The American Ruling Class was Bamboozled by a Nineteen-Year-Old Girl . . .

. . . who imitated Steve Jobs by wearing black turtle necks, “dated” her boss who was nineteen years her senior, and whose “revolutionary” business plan that she sold them sounded like valley girl gibberish.  And these are the people who decide whether “we” go to war, “manage” the economy, order us to stay home, wear a mask, don’t go to school, inject mysterious chemicals into our bodies, quarantine, keep six feet apart, bla, bla, bla, bla, because they are smarter than any of us. re: In Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day . . .

I would add to Charles Burris’s Reading list a few things by Civil War historian and Lincoln cultist Eric Foner, a longtime professor at Columbia University, past president of the American Historical Association, and self-described Marxist.  He was an apologist for Soviet communism for decades.  In 1989 a Moscow display of the Soviet gulag system drew a bitter denunciation by Foner who complained of “the obsessive need to fill in the blank pages in the history of the Soviet era” (In John Haynes and Harvey Klehr, In Denial: Historians, Communism, and Espionage, Encounter Books, 2003, p. 40). Here you have a “historian” arguing to not study history because it made communism look bad.

In his 1988 book The Story of American Freedom Foner lavishly praised the Communist Party U.S.A. as a “cultural front that helped to redraw the boundaries of American freedom.”  He also argued that opposition to communism was tyranny.  In a February 11, 1991 article in The Nation magazine entitled “Lincoln’s Lesson” Foner railed against the peaceful secession movements in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Georgia and urged Mikhail Gorbachev to deal with them in the same brutal, waging-war-on-civilians/war-criminal manner that Lincoln did in relation to Southern secessionists in 1861-1865.

He called the impending break-up of the Soviet Union a “crisis” that could destroy the “laudable goal” of Soviet communism.  Such a government, he said was desirable and demanded “overreaching loyalty to the Soviet Union” by Latvians, Lithuanians, etc. just as Lincoln “demanded” overreaching loyalty to himself and his regime.  “No leader of a powerful nation,” wrote Comrade Foner, should allow such a thing as “the dismemberment of the Soviet Union.”  Lincoln created the “consolidation of national authority in the United States,” said Foner, creating a union that was “a permanent government.”  He hoped that “Gorbachev would surely agree” and follow in Lincoln’s footsteps.  (Those footsteps included murdering one-fourth of the adult male population of the Southern states in four years).

I recall reading one of Foner’s speeches in which he regretted that his earlier research was not Marxist enough.

In Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day – Explore the History of Blacks and Reds

In our perilous, chaotic times of Black Lives Matter and George Floyd, it is essential to know the deep background story of the history of Communist apparats/fronts and African-Americans, from the beginning of the Communist Party (and other Marxist-Leninist ideological instrumentalities) attempts to capture and engage the allegiance of Black Americans from 1919 to the present.  Black Lives Matter, Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA)

Native Land -The Pinnacle of Old Left AgitProp

Today everyone is cognizant of the ubiquitous pervasiveness of virulent leftwing propaganda in the media, whether it is on MSNBC, CNN, Democracy Now, NPR, and a wide variety of Woke feature films. But it has not always been that way.

Take a look at this this video version of Native Land (1942) made in the midst of WWII, perhaps the finest (and most insidious) example of Old Left agitprop (agitation/propaganda) of the period. Purportedly the film is a resounding retrospective on the enduring value of freedom and treasured civil liberties but something else is lying beneath the powerful surface visuals and text. Nativist racist bigots, mercenary capitalists and their thuggish strike-breakers are allied in a widespread, clandestine, elaborately organized, sinister conspiracy to install domestic fascism and brutal repression in America. Sound familiar?

Associated with this cinematic production, which Wikipedia described as

“A combination of a documentary format and staged reenactments, the film depicted the struggle of trade unions against union-busting corporations, their spies and contractors. It was based on the 1938 report of the La Follette Committee’s investigation of the repression of labor organizing.”

are among the most noted (and notorious) cavalcade of left-wing talent before and behind the screen, many who were later blacklisted. They include the famous African-American singer, actor, unrepentant Stalinist (and secret CPUSA member) Paul Robeson as narrator and vocalist; Communist Party balladeers Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie; filmmakers Paul Strand and Leo Hurwitz (also associated with The Plow That Broke the Plains); screenwriter Ben Maddow; the American composer, lyricist, and librettist Marc Blitzstein; and the noted character actor (and CPUSA party member) Howard Da Silva.

Black-Robed Deities Ignore the Constitution Again

Reading about the supreme court’s ruling that Senile Joe’s attempt to dictate injections of unknown chemical substances into the bodies of all employees of businesses with more than 100 employees (Repeat after me:  “Our Bodies, Our Choice!”) is a no go, one thing stood out.  According to news reports, the court’s argument was that yes, Congress has given OSHA vast regulatory powers, but not this one.

This suggests that anything is “constitutional” as long as a majority of Congress says so and the current president agrees.  So all Congress now has to do, as long as the Pelosi/Schumer crime families are in charge, is to add a rider to say, a farm bill, that gives OSHA the power to administer forced injections of mysterious, unknown chemicals into every resident of the U.S.  One wonders what James Madison would think of this.

My Thomas Sowell Story

I was asked if I knew Thomas Sowell. Here is my answer to that question:

Yes I know him. I’m an editor of his:

Sowell, Thomas. 1982. “Weber and Bakke and the presuppositions of ‘Affirmative Action,'” Discrimination, Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity, Walter E. Block and Michael Walker, eds., Vancouver: The Fraser Institute, pp. 37-63

Here’s my Thomas Sowell story.

I wrote him asking that he send me an unpublished article or an essay for my forthcoming edited book: Discrimination, Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity

He said he would. But then, when he sent it to me, he said that if I changed even one single word of it, he would not allow me to publish it. (I later learned that he had been burned by editors changing the meaning of what he wrote 180 degrees. He didn’t realize I was a big fan of his, and would never do anything like that. Heck, I wouldn’t do that even to an author of mine with whom I disagreed. When I edit books, sometimes I include people with whom I sharply disagree).

In any case I read his essay with great care. Heck, my editorial dander was up. I found, oh, to my best recollection, maybe a half dozen typographical errors. I wrote him back saying I’d publish what he sent me with the typos remaining in it, but, I’ll really like to correct his typos. Would that be ok? He ok’d that. Whew.

He really deserves a Nobel Prize in economics. He’d have long ago been awarded it were there any justice in the world. But this will not likely ever occur, since his views are not exactly politically correct.

Nothing To “Gain Back” Since We Never Relinquished It

Could we please dispense with the idea and phrasing that The Jab—or anything else, including masks and anti-social distancing—is the “key to gain back our freedoms”? (Thanks to Vinnie Terranova for this link; you may want to investigate the study at it because it demonstrates yet again “an increase of both COVID-19 related cases and death due directly to a vaccine deployment.”)

First, I didn’t relinquish my freedoms—and no one else should have, either. Patriots from the beginning of this plandemic have rejected the totalitarian agenda: we don’t diaper ourselves; we hug old friends and shake hands when meeting new ones; we traveled as we pleased instead of cowering in our homes during “lockdowns.” Those who owned businesses kept them open; those who pastored churches refused to close their doors. So we’ve nothing to “gain back.”

Second, the State neither grants nor revokes our liberties: they are inherent to each of us by virtue of our humanity. Patriots do not cringe in a corner, waiting for that halcyon moment when generous rulers allow us our rights. No, we boldly exercise our liberties every day.

Third, tactically speaking, neither bullies nor totalitarians (but I repeat myself) retire satisfied when their victims kowtow to them. They interpret such subservience as weakness and vulnerability and immediately demand even more.

Alas, we are approaching the point at which Leviathan does forcibly steal our freedom. And we Patriots must stomp the beast as we would any thief robbing us of our most precious jewel.

We’re All Anti-Semites Now

One of New York City’s rulers has shrilled that implicitly comparing the apartheid of the Jab’s “passports” and Leviathan’s official persecution of the unJabbed to the holy Holocaust is “anti-semitic.”

Call me fanciful, but yeah, the parallels between the Nazis’ marginalizing of Jews—and Gypsies, and dissidents, and the physically and mentally handicapped, and a host of other “undesirables”; wherefore the myth that Hitler unleashed his atrocities only on Jews?—are as obvious as Uncle Joe Brandon’s senility.

At any rate, New York’s leech  had nothing better to do than excoriate a comedy club in Manhattan for posting an Instagram whose hashtags included “#Fmandate” and “#nurenberg” [sic]. Mind you, the body of the post didn’t say, “No Jews wanted in our club” or “Jews are pushing the plandemic.” Nope, you must go to the hashtags and hunt assiduously for two words you can twist to your own sick purposes.

The Long-Standing Class War on the Poor, Disadvantaged, and Marginalized Has Also Turned Against the Productive Middle Class

Eugenics is at the epicenter of implementation of a corporatist Social Credit economy (based upon the Chinese Communist model) with centralized political control in a totalitarian technocratic entity, with all pervasive mass surveillance by facial recognition databases and coercive regimentation. These invasive actions are running parallel with the transition to a cashless society with all financial transactions monitored through digitalized biometric identification using such technologies as fingerprints, hand geometry and retina scanning — ultimately a microchip electronic device implanted subcutaneously (subdermally).

For well over a century the eugenic elites of the credentialed professional classes (especially within the courts) have waged a deliberate, systematic and deceptive propaganda class war on and against poor, disadvantaged, and marginalized women, particularly attempting to justify mass murder of the marginalized as for their own good. Read the infamous US Supreme Court case of Buck v Bell as establishing this destructive precedent. Roe v Wade was the culmination of this criminal eliminationist project.

Edwin Black, War Against the Weak: Eugenics and America’s Campaign to Create a Master Race

A hybrid derived from the Greek words meaning “well” and “born,” the term eugenics was coined in 1883 by Sir Francis Galton, a British cousin to Charles Darwin, to name a new “science” through which human beings might take charge of their own evolution. The Eugenics Crusade tells the story of the unlikely –– and largely unknown –– movement that turned the fledgling scientific theory of heredity into a powerful instrument of social control. Perhaps more surprising still, American eugenics was neither the work of fanatics, nor the product of fringe science. The goal of the movement was simple and, to its disciples, laudable: to eradicate social ills by limiting the number of those considered to be genetically “unfit” –– a group that would expand to include many immigrant groups, the poor, Jews, the mentally and physically disabled, and the “morally delinquent.” At its peak in the 1920s, the movement was in every way mainstream, packaged as a progressive quest for “healthy babies.” Its doctrines were not only popular and practiced, but codified by laws that severely restricted immigration and ultimately led to the institutionalization and sterilization of tens of thousands of American citizens. Populated by figures both celebrated and obscure, The Eugenics Crusade documentary above is an often revelatory portrait of an America at once strange and eerily familiar.

The Eugenics movement drew their greatest enthusiastic support and funding — extensive funding from America’s upper-most philanthropic sources such as from the Carnegie Institute and the Harriman railroad fortune. The Rockefeller Foundation helped develop and fund various German eugenics programs, including the one that Dr. Josef Mengele worked in before he went to Auschwitz. Cereal magnate J.H. Kellogg provided funding to help found the Race Betterment Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan. They were all in league with some of America’s most respected scientists from such prestigious universities as Stanford, Yale, Harvard and Princeton.

Scholars as divergent as Murray N. Rothbard and G. William Domhoff have documented the impact of thousands of key academics such as Richard Ely, Herbert Baxter Adams, and John W. Burgess who received their graduate training in Germany during the late 19th century, dominated by the rise of Bismarck’s welfare-warfare state. They returned home imbued with these ideas, which their apt pupils such as Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson transformed into hard reality. This worship of the newly-discovered wonders of statism, combined with the influx of Darwinian evolutionary naturalism, “social imperialism” and Fabian socialism imported from Great Britain, the increasing secularization of postmillennial evangelical pietism, provided the satanic breeding ground for the incubus that emerged as Progressivism — complete with its elite notions of centralized political/economic planning, aggressive nationalism, and eugenics and the idea of “race suicide.”

Top tier social scientists, especially economists, gave their full sanction to the Eugenics project. Several feminist reformers advocated an agenda of eugenic legal reform. The National Federation of Women’s Clubs, the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union, and the National League of Women Voters were among the variety of state and local feminist organizations that at some point lobbied for eugenic reforms. One of the most prominent feminists to champion the eugenics agenda was Margaret Sanger, the leader of the American birth control movement. Margaret Sanger saw birth control as a means to prevent unwanted children from being born into a disadvantaged life, and incorporated the language of eugenics to advance the movement. Sanger also sought to discourage the reproduction of persons who, it was believed, would pass on mental disease or serious physical defects. She actively spoke before KKK groups promoting this racist eugenics agenda.

The Eugenics movement in the US and the UK served as the model for the implementation of these horrors in National Socialist Germany.

Wayne reports from Up North,

Took my Outback in for some repairs today. There is no question we are now living in a lunatic asylum. I was surrounded by people with double masks and others with an N95 mask that made them look like some prehistoric pig-like creature from the age of dinosaurs. They avoided me because I refused to wear a facial diaper in contravention of the local decrees but no one said anything.

Ahem. An excellent example for those still trying to gain the approval of their fellow inmates by aping their mental illness.

I have no fear of the so-called virus, assuming it even exists, but I fear all the lunatics around me

Amen!

and the corrupt and evil governments and medical establishment waging a war of tyranny against We The People.

Double amen!

How did we ever get to this state where everything seems upside down? War is peace, tyranny is freedom, lies are truth, mass murder is health care, bioweapons are vaccines, etc. I now fear going to a hospital to treat any disease and trust in doctors is now almost gone. Despite the billions and trillions of dollars pumped into “health care,” we are now mostly on our own when it comes to medical treatment.

Which is a blessing, given the drugs the medical charlatans ceaselessly push. But what to do in an emergency: a car crash, a bad fall, or a stroke?

The Jesuit Spirit of Christmas?

Walter Block’s correspondence with one Kevin Wildes, a Jesuit priest who is the former president of Loyola University-New Orleans (and Walter’s employer) reveals what a lying, hateful, unholy, fraudulent creep the guy is.  Wildes’ letter to the editor posted in the blog is dated December 26.  That means that this Catholic priest spent a part of Christmas day composing a lie-filled, hateful, smear of Walter Block, ending with a juvenile insult to the editor of the New Orleans publication that published an article about how the current Loyola University-New Orleans bureaucracy apparently uses brainwashed, leftist students to lie about the very un-“woke” Professor Block.  Walter’s ace in the hole against this latest outrageous act of libel against him by Loyola University-New Orleans, which should be sued for it, is that he taped every minute of every lecture last semester, when the student stooges claim that he made . . . . . . wait for it, wait for it . . . . . . . . racist remarks.  He has informed the left-wing nut provost who is attacking him of this, and got no response.

Every economist in the world, and anyone who ever read an introductory economics text, knows that productivity differences are the main determinant of wage differences in market economies.  That in fact is why parents send their children to universities like Loyola University-New Orleans — they hope that one benefit will be that they will be more productive in whatever job or career they pursue, and that that will mean a higher lifetime income.  The communist tyrants at Loyola University-New Orleans forced Professor Block to go through “sensitivity training” for stating in class the exact same thing that every other economics professor in the world states in class about the link between labor productivity and wages.  Not everyone is equally productive, you see, so to even mention this subject is “insensitive.”  It offends the lazy, unmotivated, derelict, alcohol-soaked students in the class.

Send your kid to Loyola University-New Orleans and there is a good chance that he will come out as an ignorant, loud-mouthed barbarian, just like Kevin Wildes and his ilk.

Subject: Slow Day

Dear Mr. Gill,

Your recent column about Walter Block caught my eye as I scanned the internet.  After reading your column I can only guess that it must have been a slow news day.

Gill, James. 2021. “This professor was accused of racism in class. But he recorded his lectures.” The Advocate, Times-Picayune; December 26;

https://www.nola.com/opinions/james_gill/article_c522ccd4-62ad-11ec-8f5c-7f919e76095d.html

I was neither surprised by your column nor was I surprised by Prof. Block and his remarks.  The academy lives through a commitment to finding truth and the free expression of ideas and thoughts.   However, Professor Block prefers to engage in superficial slogans and sayings (rather than engaging in serious scholarship and arguments).  Serious scholarship and argument takes place in blind, peer-reviewed, referred journals rather than in saying provocative things in class to annoy or entertain young people.

At the same I hope that journalism would address serious issues rather than wasting its time on trivial entertainment by a professor.  Your columns remind me of a quote from Abraham Lincoln:  “He can compress the most words into the smallest idea of any man I know”.
