is timeless worth watching?
is the show timeless worth watching? i think it has 13 episodes so i could catch up in 2 days. is the script good? what about the acting? is it a lot like legends of tomorrow because i gave up on the arrowverse a few months ago because of the cheese lines and pep talks they give every episode.
I enjoy the show. But shows like this always seem to lose their way after awhile or become too ridiculous. So I'll keep watching and hope it stays decent.
I'm a huge James Bond fan, and one ep had Ian Fleming as a character, which I thought was pretty neat. I believe it's the only time the creator of James Bond has ever been represented as a character in something fictional.
It’s been done a few times
Eric Kripke (Supernatural) created the show. The show is fun and entertaining. It's worth it if you're a fan of Historical events.
I like Timeless. It has a lot of the pulpy fun of Legends of Tomorrow, but it takes itself a bit more seriously and has a slightly darker tone. I also find it is more consistent in its portrayal of race, gender, and sexuality issues than LoT, which swings pretty wildly between borderline SJW and borderline politically incorrect.
Timeless takes a bit to get interesting because of the slow build of its main plot, but I'm eagerly awaiting its return.
This. One of the reasons I love this show is for this.
When Legends is great about that shit, it's GREAT. When it's not great, Sara's sexuality is a big joke.
Timeless? Rufus and Lucy care about their issues, feel an obvious kinship dealing with them in history, but often disagree respectfully on what needs to be done. Consistently. Wyatt generally behaves as if he's completely oblivious to such things and knows it, and occasionally gets annoyed if it interferes with the mission. They care about the issues and stand up about them without being call-out culture caricatures, consistently.
This SO much. They show that the issues matter, but the characters are all set in their beliefs and are consistent in what they do and don't care about. There's no wishy washy USA shut here, and it makes the characters 1,000 times .ore interesting. Also, Garcia Flynn is infinitely more interesting as a villain than Vandal Savage could ever hope to be. Doesn't hurt that the show is incredibly well researched too.
I enjoy it. It's sort of a time travel show for people that like time travel but need to give their brain a rest. Meaning you can just enjoy the show and history lessons as opposed to always working your brain wondering if that can work in time travel or not.
its fun, I enjoyed it kinda like i enjoyed continuum. Which... now that I think about it share a lot... too much perhaps...
I enjoyed the first three episodes (which is the amount of episodes I give a show before deciding whether I like it or not), but the following three episodes were hard to watch so I quit. Wouldn't recommend it
you're too late, i binged all the episodes today and well... i loved it. hope it gets renewed for a season 2 but i heard that the ratings aren't that good. i hate when they cancel shows, they usual have this abrupt ending that leaves me very unsatisfied.
Well, it got a surprise reversal, but it would have been picked up by another network anyway so...
thank you all for responding. i was a little unsure about it at first but you guys have won me over, I'll give it a watch :)
Still not sure if I like the show but I am still watching it. Let's arrange in order of quality 12 monkeys, Timeless, DCs legends
i haven't seen 12 monkeys (film or show) but i'd say after watching timeless that it is much more superior to legends. legends just left a bad taste in my mouth (just gave up on the show after the season 2 mid-season finale)
I just binged watched until episode 11 and these are my thoughts about it : Cheesy, lazy writing, too formulaic, full of plot holes and isn't very historically accurate. From a neutral outsider perspective, the show seems a bit like American nationalist propaganda and whitewashes/sugarcoats/glamorizes a lot of their history. The major plot arc has been lame so far and very less has been revealed. Overall a waste of time but the first 3 episodes are worth a watch.
i agree, when i binge a show it seems a 100% better than it actually is. i stopped watching because it really isn't that good once you take a break (waiting a week for an episode) and let the plot and writing sink in. i would probably rate it 4 out of 10. what was i thinking when i gave it an 8? the power of the binge watching is strong. the same thing happened with Gotham, i watched 3 seasons in 5 days and i thought it was amazing but it's ok at best when you take a break.
Where are you seeing historical inaccuracies? Because from my standpoint having just finished episode 7, the only inaccuracy I can think of is a small vaccination in episode 7. Unless you are thinking of the changes that happen to the timeline, but those are effected by the very fact that are chasing Flynn through time and trying to clean up his mess. From what I have seen it is incredibly well researched.
It's much better than Legends from a character stsndpoint.
It's shitty.
It's nothing like Legends of Tomorrow because Timeless is actually really good. It isn't as dark as 12 Monkeys (which is just so fucking good), but it is a good time travel show that does a fairly good job of managing time travel, paradoxes, history, etc. I'm awaiting the start of the new season because they get to go to H.H. Holmes murder house during the Chicago world fair.
they do a pretty terrible job managing time travel, still enjoy the show though
The show was not very good IMO. I like smart SciFi / Fantasy. TNG, Supernatural, etc. This show was NOT that. It was NOT smart. The stories were weak and not very clever. And every episode had it's mandatory "history sucks if you're black" scene or two.
Lots of better stuff out there.
