I've been on doxycycline for 6 months for hair loss. How long should I continue?

I've been on doxycycline for 6 mnths for hairloss (biopsy confirm lichenplanopolaris).Done 3 times prp. I'm on minoxidil for abt 7 mnths.Getting good results so far.No inflammation,less hairfall.So i stop the doxy for some days N my itching N burning started again so i started taking doxy again after 15 days.Now it's been 5 days n my itch N scalp tenderness is in control.How long sud i continue doxycycline? Wil my itch com back if i discontinue after several mnths?Do i have to take it lifelong?
