What’s new on Hulu in May 2024 and what’s leaving soon

There are so many reality shows coming to Hulu in May that you could start to wonder if this was actually supposed to be the schedule for Max. Fortunately, the lineup of movies coming to Hulu in May is exceptionally strong, including Elvis, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Mask, Cast Away, Those Who Wish Me Dead, all of the Die Hard films, and more.

Because it premiered on April 30, FX’s The Veil doesn’t show up on this month’s Hulu list, but it’s bound to be one of the most popular shows of the month alongside Welcome to Wrexham season 3. There’s also new episodes of first-run network series from ABC and Fox, including the season 2 premiere of Jeopardy! Masters on May 2.

The first Saturday in May belongs to horse racing. All eyes will be on Churchill Downs for the 2024 Kentucky Derby. This year's edition is the 150th Running of the Kentucky Derby. "The Run for the Roses" is the first leg of the Triple Crown, and will be followed by the Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes.

Fierceness opened as the morning line favorite at 5-2. On the back of Fierceness will be jockey John R. Velazquez, a three-time Kentucky Derby winner. Fierceness is trained by Todd Pletcher, who won the Kentucky Derby in 2010 and 2017. Fierceness is looking to become the first horse starting from Post 17 to win.

The first weekend in May has arrived, and Hulu fans should be happy to hear that there's a new lineup of movies to enjoy. Like most of the major streamers, Hulu debuts the majority of its library additions on the first of the month. But there will more movies released on Hulu throughout May.

Since the first weekend of May is traditionally timed around the opening of a superhero movie, our first choice this weekend is a comic book film that's celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Our other two picks include Tom Hanks' directorial debut, and a generation-spanning drama that holds up three decades after its release.
