  • MIL Right Fielder #28
Wiemer, 25, has hit .220 with a .688 OPS over 58 at-bats with Nashville. The outfielder mostly struggled in his time in the majors for the Brewers in 2024, and is more of a long-term option than someone fantasy managers should be considering for the 2024 campaign.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #28
It was a bit surprising to see Miller pulled after just four innings and 73 pitches during Wednesday’s start against the Twins, and perhaps this was why. It’s unclear how serious the ailment is or how long the 25-year-old hurler will be sidelined for. Either way, it’s a very unfortunate break for fantasy managers. Stay tuned.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
Ryan served up a two-run blast to Kerry Carpenter in the opening frame after a throwing error by Jose Miranda kept the inning alive, but was virtually un-hittable afterwards amassing an eye-popping 20 swinging strikes and finishing with an elite 39 percent CSW. He kept Detroit’s lineup off the scoreboard into the sixth inning when rookie Colt Keith delivered a go-ahead RBI single. He’ll bring a strong 2.60 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 24/2 K/BB ratio across 17 innings (three starts) into a rematch against the Tigers on Friday at Target Field.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #35
Holmes was called upon to protect a one-run lead in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader and wound up needing just 14 pitches (nine strikes) to preserve the win. He surrendered a leadoff double to Ramón Laureano, who wound up being stranded in scoring position, following strikeouts of Bo Naylor and Estevan Florial before Brayan Rocchio grounded out to end the contest. The 31-year-old righty has converted six of his seven save opportunities this season.
  • MIL Right Fielder #22
Murphy added that Yelich won’t play this weekend against the Orioles due to lower back discomfort, and will likely wind up requiring a trip to the injured list if he’s not ready to return for Monday’s series opener against the Padres. There should be some clarity on his status for fantasy managers at some point later this weekend or early next week. Stay tuned.
  • BOS Third Baseman #11
Devers remains absent from Boston’s lineup for the third consecutive contest due to an ongoing left shoulder soreness. The positive news here is that all indications are he won’t require a trip to the injured list and the Red Sox are merely proceeding with an abundance of caution since it’s so early in the year. It’ll be Bobby Dalbec taking over at the hot corner on Saturday in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • BAL Second Baseman #7
It’s a much needed break for Holliday, who appears to be pressing a bit at the plate in search of his first career hit. The 20-year-old top prospect, who struck out all three times up during Friday’s series opener against the Brewers, has gone 0-for-11 with seven strikeouts in his first three contests since being called up earlier this week. It’s not unprecedented for top prospects to struggle initially as they adjust to everyday life in the majors, so fantasy managers should continue to exercise patience here. It’s only a matter of time before he heats up.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #29
Rodriguez will make his highly-anticipated major-league debut on Saturday against the Rockies at the Rogers Centre. It’s an extremely favorable matchup, which gives him some immediate appeal for fantasy managers as a streaming candidate. The 27-year-old Cuban right-hander, who signed a five-year, $32 million contract in the offseason, looked extremely sharp recently for Triple-A Buffalo, striking out 10 batters over 6 1/3 shutout innings (two starts). There are some lingering questions concerning how he’ll hold up with a full starter’s workload moving forward, but he’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in all fantasy formats based on talent alone.
  • MIN Shortstop #4
The Twins haven’t revealed the results of Correa’s MRI, which will determine how long he’s likely to remain sidelined. The 29-year-old superstar shortstop suffered the right oblique strain during Friday’s contest against the Tigers during a third-inning at-bat. There should be some much-needed clarity on his return timeline at some point this weekend, but fantasy managers should anticipate him missing at least a few weeks. It’ll most likely be Willi Castro and Austin Martin filling in at shortstop in his absence with top prospect Brooks Lee on the shelf in the minors due to injury.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #40
Lodolo will take the ball on Saturday afternoon against the White Sox for his first big-league start since last May. The 26-year-old southpaw was establishing himself as a potential upper-echelon fantasy starter before suffering a left calf injury that wound up keeping him on the shelf for nearly an entire year. Given his immense strikeout potential, Lodolo figures to make a significant impact for fantasy managers, if he can stay healthy.
