Gluten free Grill was a big hit, first time my wife could have a ballpark dog in ages! Beautiful park, helpful and friendly staff, great seats in section 322 row 5, clean, easy to get around, and a great game with a Yankee win. Fun day all around!

We visited the garden in March, the flowering of the cherry trees, the magnolia trees, the
    tulips and Daffodils was amazing
If you would like to relax a little bit from the intensive city, its one of the best option

I went to this zoo with my extended family and so had to rent a wheelchair. This zoo has a LOT of hills, so be prepared for this. Overall, not much to say other than it was a very nice, clean zoo with lots of animals. Everyone had a good time.

Excellent Mueseum of the History of Hip Hop. We came in August when the museum had a free month and exhibition. The Evolution of Hip Hop 1986-1990. It was excellent and really informative. With screens showing videos and lots of exhibits from the time. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our visit and look forward to the new building opening soon. Hopefully do the new one when in New York next.

I have been to City Island multiple times within the past few decades, but yesterday was the first (1st) time that I went to this place for the past seven (7) years. City Island contains a myriad of restaurants, and there is a huge concentration on seafood. It is a safe island with multiple panoramas of the various waterways that surround it on every side. Many boats can be seen in the plethora of marinas. This area is easily accessible from Interstate-95 and from Pelham Parkway; I would state that a person should just be prepared for horrible traffic and for aggressive driving en route to City Island. Orchard Beach is also very close in proximity to this site. There is a lot of street parking, and many of the restaurants also have their own parking lots. I enjoyed taking a walk on City Island Avenue, which is the Main Street.

Wave Hill is a quiet beautiful place on the Hudson. The bees are fantastic, and it’s a great place for a picnic. It also has a couple of nice at galleries and a cafe.

I took a Jerome line (#4 subway) all the way to Woodlawn station. At the gate of the cemetary, I talked with the very nice gate keeper who gave me a map. Map or even google map looks very far from each other, but I was able to enjoy the walk alone, see the trees (particularly it will be beautiful in the fall), and visit the burial sites of Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Celia Cruz. I wanted to go up more, but started to sprinkle and I needed to go to the restroom, I save Colis P. Huntington, Irving Berlin, Herman Melville for the next visit.

No cost. Just train, and your time.

The Little Italy in the Bronx on Arthur Avenue has a great collection of Italian restaurants & bakeries; the kind of neighborhood that once existed on Manhattan. Note that parking is always a problem in this crowded neighborhood, the 15-20 minute walk from the nearby Fordum Avenue train station may save you time & aggravation over circling looking for a parking space.

This is a huge city park on the northern edge of town, up in the Bronx. Good place for a long hike or a picnic. You can get here by subway.

A lot of trails for hiking and biking throughout the entire park. The views of the bay in the fall were really nice, long grass along the sea surrounded by trees. We saw signs for golfing, and the crescent shaped Orchard beach was good size, with an old deteriorating bathhouse in the middle of it. Probably completely full in the summer. A huge boat themed playground for kids, softball and baseball fields, squash and tennis courts, etc.

Small, unassuming cottage but very interesting tour with our knowledgeable guide Roger. Easy to get to via 4 or D subway and well worth the trip if you’re a Poe fan. You do need to reserve a time to visit via phone or email, both on the website.

Ignore the review that says this is in a “bad area,” btw. It’s a neighborhood with bodegas and shops - not fancy, very diverse, but perfectly safe. Husband and I are obvious tourists, both Anglo, it was fine.
