Where do you find good sheet music for your synth?

I would like to practice a bit on great classics, Vangelis soundtracks and the like. But it's so difficult (for me at least) to find sheets on the Internet that are not simplified versions or piano arrangements full of ornaments.

Any tip to speed up the search? It doesn't have to be full-on sheet music, any reasonable notation will do.

Try googling name of piece and composer followed by “pdf” on images. You can also filter by color and since sheet music has white background just filter that too.

What I am saying is 90% of the images and pdfs I find are piano arrangements that fill the sound with trills and huge chords and sound terrible on a synth unless you are patching a piano-like sound.

Just dont play the ornamentations or the chords. The melody and bass lines should still be on the music (top and bottom lines).

And also thats kind of subjective, ive heard people play classical pieces on poly synths and it sounds amazing.

Yeah, I can remove the ornaments, I can also try to transcribe it by ear. But why should I do that?

Some classical pieces do sound great I agree, but why should I play my arrangement of an arrangement for a different instrument of a piece that was originally played on the instrument I am playing...

Sheet music usually is just a roadmap, doesnt have to be note by note exactly so with just a few hrs you can have a simplified version for your synth.
Honestly its going to be hard to find sheet music for modern synth music unless you transcribe or pay

It sounds like you want "the internet" to drop a gift in your lap.

If you can transcribe it by ear, then why don't you do it and post the results online? Then you too can reap the rewards of having other people criticize the work that you did for free and posted.

But to actually contribute something . . . I have found the best sources for "transcriptions" is to watch Youtube covers, find one that you think sounds accurate, then watch their hands. Or, if you're lucky, they will also show a running display of MIDI note that are played.

Guitar tabs or piano arrangements are about all I can find too. (Not that I can read either at a useful speed) 🙁

Try looking for MIDI files and use a program like Rosegarden to convert to notation maybe?

An alternative might be to search for MIDI files or the songs in question, then use software that will convert it into sheet music.
