Here.

Almost 2 years ago for me and it hasn't gotten much better.

It's been 12 years for me. But I think I also have untreated lyme. I have 3 positive bands but as you know most docs don't think this is positive. I'm curious, how did they treat your rmsf

I was sick for a couple of weeks with flu like symptoms and had a very high fever that was hard to keep safely low. About 3 weeks in starting having physical problems and had moments where I couldn't move my body and was in the worst pain and had loads of other issues. Went to doctor and they said it's probably just long covid but went ahead and tested me for Lyme and rmsf to be safe and got results 3 weeks after that. By then I was in so much pain I almost felt like dying to end the pain. Started treatment and fever dropped first day and the severe symptoms went down after a couple days. Never had any rash though.

Crazy results took that long to get. If they suspected rmsf they are supposed to treat immediately because waiting for tests could be fatal. I have read though that they changed the tests and any rickettsia infection comes up as positive rmsf. Don't know why they would do this. I suspect many have some other rickettsia infection like rickettsia helvetica which they don't test for in US. I mean the different infections do different things and have different complications. Just added confusion to already confused tick infections

It's been 2 years and I'm in annoying pain almost constantly, lost ability to focus and concentrate on anything without my mind shutting down, became allergic to beef and pork, have a hard time getting my hands to move and work half the time, if I have 1 busy day without lots of rest between everything I do I'm completely down in pain and unable to function for days and have days where I can't eat or drink anything from not being able to control my swallowing.

A couple months after treatment I stopped randomly falling from my legs giving out but that's the only thing that stopped.

The other thing about rmsf and Lyme that bothers me the most is it makes you disabled in so many ways but the disease itself comes does it damage and if treated leaves then can't be diagnosed but leaves people suffering and in a lot of cases disabled but there's nothing to do about it since it can't be tested and labeled as a disease or disability for those who are worse off from it.

Yes, this is the main problem now with tick born infection. Not just you may still have an untreated infection but that the initial infection has done a lot of damage. Most doctors do not accept this currently. I had 2 neuro psych tests and showed some big issues with executive function. Rmsf is known to damage this area and area responsible for balance. Even with these test results the doctor would not say it was from rmsf. It's beyond frustrating.

I think so. Has anyone successfully treated chronic rickettsia with herbs?
