It is animated and at the beginning of the video a penguin is going up an escaltor to be a dj in front of a big crowd. Looking for a song I heard on the radio, might have been a mash up but I'm not sure.
Was a male singing. Had a kinda early 2000s r&b/hiphop feel to it.
Only lyrics I could make out were something like:
She from California (California was repeated a lot throughout the song)

It might be called "Leyla" but it's not eric clapton. It's not in English, but I don't know which language. Something with a lot of "ish/ush" sounds, like German or a related language. A woman sings it, and it's very calm relaxing music. I had it on an ipod in the 2000s so it's at least that old, probably older. Snippets of parts I can remember, just guessed at because it's another language, are "Dunya, Layla...." and "Layla, Julia (with an H sound like hulia)..." more »

What song is playing at the beginning of the UFC 300 Press Conference? It's a rock song that sounds like its from the early 2000's, a lot like Breaking Benjamin. Some of the lyrics I can parse out are "draw the line", "if i can seem alive", and "you tried to strip me of my ways".

It was a rap song I believe. It was on the radio on the way home from work and it started with the guy saying something along the lines of " this goes out to my friend you know who you are but I wont say your name." It talks about him trying to save his friend from addiction and also at some point during the song says "how can you believe in yourself if you wont let others believe in you" These are not exact lyrics but the general statement of the sentence. more »

Trying to remember this one song. I found it on spotify, by some indie artist. It was a sad song about this old ghost town, left over with empty coal mines that the narrator/protagonist of the song is reminiscing on. He lost his brother in the 'summer of 19(blank)9" If i remember the number somewhat correctly. The song ends with him visiting and visiting his old room, seeing it, and hearing his brother's voice saying 'It's just like you left it". I’m desperate to find this song I heard 5 years ago. Can you identify this dark indie alt pop track with female vocals? I only remember a few of the lyrics. This song could be considered electronic, pop, indie, r & b, slow jam, chill wave, edm, or alternative.

I’m usually a beast when it comes to finding songs online with a couple words from the lyrics. Even very dancy techno with minimal lyrics. But for some reason, I can not for the life of me, find any info on this song. I’ve tried every song finding app and website. None have been able to identify this track. I’ve even posted the lyrics in song identifying forums and chat rooms with no luck. No one seems to know a thing about this song. So that is why I am here. Hoping that someone on here can identify the song. I just really really really liked this song SO MUCH and can not see my entire life go by without it being an option to listen to on an as-needed basis.

These are the only few lyrics I was able to remember…

"still, I feel you running up my spine and when we meet it feels like a deja vu....that special kind of voodoo that you do"

and towards the end of the song I remember the very last few lyrics were...

"strange reality...sweet melody"

But that’s it. That’s all I have to go by. The song had female vocals and was a strange mix of “slow jam/r&b/pop” meets “electronic/edm/dancy beats”. It had somewhat of a darker tone to it and I’d classify it as being alternative/indie/electro/art pop. Maybe something like Grimes, Lorde, Banks, Billie Eilish, Sneaker Pimps, Warpaint, Lady Gaga or Halsey. I’d say this song probably came out some time between 2010-2019. Maybe as early as 2000. Only thing I can tell you for sure is that it was released before sometime before 2020 (2000-2019). more »

Looking for a song played over the credits of a movie from early 2010's. Country song by one of the big male stars of the genre. Same vibe as "What made you say that" by Shania Twain. I remember it being an odd choice in comparison to the rest of the soundtrack. Found the video on youtube in bad quality as a apparently it is/was rare and wasn't available on my streaming service, which is why I never added it to a playlist.   I know the thought of me succeeding makes a lot of people nauseous” which is something I think, nauseous isn’t an often used word in songs

Hello, I’m hoping I can get some help finding a song, it’s a honestly astonishing how much I’m pretty sure I remember of this song and yet I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I do have auditory processing issues but they’re not that bad, so while there’s definitely some margin of error to these lyrics I’m pretty sure they’re pretty accurate:

I believe it opens with:
“This hotel is cheap and my pillow stinks and there’s not a single thing to say it’s Christmas Eve”

And also has the lines “Oh Jesus, Joseph Mary, oh Saint Nick, I know I’m not on your list but I need a bus ticket” and something about “because it’s a long road” and it may have also had the line “no im not dead yet” but I’m not certain?

I remember as a kid the pain of moving so much and letting go of friends. There was a country song I heard that pained my heart so much and would bring me to tears because it resonated so much. I'm in therapy healing from a lifetime of pain and trauma. Since this song has stuck in my head so long after, my therapist thinks it will be really good to find the song so we can listen to it while working through it. I can't remember it well enough, other than the deep feelings of sorrow and can't find it online. I believe it was in a music video where a young girl was in the backseat looking out the back window waving and crying as they drove away. The mom said something about how hard it is saying goodbye or letting go... or maybe it was the childs grown up self as it carried over into adulthood.   I wrote a reply to this '10 years ago + inside a retail store ' recording, but I'm not seeing it. That is based upon less than the final 30 seconds of the 1:51 time.
  i ended up listening to the recording 2Xs. The first time, I thought I could hear a band/group/singer called The Cure. And, since The Cure became famous in the years before this recording, it made sense. However, the second time I listened to it, it sounded much older. More like something from the 60's.
  
  I personally use YouTube to learn how to repair, and fix issues around the house. I'm kindly suggesting that the original song seeker possibly use YouTube, or whatever, to figure out how to adjust sound with an app, &or either find someone who will help by eliminating most, maybe all of the excess noise. Given my answers are so far apart, that they are ridiculous. My suggestions are genuinely polar opposites., so best of luck to both of you. more »

OMG please help me figure out what song this is!! The song starts off with a male singing, "Do you want this doggy bone? Some other assorted lyrics I believe are, “I feel a bone coming on, every time I see you. I feel a bone coming on, girl I know you want me”. I'm trying to identify a song. My google skills have failed me. It's a Sam Cooke-ish ballad from the POV of a young man about to be drafted -- he maybe singing his plea to Uncle Sam directly. Key lyrics: "I don't wanna go" and "I don't need a four leaf clover". The song makes reference to Uncle Sam, KP, and peeling potatoes. It's in 6/8 time, and most of the song has the same chord changes as Unchained Melody (the classic C/Am/F/G7). There is a bridge section, twice, where the chord progression changes. its a sad indie piano song, sang by a male(!), the song had a long title(!) and i think the name also was long and had the name "matt or matthew" in it and a surname but im not certain(!!) the song was long-ish 4-5 min i think and the lyrics definitely didnt start until the 1-2 minute mark, the beginning of the song was long. it sounded simple but not totally acoustic, it had a sort of magical feel to it at the end (i dont know what instrument makes that *sparkly* sound) there were drums picking up slightly at the end too. the end was louder than the beginning i remember. i think the lyrics mightve included words like "clouds" or something about the universe (i literally dont remember at all) or maybe something abt fences or houses or painting was mentioned, my brain is fried im trying to find it for years i found it in 2018 (i think) so it cant be really recent. this is an 80s song with a singer that has sort of a sophisticated, mature voice, but not a top singer. The song sounds like it describes dancing all night, but the phrases are all sung haltingly, a few syllables at a time, but its hard to understand a single complete sentence, as if he might have a subtle accent. one part says "and we" then hits each syllable stopping with the syncopation of the song, and I can't make out the words. This song comes on the classic radion stations regularly. I’m looking for a pop(ish) song from a male singer. I heard it couple of weeks ago in a clothing store, but Soundhound didn’t recognise it. I don’t know if it’s old or new, but can’t find it with search engines. He is telling about the things how he’s going to treat the woman right. A scrap of a song is haunting me...it feels like it is from a jazz ballad, sung by a woman, maybe from the 40s or 50s or at least that style. The bits of lyrics I have are "...my luck will be found..." and "all through the moonlight and you". They may be adjacent to each other, or there may be other lyrics between them. Okay I’m looking for two songs I danced to as a kid, one around 2008 and one maybe around 2012? Trying to find the name and artist of a song from the mid 80's. It was a pop/new wave ep extended mix of a song. I remember there was a bunch of noise(like people yelling and/or talking-like in a club) in the background. The only line I remember from it is someone yelling, "Let's hear some music!" I think it repeats that line a few times throughout. Then all kinds of your typical 80's dub/dance noises/music. I was sure it was a Comateens cut, but I'm not finding anything like that by them. It was sent to me from a friend(who has basically disappeared from civilization) who had put it on an unlabeled mix tape he sent me back in the late 80's. Might be from an import ep. I heard a song on the radio, an obscure song on an abscure channel and i can't for the life of me figure out the song!
It was a very mellow song by a female singer that repeated "I will still pretend your Alive" in various styles of "I remember you here" and such variations, there was not much more to go on and it' sad for such a good song to disappear!
The closest I might compare it to is Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz in how calm and the music style (it was not obviously rap or rock or such clear styles) more »

This was in Western PA in 1981-82. I believe it was only a regional hit. It was played on Pittsburgh radio stations.
The sound is basically pop/light rock, in a major key.
The only lyrics I can remember is in the first verse, it mentions a woman "coming back to Pittsburgh, PA" and later on, "She said, I'm not that strong."
