Alaskan Bush People Star Billy Brown Dead at 68; Discovery Channel Laments ‘Devastating Loss’
Billy Brown, the patriarch/star of the Discovery Channel reality series Alaskan Bush People, died Sunday after suffering a seizure. He was 68.
Brown’s son, Bear Brown, confirmed the news on Instagram, writing, “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure. He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well. We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time! God bless everyone!”
A Discovery rep, meanwhile, said, “We are devastated to hear of Billy Brown’s sudden passing. He has been part of the Discovery family for years — a trailblazer, a lovely man, and most definitely one of a kind. Our heart is with his family and those that knew him and loved him as they deal with this devastating loss.”
Alaskan Bush People finished airing its 12th season in October. It remains unclear how Brown’s death will impact a potential Season 13.
I’ve watched the brown family from the first season and feel very sad at Billy’s sudden death. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family I wish I could take your pain away as I know what it’s like to lose a father.god bless you all

Since they 1st aired the 1st episode and the seasons to follow;I felt that I was with all of them through their journey. From trapper shack, then eventualy to “Browntown”, to Ca. ,To Northstar ranch. Billy Brown, U will be so missed and never forgotten!Many thoughts ,prayers and love to Billy’s family.
My husband and I watched their series and enjoyed all the family very much. Each character added to the show. That’s what made it extremely interesting and enjoyable. We will miss him terribly. We send our deepest condolences and sympathy to the family. 🙏💗

Gone forever from this life. However, as Christians we believe our eternity is forever with Christ. The Brown family were very soiritual and faithfilled. They know it isnot over, they will be together again, for eternity.

I started watching from the beginning.
I was amazed at the love and respect that the Brown family children showed towards their father, Billy and mother, Ami; not only as younger children but as they all have gotten older.
You could feel their love for each other. It was refreshing to watch a family that showed so much care, love and respect for each other.

I think the show should go on .Because the show is about his family an what he himself has taught them .and now they must go on without him. His wife should be part of that because she is the other teacher who taught them as well.I myself looking forward to watching more shows about the brown family and there ranch.I am very sorry for there loss it’s hart braking I pray for them and there future.
