I need to freshen up in my Harry Potter lore, but do you think the Deathly Hallows will be in this game?
Deathly Hallows
Mh...they might name them, but I don't think we'll actually be able to see and/or use them.
It is possibile that we hear about their existence during our explorations/ancient magic studies.
From a game perspective, I can see the Elder Wand being something we can get at some point through some trial or ordeal, perhaps, presuming we can get different kinds of wands and such.
But likely I would imagine it'd not offer any actual statistical improvement, unless wands end up having stats--which I feel would ruin the free form customisation (I imagine progression to be a mixture of player skill and improvements of skills and stats while in the room of requirement.
Maybe. But that wouldn't be lore accurate, since we know that periodpossessor: Gregorovich (not sure I spelled it right 😅). But, the may make something up to let us find it (or most likely an imitation).
Fair enough, just saying from a purely game-based perspective, it wouldn't be too farfetched.
From a lore perspective, of course it wouldn't make too much sense, only because if that were the case, I think we'd have been mentioned.
An imitation, perhaps, for headcanon, that looks like it? Sure, fits perfectly into both of our ideas.
I hope not.
I agree with was said in the collaboration stream with Podcast Now, RetroRaconteur, AndyReloads, XpectoGO and Benjamin Snow that they will be mentioned but not actually in the game.
There was a model named M_CMBH_DeathlyHallows in the Autodesk stream
Maybe u could end up with one of the three based on what paths you choose at the end of the game. But I doubt it
That would be a very cool concept!
Well in one of the gameplay clips the player uses some kind of skill to become invisible so the cloak of invisibility might be an item that we are able to obtain somewhere or it’s given to us? As for the other two I’m not sure
Wasn't that just a spell though? I'm pretty sure there is a shrouding spell that isn't complete invisibility like the cloak would be
During one of the Mirror scenes Dumbledore states that he doesn't need a cloak to become invisible.
The spell used in the game is likely the spell Dumbledore is referring to in that sentence.
There is also the spell they used on Harry in one of the later books but that was a Chameleon spell and not proper invisibility.
Really good point. I had totally forgotten about that. I'm pretty sure ours will be more of a chameleon rather than invisibility, because I figure we're probably not at Dumbledore's level to cast it
Going back to watch again, you are right. It definitely looks like the Disillusionment Charm. The character isn't transparent, more a muddy version of the floor and when he walks in front of the person they aren't visible through the character.
For some reason I had remembered it differently in my head. I guess I must have looked away and looked back after he casts Petrificus Totalus because I thought the character was glowing a bit while using the invisible spell. Which is why I discounted the Disillusionment Charm.
But the only time he is glowing is when the light of the spells reflect off of him and momentarily makes him appear transparent.
Run of the mill Invisibility cloaks are not that uncommon. They just tend to get ripped, and/or the charm on them fades over time.
Harry's DH Cloak is unique because it does not suffer from degradation.
And there are also spells (and potions, I think) that provide similar, if not so potent, effect
I remember seeing in a clip of the game (probably State of Play) of a symbol that looked like the symbol of the Deathly Hallows but with a question mark in place of the line representing the Elder Wand, so in my opinion it may be referenced in game.
Don’t know if they explained who had the Elder Wand before Grindelwald in the books & I don’t know how the Resurrection Stone can be relevant to the game’s story. As for the Cloak of Invisibility, maybe we’ll meet a descendant of the third Peverell brother/ancestor to the Potters in the game.
Considering the game revolves around discovering and using ancient magic, I think would I imagine that the deathly hallows will play some sort of role.
I think could be a prize for finishing the game or for new game +

Noooope
