The Old Bailey heard that in the moments before his vicious attack, which left the woman in critical care for nearly a month, Ambarla made a number of searches about 'killing a human' as he sat in the restaurant waiting for a time to strike.

A doctor who filmed himself having sex with women in his surgery while patients waited outside is facing the end of his career. Self confessed sex addict Dr Tom Plimmer, 40, who appeared on Channel 4 show First Dates in 2018, showed a colleague his home made porn videos he had shot in the consulting room of his surgery in Swindon. He then sent a nurse, 197 photos and videos of him having sex with dozens of women after she was coerced into a relationship with him. Panel chair Claire Lindley ruled that Dr Plimmer's fitness to practice is currently impaired by reason of misconduct.

Police descended on the scene in Engineers Way, just outside the iconic football ground, earlier today following reports that a man was in breach of a court order that prevented him from entering the area. The incident descended into mayhem as when cops began arresting the man, his dog 'became aggressive' and mauled one of the officer's legs. Footage from the scene just moments after the attack shows one officer approaching the 'dangerous' dog before firing her Taser at the animal, which then runs away in terror.

Chris Makin (left) , 65, was convicted of assaulting Andrew Mason, 63, and fined £4,800 for dragging him by the hair (right) and 'throwing him to the floor in a headlock' when he tried to stop contractors working for Makin from cutting back trees that could contain nests in the North Yorkshire village of Church Fenton. It has now emerged that the parish council led by Mr Mason has played a key role in challenging Makin's family firm for allegedly breaching planning rules and carrying out works without permission at the Leeds East Airport site on the edge of the village. Mr Mason, a property developer, said Makin's family firms based at the airport have a 'laissez faire approach to planning.'

Shocking photos reveal the devastation left in Chernobyl following the nuclear catastrophe - transforming a once bustling place into a ghost town. Pripyat was once a city full of live with a population of around 49,400 going about their daily lives - but that all came to a screeching halt on April 27, 1986. On that fateful day one of the reactors at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant exploded and all humans nearby were evacuated to avoid extreme levels of radiation. It was one of only two nuclear incidents to be rated a maximum severe of seven on the International Nuclear Events Scale, with the radioactive isotopes spreading to Sweden , Finland and other parts of Europe. Images comparing the once busy city have now emerged showing the stark contrast following the aftermath of the devastating catastrophe.

Russia will make NATO nuclear weapons in Poland one of its primary targets if they are deployed there, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov declared today in the latest escalation of tensions between Moscow and Europe.  The comments came after Polish President Andrzej Duda on Monday said his nation would be ready to host Western nukes, given Russia's decision to station intercontinental ballistic missiles in neighbouring Belarus late last year.  'Our patience is not limitless,' Ryabkov said. 'If Poland takes the path of further escalation - these verbal games with nuclear weapons - then it means there will be a further round of tension. 

Jolanda Fun (left), who has prepared invitations for her own funeral in advance, told the Sunday Times earlier this month that she hopes to become the latest person in The Netherlands to seek a doctor-assisted death for psychiatric problems. Fun told the British newspaper she has long suffered from an eating disorder, depression, autism and mild learning difficulties - and that she would rather her life end peacefully rather than attempt suicide herself. Despite having her family, friends and a small dog, she said life is a constant pain. Figures show that 138 people suffering with mental health issues were euthanized in 2023 - making up 1.5 percent of euthanasia cases in the Netherlands that year. Assisted dying laws in the Netherlands were put under the spotlight earlier this year in a similar case to that of Fun's. Zoraya ter Beek (right), who lives in a small village in the Netherlands , said in April she will be 'freed' early next month. She will be euthanized on the sofa in her home with her boyfriend by her side, The Free Press reported.
