WHAT ARE KOSERS?
Kosers, or Kos, stand or kill on sight, or kill for sport. This means killing without reason—for example, it isn’t for food, but rather for fun and not in a way to benefit you in game (unless it’s for a color palette or mission, then yes, it’s to benefit.)
Kosers are more or less uncommon in servers—if you’ve been playing the game for a while, you’ve encountered at least one of these players (or you are one yourself.)
WHY DO PEOPLE KOS?
People can kos for numerous reasons. Here are the most common ones: although many people may kos for different reasons, there is often a similar pattern to why people may become in-game killers.
FOR FUN-
This is the most common reason, and it’s pretty self explanatory. They kos for fun—it could be that they’re bored, or they just want to test a creature they just grew.
FOR STRESS RELIEF-
This is one of the common ones I tend to do. Oftentimes, this is a healthier alternative to talking out your anger Irl—many people kos when they are stressed, angry, or upset about something. If you see one of these players, give them and in-game hug, as they aren’t trying to cause harm, and are most likely dealing with an issue that they want to distract themselves with.
FOR/WITH A FRIEND-
Maybe your friend was made fun of by a group of kens, but wasn’t strong enough to take em out on their own. These kosers are usually only helping a friend with a palette mission or just wanting to have fun with a friend.
FOR A RAID-
If you don’t know, the basic memo of a raid is a bunch of players getting together under a certain code- for example, all hellions, or all with a red coloring on their creature. Some raids are friendly, while others have the murderous intention.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED KOS AND WHAT IS NOT?
Many people often overlook kos, or mistake an innocent action with kos. These are what’s considered kos and what’s not:
CONSIDERED KOS:
-Killing as a herbivore (unless it’s in self defense)
-Killing a group for no reason
-Killing glimmers (If they didn’t hurt you before)
-Killing for fun
NOT CONSIDERED KOS:
-Killing for food
-Killing In self defense/defending someone else
-Killing an anklebiter

I SPOTTED A KOSER! WHAT DO I DO?
Here is what to do and not what to do when spotting a koser:
DO:
-walk, do not run. As a koser myself, I tend to notice players that run, not walk. However, if the koser is charging at you, RUN.
-Leave the oasis. Many kosers do not leave the oasis, as it’s harder to find players beyond redwoods and the oasis is generally the most popular place. Here’s where to run:
FLOWER COVE: Risky. It’s next to the oasis, so kosers can easily find you if you aren’t hidden well.
HOTSPRINGS: good place. The higher you are, the less likely you’ll be found.
TUNDRA: perfect place. You can easily go here through a route I’m hotsprings-not only does it lead directly to both plains and redwoods, there are many unpopular places where you can hide.
PLAINS: amazing place. Plains is wide and hard to track players In. There are also many small caves.
REDWOODS: okay place. It’s risky, but you’ll most likely be fine.
DUNES: good place. It leads to plains, which is a good place to hide in.
SWAMP: amazing place. It’s crowded and hard to navigate, and it’s already super far from the oasis.
ANY LAKES/RIVERS/PONDS/OCEAN: a go-to for semi aquatic players. The most common escape route is through the redwoods river, and into the ocean. If you see a koser and you are a semi-aquatic, dive there.
-Server hop. If you just want to glimmer hunt or chill, this is the best option. Self explanatory.
DO NOT:
-Harass the koser. They most likely didn’t know that your Aeries was stored. Remember: they are people too. They aren’t heartless monsters, even if you think they are.
-Brag when killing the koser. Even if you kill the koser, don’t brag or rub it in their face- you aren’t impressive, all your doing is making them feel bad- and if they have an extra koser in their storage, you’re only making yourself a target.
-Send death threats to the koser. Why do I even have to say this? You aren’t doing anything. If you seriously think that will solve the situation, it isn’t, and you’re just being a jerk.

HOW TO KOS, AND THE DOES AND DO NOTS (plus, tips! :D)
Hello my fine kos friends, I suspect you’ve been waiting for this chapter.
How to kos-
How to kos/Do:
Aim for creatures that are defenseless, weaker, or easier to target. These are easier to take out, and if you are lucky, this will clear half of the oasis, or even all of you use a creature you are skilled with. Avoid triks and gyros—these creatures can inflict bone break, which severely slows you down, and in emergency, you can’t get away, as your bones are broken. This is by far the worst status effect to have when KOSING.
Also, it’s best to kos with a friend, or befriend a group of kosers. They can assist you in case you die, and with the addition of Ani, you can have a friend or a friendly person assist you when you get low by healing you up. When fighting creatures that are stronger, always attack from behind and grab on/carry them-this will greatly hinder them. Bonus points of they have a terrible turn radius and they can’t turn around to hit you.
Always have a planned escape route. If things get sticky, run. Log if you need to, although it’s generally frowned upon. My usual escape route is to head to hotsprings and either go to the cave or to tundra—if semi aquatic, I go to the redwoods river and make a break for it.
DON’T:
Try to use generally weaker creatures. Unless you are a pvp god, this is a bad idea, as you can get taken down pretty easy.
Brag in chat. This makes you unlikable and often toxic depending on what you said.
Don’t say things like “hahahahah ez” “lmaoooo everyone is so bad” (believe me, I’ve encountered these peoples, and they are a pain)
Don’t complain if you die. It’s alright, and you can always revive or regrow that creature, as dying isn’t the end of the world (well, it kind of is the end of the life of the creature)
