Fallen Warrior

Harry Potter is concerned about Hagrid after they crash into a pond. Unfortunately, Harry is badly off himself and fades into unconsciousness. When he comes to, Harry finds out that he is being taken care of by Ted and Dromeda Tonks (Nymphadora Tonks’ dad and mom). Harry is glad that Hagrid is okay but feels a bit upset by the appearance of Mrs. Tonks because she looks so much like her sister, the evil Bellatrix Lestrange. Soon both Hagrid and Harry are off to the Burrow via an important Portkey: a hairbrush.

Mrs. Weasley and her daughter, Ginny, meet Harry and Hagrid at the Burrow. They are both beside themselves with worry because Harry and Hagrid are the only two to have arrived so far. Almost immediately, another pair arrives: Remus Lupin and George Weasley. George has a severely injured ear. He is tended by his mother while Remus Lupin corners Harry and asks him a very important question: “What creature sat in the corner the first time that Harry Potter visited my office at Hogwarts?” Hearing Harry give the correct answer of “a grindylow,” Lupin relaxes a bit.

After finding out that George will survive (even after Severus Snape cursed off George’s ear), Harry is upset that Voldemort and the other Death Eaters somehow knew that he was being moved tonight. Harry is sure that none of the members of the Order of the Phoenix would betray him like that. Of course, Harry’s father was also sure no one would betray him either, but that was exactly what happened when Peter Pettigrew betrayed James Potter and alerted Voldemort.

Hermione arrives next with Kingsley Shaklebolt. Kinglsey is livid that they have been betrayed. When Kingsley learns that Harry had a run-in with both Voldemort and Stan Shunpike, Kingsley explains that there has been a large prison break at Azkaban. This is the reason why so many Death Eaters are at large.

Soon Tonks and Ron arrive, followed by Fleur Delacour and Bill Weasley. With them comes some horrible news: Mad-Eye Moody did not survive the fight. Just as the Order of the Phoenix begins to mourn this loss, Harry is filled again with anger and frustration. He tries to explain the golden sparks emitting from his wand, but no one seems to believe him. Even Arthur Weasley and Hermione try to explain the gold sparks through some other means.

Soon, Harry’s scar hurts him so much that he feels like he needs to leave the room to get some fresh air. While Harry is outside, Harry’s scar hurts even more as he sees images of Voldemort torturing Mr. Ollivander, the owner of the wand shop in Diagon Alley. Voldemort is screaming that Mr. Ollivander promised “the problem would be solved by using another’s wand!”

It becomes obvious to Harry that Voldemort is just as confused by Harry’s golden sparks. However, when Hermione comes outside to check on Harry and finds out what happened, she yells at Harry for allowing Voldemort inside his brain.
