Ground Broken on Trail-Building Phase at Stone Eater Bike Park
“More Kids on Bikes” is the tagline and aspiration for the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). That phrase is also one step closer to becoming a reality for young people who live in Lebanon and surrounding areas, as ground was officially broken on the trail-building phase at Stone Eater Bike Park. The 110-acre former landfill is being transformed into a world class bike park with the help of Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IDEC) sponsored READI Grant funds, as well as American Rescue Plan, private sponsorship, and money from the city’s sanitation fund.
An Eclipse-timed Proposal Takes Place in Lebanon
Aaron Sarver and Deb Telon of Minneapolis, Minnesota, knew they wanted to drive to Indiana to experience the total eclipse on April 8 and originally set their sights on Indianapolis. However, Boone County’s marketing phrase of “Get Mooned In Boone” caught their eye and the couple decided Lebanon might be a better location.

2024 Total Eclipse Reaction Reel
The 2024 Total Eclipse in Lebanon, Indiana did not disappoint. Mother Nature played nice and game eclipse-goers beautiful weather and mostly clear skies. Lebanon residents were able to renew their love for their community, and out-of-town visitors were welcomed by the community, and filled by eight different Watch Party locations.
Eclipse Totality Enjoyed in Lebanon
A collective cheer arose in downtown Lebanon when the moon totally eclipsed the sun Monday. Then a reverent hush fell over the downtown Lebanon square and in Memorial Park in Lebanon while, for a few minutes, the sky went dark just after 3 p.m.

Fluor Shares 1st Quarter Lilly Updates
Weather conditions impacted field work throughout the first quarter of 2024. Early January was challenging, with snow and single-digit temperatures putting a halt to all but essential facility and equipment maintenance activity. Fortunately, February’s historic temperatures and sunny, dry conditions allowed the construction and support staff to get back to work.
Prepping For the Total Solar Eclipse
The day after the August 2017 total solar eclipse spanned the country, Ginger Murphy got a phone call. The Chicago-area caller wanted to reserve 40 rooms at a Hoosier state park lodge for an eclipse due to darken skies above Indiana nearly seven years later.

Discover Boone County has announced a Treats Trail with ice cream, pie, donuts, cakes, cookies and more. Throughout the month of April, when customers visit any of the participating establishments, take a photo and tag Discover Boone County in their social media post, they will be entered to win a prize pack valued at more than $300.
