LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska health officials have confirmed the death of a western Nebraska man from Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, a disease carried by ticks.
The department said it has seen an increase in reports of tick-borne disease this year.
Rocky Mountain spotted fever is a bacterial disease that is marked by fever, headache and a rash. It is treatable, but can be deadly if left untreated.
