Cork singer Patrick O'Sullivan has made it through to the grand finale of singing contest Last Singer Standing, which takes place on December 10 on RTÉ One.
Actor and singer Patrick, who lives in London, has appeared in stage productions of Carrie, Wind in the Willows, and Bat Out of Hell - which toured in Manchester, London, and Toronto.
He also appeared in the UK and Ireland tour of Dr. Dolittle and is currently onstage in London with The Book of Mormon.
Patrick impressed fellow contestants, the audience, and pop panellists Nadine Coyle, Joey Fatone, and Samantha Mumba with his performance of U2's Beautiful Day on Saturday night's show, with Nadine telling him, "If you were the Last Singer Standing overall, I wouldn't be surprised."
"That was just phenomenal. I prefer that to Bono's version to be honest" Samantha said.
Round 1 of last night’s show saw resident drag queen Carl Connie Lingus sing Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and Damien McElligott sing Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved, with the pop panel putting Connie through to the next round.
In Round 2, she sang Madonna's Crazy for You followed by Donegal's Mark O'Donnell rendition of Bruce Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark. The fellow contestants put Mark through to the next round
Round 3 saw Mark sing U2's With or Without You and Patrick doing Beautiful Day for his turn, with the audience putting Patrick through to the grand final with 67% of the vote.
Janet Grogan is now officially the record holder for most appearances on the show after she appeared for the fifth week but is she ever going to get a chance to sing?
