Scandinavia is a region in Northern Europe, comprising of the Scandinavian Peninsula, several smaller islands and archipelago. The region is bisected by the Arctic circle.
The term Scandinavia usually refers to the countries of Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark. Sometimes the country of Iceland and Faroe Islands are also included.
Although the Scandinavian Peninsula is shared by Russia, Russia is in no way considered to be any part or related to Scandinavia as a region.
Nordic Countries is another term used to refer to the countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark, together with all of their associated territories (Greenland, Svalbard, Faroe, etc).
