With all the twists and turns that went down in the season finale, fans are still wrapping their heads around what happened. If you need a little help untangling out all that went down, or can't take the suspense and want to find out what happens to your favorite characters before you finish your binge, here's Netflix's The Night Agent ending, explained.

Who is the bomber in The Night Agent?

Vice President Redfield and military contractor Gordon Wick were the masterminds behind the metro bombing, and they hired a guy named Colin Warley to follow through with the deadly attack. They originally planned the bombing to cover up the murder of their actual target, Omar Zadar, but he ended up surviving.

In the show, Zadar is a controversial foreign political figure who was allegedly involved in U.S. terrorist attacks, and because of his power, President Michelle Travers wanted the U.S. government to work with him and stay on his good side. VP Redfield disagreed with the president's decision while Wick's business received "billions" of dollars from Zadar's political opponent, giving them motive to murder him in the bombing.

What happened to Rose's aunt and uncle?

Rose's aunt, Emma, and uncle, Henry, were killed as they were getting closer to the truth about the metro bombing. They were possibly targeted for telling Zadar that his life was in danger. "I believe that they told Zadar that there was an attempt on his life, but I think they were still gathering evidence," showrunner Shawn Ryan told Netflix.

What happened to Vice President Redfield and Diane Farr?

After their unsuccessful attempt to murder Zadar at the metro bombing, Vice President Redfield and Gordon Wick plot to kill him — and President Travers — with another staged terrorist attack at Camp David. At this point, Chief of Staff Diane Farr was aware of the new plan, minus the President's murder. She hid everyone's involvement, minimized threats, and ensured that scapegoats were available.

Redfield survived the bombing at Camp David, as did his partner-in-crime, Wick, who secretly escaped on his own plane to save himself.

Redfield's new right-hand man, Briggs, then made a threat about how Farr wasn't supposed to be at Camp David and shot her. Farr survived the gun wound after Rose saved her life by applying pressure on it with a pillow. Farr's double-agent involvement with Redfield and Wick's shocking plans may lead to a "very difficult criminal trial" in season 2, according to showrunner Shawn Ryan. "We can safely assume that Diane Farr has a very difficult criminal trial in her future after probably a difficult hospital stay," he told Netflix. "Her life is about to get decidedly worse."

Why was Maddie kidnapped, and who did it?

Vice President Redfield's daughter, Maddie, was kidnapped by the metro bomber, Colin Worley. After Wick's assassins accidentally killed Colin's innocent twin brother, Matteo, instead of him, Colin pretended to be Matteo and lets the world think he was the one who died. He then planned to blackmail Vice President Redfield into admitting his crimes by kidnapping Maddie. However, Redfield is so wrapped up in his sickening schemes that he doesn't even realize Maddie's gone missing.

What happened to Peter's dad?

Throughout the season, Peter was seeking closure about the truth behind his dad's time as an agent. Peter Sutherland Sr.'s confession tape confirmed that he was guilty of treason as he accepted money for sending government secrets to a foreign agent. A breach at the Pentagon happened as a direct result of his actions.

While the public (including his own son) was led to believe he died in a car accident, Peter's father had actually made a deal with the White House to become a double agent in an attempt to redeem himself. His work as a double agent eventually led to his death.
