Where are the 90 Day Fiance stars from season 1 now? The season that started it all had a few memorable couples, and some that just didn't work. The season that sparked the franchise left fans with an impression that was hard to kick, thanks to some of the couple’s drama.

The success of 90 Day Fiancé lies in the guilty pleasure it brings to the small screen. TLC has formulated one of the best shows on TV at the moment. Thankfully, this series has no end in sight. In fact, the TLC network has only added to the franchise with multiple spin-offs, seven in total, including Happily Ever After?, Before the 90 Days, and The Other Way, to name a few. All the spinoffs feature either recurring participants of the show or brand-new couples. Fans love watching the couples awkwardly navigate relationships that were started off of creepy online encounters or dating apps. Most of the couples are set up to fail, with just a few making it to the altar and beyond. Watching the couple’s struggle through the waters of communication is somehow too enticing to give up. While some viewers feel the spectacle is too much, others believe that if you are willing to put all of yourself on TV for millions to watch, you best be prepared the be put under a telescope and dissected until fans' hearts are content, especially if you have ulterior motives. The hit reality series is built around the United States K-1 visa program, which allows U.S. citizens to sponsor their fiancé so they can legally move to the US and live together. Once the visa is approved, the foreign spouse is allowed to come over and the couple is given just 90 days to marry and make it official.

Alan & Kirlyam

This couple met while Alan was visiting Brazil on a mission trip. While the language barrier was difficult at first, the couple fell head over heels for one another and ended up marrying. The couple first landed in Hollywood because Kirlyam felt she could be the next Brazilian bombshell. But shortly after the move, Kirlyam's career dreams did not pan out since Alan became extremely jealous of the photographers. Now, Kirlyam has her own YouTube channel where she vlogs and reviews products. The couple gave birth to a baby boy named Liam and now live in North Carolina, happily married.

Mike & Aziza

This couple was no fan favorite, as fans often felt Mike was a bit creepy. Mike’s family took a while to warm up to Aziza since she refused to eat their home-cooked food due to a fear of eating in public. The reality star’s close friends and family felt she was far too young and very disrespectful to the American way of life. Mike left Ohio to go and meet Aziza, who was based in Russia. These two also used a language app to communicate, but somehow made it work. Once in America, their budget was tight, but the wedding was sweet. The couple is still married and became parents in 2019 to a daughter they named Olivia Joan.

Russ & Paola

Russ and Paola Mayfield 90 Day Fiancé

Probably one of the most beloved couples on the franchise, fans will be happy to know Russ and Paola are going strong and not living in Oklahoma. The couple met in Columbia while Russ was working out there, but have been in the United States since 2014. Paola did not get along with Russ’ traditional Mormon family and found life in the United States difficult. The reality star often threatened to move back to her home country. She moved to Miami to pursue modeling, but soon gave it up after arguments with Russ about being too sexy and became a personal trainer. In 2018, the couple suffered a miscarriage, which almost ruined their relationship. But then they had their rainbow baby boy who they named Axel soon after. The couple has stayed married, still resides in Miami, and are usually all over social media.

Louis & Aya

Louis and Aya were probably one of the most forgettable couples of the entire franchise. To be honest, they were boring. The couple wrestled with the idea of living in the Philippines during season one, but ended up settling in the United States. The couple still goes back to Aya’s home country once a year. The last fans of heard from them, Aya was expecting a baby.

Cassia & Jason

Cassia was another woman who hailed from Brazil and moved to Florida to be with her older suitor. Jason was very stingy and took her to auction sights, which she hated. Jason was a bit older than his wife as well. In 2017, Cassia called the police after an altercation and filed for divorce in January of 2018. According to InTouch, the first divorce was called off. But in September of the same year, Jason filed for the second divorce.

For the most part, season one castmates have stuck together. But the same cannot be said for the recent seasons of the show. Couples are dropping like flies and the spin-offs are looking more like Survivor than a love story. On the bright side, the show lets viewers know it is not all peaches and cream when meeting a potential love interest online. While most fans have forgotten about many of the previous cast members, there are a few from each season who happen to worm their way into our hearts, whether for good or bad reasons. While the deliciously awkward show has just wrapped its seventh season, it is safe to say the couples will keep on coming. The fascinating experiment has captured America's attention and refuses to let go. 90 Day Fiancé and the spinoffs have helped the network keep up with channels such as Disney and Bravo while also becoming a powerhouse of its own. TLC currently holds the attention of the key female demographic of ages 25-54.
