This Week at St. John’s – December 5, 2021This Week at St. John’s December 5, 2021 CHILDREN & YOUTH: W e are taking an offering during our Children’s Church service. Each week, one of the children will be an usher and join the other ushers in “Big Church” when they bring the offertory up to the altar. Please remind your children that they will have this opportunity to put something into the basket we pass around. It’s never too early to become good stewards of our gifts! SUNDAY SCHOOL will not take place following the 9:00 service this week. Instead, children and youth can remain in the sanctuary following the service for a run through of our Christmas Eve pageant. All children and youth are welcome regardless of whether or not they will be participating. The children and youth will be working together to tell the story of Christ’s birth and all of us can support one another and enjoy the retelling of the story even if you won’t be in the play. We will be in the sanctuary from 10:00 to about 10:40. Afterwards, Carrie will have a snack for the children in the Atrium. YOUTH GROUP- Youth Group takes place on Saturday afternoons from 2:00-3:30. We will be inside the Carriage House now that the weather is colder. Youth Group is for sixth through twelfth graders. Please bring your mask. Looking forward to seeing everyone! COFFEE AND CONVERSATION FOR ADVENT will focus on writing as a spiritual practice. Using a series written by Lauren Graeber for the Diocese of North Carolina, we will prepare for Jesus’ coming at Christmas, paying attention to God’s presence and activity in our lives. Come for one session or all four. We’ll meet on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in Kilbourne Hall, November 28 through December 19.
