Top 10 Best Android Shooter Games – Ranked List

10. Garena Free Fire

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $0.99 – $109.99
  • Download: Google Play

Garena Free Fire is one of the many games you’ll find out there that offer battle royale style gameplay. Following the major success of games like PUBG and Fortnite (both of which are also on this list), Garena Free Fire came onto the scene with its own unique take on the genre.

It’s still a battle royale but changes a few things. For instance it only has 50-player battles instead of 100. Meaning you have less people to content with for victory. This detail is also likely to result in shorter matches.

Garena International ( the company behind the game) promises each match will only last ten minutes. Meaning you can rack up a lot of gameplay in an hour.

Garena Free Fire offers you a ton of different weapon choices, character customization with different outfits and gear, and you can create four-man squads to band together and take out the enemy. There’s voice chat too, so you can communicate properly and formulate a strategy to win.

Controls also seem pretty well thought out, and graphics are nothing to sneeze at. Overall it’s a great game to sink a little bit of time into if you enjoy battle royale games.

9. Shadowgun War Games

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $2.99 – $99.99
  • Download: Google Play

Next up on the list is Shadowgun War Games. This is the latest title from Madfinger Games, building off of the Shadowgun franchise and taking it in a new direction.

If you likely multiplayer shooters, then this is worth a look. If you like Overwatch, then this is worth a look. That’s because this is more or less an Overwatch clone and will have very similar gameplay.

It’s a team-based shooter, with various characters that have unique abilities to add some spice to the teams. In all respects it’s a pretty fun game, and the only reason it’s this low on the list is because there isn’t a whole lot of content for it right now.

That is going to change as it gets older, but the game is still fresh and unfortunately it has launched with only five characters, as well as a low amount of maps and game modes. So for now it’s a tiny bit lacking on what you can do.

That being said it’s not a bad game at all. And Madfinger Games is always good for keeping its games alive for quite some time. So players should expect the development of this one to happen quickly and for a while.

If you want an Overwatch experience on your phone when you have a little bit of time, definitely download this one and watch it evolve.

8. Modern Strike Online

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $0.99 – $99.99
  • Download: Google Play

More or less your standard FPS game here, with various modes of gameplay including some of the most popular that you’ll find in just about every game in this genre.

This is one of the Counter Strike clones you’ll find on the Play Store and definitely one of the best ones. The game has been around for a few years now too, so you have lots of content to sift through and regular updates that bring in new content.

You have match types like Team Deathmatch, Team Battles, Team Bomb Battles and more. There are 14 maps to play on too, and over 50 different weapons to use for a varied arsenal against your foes.

It also supports clans, so you can form teams of friends and group up for games. However you play, you’re definitely going to want to use teamwork to overcome the other side. Otherwise you risk losing.

Strategy will be key here in some of these modes, so communication is another big factor to consider. Lastly, visuals are pretty solid in Modern Strike Online and that’s always a good trait in an FPS.

If you want to check this one out, you can grab it from the download link just above.

7. Infinity Ops

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $0.99 – $99.99
  • Download: Google Play

This is a newer game from the same people that make Modern Strike Online. It features pretty similar gameplay but with a futuristic sci-fi theme to it.

You’ll notice that right away once you get a hold of your first jet pack to use in a match. Of course the space-themed suits are also a dead giveaway.

You don’t have as many modes as you do in Modern Strike Online, as there’s three here compared to seven (plus a custom mode), but you still get the main ones you’d expect to find like Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, and Hardcore.

You also have clans so you can group up with friends and take down the enemy team with more organization and strategy.

Even with the small amount of game modes, there’s still a lot of content to sink your teeth into. Such as character customization and upgrades for your gear and weapons, and pretty decent graphics.

6. Shadowgun Legends

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $4.99 – $99.99
  • Download: Google Play

This is basically the Destiny for phones. Of course if you have access to xCloud or GeForce NOW or Stadia, you can play the actual Destiny 2, but this is a nice substitute and will work much better via mobile data.

Shadowgun Legends has a lot of what Destiny offers in terms of gameplay. This is a mobile looter shooter, offering missions, tons of gear upgrades, larger dungeon-like activities that you need groups to complete and even PvP.

It’s not super expansive and you can’t actually explore like you can in Destiny 2, but it still scratches that itch. Plus there is a lot more content than Shadowgun War Games so if you want a shooter that will take up some time with content, this isn’t a bad choice.

And, there’s over 700 different weapons. Which is an insane amount of weapons to choose from. Essentially, you won’t be lacking when it comes to variety. There’s over 60 different gear sets too. So you can outfit your character with a cool look.

Visually the game is pretty stunning as well, and it’s one of the games that supports the 120Hz refresh rate on phones that offer the option, such as the ROG Phone II.

If you like looter shooters, definitely give this one a go.

5. Hitman Sniper

  • Price: $0.99
  • In-game cost per item: $0.99 – $49.99
  • Download: Google Play

This is a bit of an older title but it still holds up well. Because it’s a really good game and it focuses just on the sniping aspect instead of a bunch of chaotic run n’ gun combat.

That means you have a little bit more of a relaxed game to play and sort of take your time.

Just like the console and PC versions of Hitman, you’re taking on contracts here, and will need to assassinate the people in those contracts. There are ten contracts to complete with 150+ missions spanning across all of them.

Loads of different snipers (16 altogether) and upgrades to acquire, and even a unique zombie mode. There’s a leaderboard too, so if you crave a little bit of competition you can still get part of that with this game.

Now that it’s a bit older as well, it’s on sale for pretty cheap. So don’t miss out on this one.

4. Fortnite

One of the most popular battle royale games on the planet is also one of the only ones that you can’t pick up on Google Play. But it’s still available on Android for more than Samsung phones now.

In fact it launched for non-Samsung Android devices quite some time ago. Fortnite is the exact same on mobile as it is on PC and consoles. And it’s cross-platform so you can play with your friends no matter what platform you’re all on.

That’s also a big reason why the game is so popular. Because it allows this function that not many games offer.

With Fortnite you’re getting a standard battle royale experience of having to fight to win against 99 other players in a massive battle. The really unique take on this genre is the ability to build structures in the game and break them down to gather materials.

This allows all sorts of crazy combinations in a fight. Such as boxing in opponents so you can score an easy kill. Or blocking off the view of opponents so they can’t pick you off from afar. At least not as easily.

The game also offers a ton of character customization with different skins, emotes, and more, and it offers a battle pass which allows you to unlock loads of cool stuff just by playing the game.

So the more you play the more rewards you get. It’s that simple. If you like battle royale games this is one of your best options. Especially if you have friends or family that play it too.

3. Critical Ops

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $1.99 – $99.99
  • Download: Google Play

This is another Counter Strike clone and has quite a bit to offer in the way of gameplay. You have a few standard game modes like Team Deathmatch, Gun Game, and Defuse, as well as loads of maps and pretty detailed environments with decent graphics.

You can also set up custom games where you create a room that requires a password to enter. Perfect for if you play this game with friends and want to ensure you’re only playing with people you know.

The game modes are quick, which is one of the best things about the game. You can get in and get out of a match in a short period of time which means you can fit in a few matches relatively fast.

2. PUBG MOBILE

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $0.99 – $199.99
  • Download: Google Play

The pinnacle of battle royale games on mobile, PUBG MOBILE sets the bar high for this style of shooter.

It offers big scale battles, gear collection, customization of characters, and constant updates to the game that are adding in new content. It also follows the season model with a battle pass so you can play through each season and unlock gear and weapons just by playing.

There will be events from time to time too, which will offer special game modes and even limited time characters and items.

It’s also one of the biggest mobile Esports games in the world, so if you aspire to get better and compete, this is a game you will have a chance to do that with. This is not cross-platform with the PC version, but the game is more or less exactly the same.

There’s even a deathmatch mode, so you can either stick to the large-scale battle royale or go for the 4v4 TD mode instead. Which might feel way less chaotic and more manageable for getting used to the game and its controls if you’re a newcomer.

1. Call of Duty Mobile

  • Price: Free
  • In-game cost per item: $0.99 – $99.99
  • Download: Google Play

Call of Duty Mobile is the cream of the crop when it comes to mobile shooters and it achieved this milestone in such a short time which makes it all the more impressive.

You have the classic Call of Duty multiplayer experience that you know and love but scaled down for phone screens. Controls are smooth, there are tons of customization options for the controls too, and you have varied graphics settings so that just about any modern smartphone can play Call of Duty Mobile.

If you don’t want to play the standard multiplayer game modes, you can check out ranked, zombies, and event battle royale. There’s a lot to do in this game and a lot to love. Especially with new limited time modes that pop in every so often.

And like some of the other shooters you have seasons and a season pass that allow you to unlock new gear, weapons, and items. There are also events that give you tasks to complete in the various game modes, which can unlock rewards as well.

If you like FPS games, Call of Duty Mobile is a must-have title on your phone. Set up a clan and even communicate through voice chat if you want to strategize the win.

With all that this game has to offer, Call of Duty Mobile is easily deserving of the top spot on our best android shooter games list.
