlosA good-natured womanizer and a serial cheater form a platonic relationship that helps reform them in ways, while a mutual attraction sets in.
- DirectorHsiao-Hsien HouStarsShu QiChang ChenYun ZhouA female assassin receives a dangerous mission to kill a political leader in eighth-century China.
- DirectorJ.J. AbramsStarsDaisy RidleyJohn BoyegaOscar IsaacAs a new threat to the galaxy rises, Rey, a desert scavenger, and Finn, an ex-stormtrooper, must join Han Solo and Chewbacca to search for the one hope of restoring peace.
- DirectorAlex GarlandStarsAlicia VikanderDomhnall GleesonOscar IsaacA young programmer is selected to participate in a ground-breaking experiment in synthetic intelligence by evaluating the human qualities of a highly advanced humanoid A.I.Well, it is something different new and inventive. That is why in its environment it works as a dark science fiction film and as interesting drama that set ups new ideas as this weird film unravels within the last third. Wich can be its faults because the ending is here and there but rich dialogue match with great acting from all the three leads makes this one of the year's best.
9/10 - DirectorNoah BaumbachJake PaltrowStarsBrian De PalmaMark HamillAmy IrvingA documentary about writer and director Brian De Palma.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloWhen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan. It's better than Captai America 2 ok let's get that out of the way because it's funnier faster and more engrossing to each person as we get to know each super hero. These characters work because that is how these movies should be fun big and explosive and a villain that is actually FUN to watch to be bad I hate in superhero movies where they try to have a dark menching villain save that *beep* for actual movies with actual stories and a strong presence, this is how a villain should be a being that can go toe to toe with Tony Stark because they have powers this is not a serious movie. Save the serious villains for much better films. But this is still one of the best movies to come out this year.
10/10 - DirectorMark BurtonRichard StarzakStarsJustin FletcherJohn SparkesOmid DjaliliWhen Shaun decides to take the day off and have some fun, he gets a little more action than he bargained for. A mix up with the Farmer, a caravan and a very steep hill lead them all to the Big City and it's up to Shaun and the flock to return everyone safely to the green grass of home.
- DirectorJon WattsStarsKevin BaconJames Freedson-JacksonHays WellfordA small-town sheriff sets out to find the two kids who have taken his car on a joy ride.
- DirectorScott CooperStarsJohnny DeppBenedict CumberbatchDakota JohnsonThe true story of Whitey Bulger, the brother of a state senator and the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston, who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his turf.
- DirectorSean BakerStarsKitana Kiki RodriguezMya TaylorKarren KaragulianA hooker tears through Tinseltown on Christmas Eve searching for the pimp who broke her heart. It may not be the best film out of Sundance but definitely it is the most fun. Better use of LA than Dope, better realized characters than Me Earl and the dying girl, and just a better film than most films. That is because of Kitana Kiki Rodriguez she is the most fierce and complex character and funniest character. But it is not just her show. Mya Taylor is an excellent counter part of Sin-Dee as being there for and even though this film is all surface unlike Sean Baker's last film, Starlet, this film doesn't have the weight to make this film feel poignant or even bleak in that world but this world is very lively and filled with pulp. Which can be both a positive and a negative. But nevertheless this film rocks.
9/10 - DirectorOlivier AssayasStarsJuliette BinocheKristen StewartChloë Grace MoretzA film star comes face-to-face with an uncomfortable reflection of herself while starring in a revival of the play that launched her career.
- DirectorPaul WeitzStarsLily TomlinJulia GarnerMarcia Gay HardenA teenager facing an unplanned pregnancy seeks help from her acerbic grandmother, a woman who is long estranged from her daughter.

- DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddMichael DouglasCorey StollArmed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, pull off a plan that will save the world. It's still better, funnier, more action packed, and more lively than CA2TWS which is never a bad thing to do. Villain is not as good as he should but this is still a fun movie to watch and never had a boring moment. It still has a lot of flaws that most Marvel movies have but the story and characters make this a step above most of them.

That is definitely to say the less. The Rock does get my vote for cheese grader of the year is no contest. I'm giving a 10/10 for this movie because Paul Walker if you find that ridiculous than you can fu your self because it deserves that score because of Walker.

- DirectorJill BauerRonna GradusStarsTressa SilgueroRiley ReynoldsRachel BernardA documentary about young women who have been drawn into the sex trade - and how easy it is for a web-savvy generation to end up making porn.Give this doc a chance. It directed by two very talented film makers, Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus, who actual see this story as an opportunity to involve human emotions that deal with subject of the porno business. Where young women have the whole life ahead them choose this life style without making it judgemental and seeing how their love ones react to this life style. It does raise interesting questions of how regular day women get into porn so easily because of how entertainment has change. The same way it limits these women working with the men taking advantage of them with both the pay and even to some extent the ordeal of sexual abuse of these women are easily taken advantage of because they are young and inexperienced with how the industry works. This is a truly moving doc that had me intrigued through out the whole film. And congrats on Rashida Jones for giving these filmmakers a chance on this tough subject matter.
8.2/10 - DirectorDavis GuggenheimStarsMalala YousafzaiZiauddin YousafzaiToor Pekai YousafzaiA look at the events leading up to the Taliban's attack on Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai for speaking out on girls' education, followed by the aftermath, including her speech to the United Nations.

- DirectorJim StrouseStarsJemaine ClementRegina HallJessica WilliamsWill Henry is a newly single graphic novelist balancing parenting his young twin daughters and a classroom full of students while exploring and navigating the rich complexities of new love and letting go of the woman who left him.
- DirectorEli RothStarsKeanu ReevesLorenza IzzoAna de ArmasA devoted husband and father helps two stranded young women who knock on his door, but his kind gesture turns into a dangerous seduction and a deadly game of cat and mouse.I do have a soft spot for Eli Roth because he doesn't direct good performances because the actors that he chooses are on porn level. But one thing he is good at is actually getting realistic performances when his characters are put in a dangerous and deadly situation there mannerisms work well as a horror film and that is why this is a film I really enjoy. I think all three performances all across the board are an improvement on most of his movies. His writing takes turns that are totally unbelievable but once you get in this movie there is some real fun to have.
