What Are Examples of Graphic Software?

Some examples of graphic software include Adobe Photoshop, CorelDraw, Microsoft Paint and Picasa. A graphic software is defined as a program that can be used to create, manage or edit computer graphics rendered in two dimensions. Graphics of this type include clip art, web graphics, digital photos or logos.

Graphic software can be used in both professional and casual settings. This type of software is commonly used in the editing of digital photos prior to them being shared. Graphic software can also be used to create digital fine art, modify existing clip art or design product packaging. Scanned photos can also be touched up and modified using tools provided by the software.

Software that aids in three dimensional modeling and computer-aided design are also considered to be graphics software. However, these types of software have very specialized applications that deal with a specific industry. For example, 3-D graphics software are generally used during animation. CAD software is typically used by engineers and architects in their respective fields of work.

Some software categories are also sometimes wrongly categorized as graphics software. Software that deals with page layout, presentation creation or web publishing are not forms of graphic software, as they are not directly used to manipulate images.
