      Kayaking with alligators
We did this as a pre Cruise experience. So beautiful! Our guide was wonderful, very patient with a group of 7 retirement age people. I would rate this as easy to moderate. My husband and I used a double kayak, our friends each did a single, that was a bit harder for my girlfriend, but she managed. If arm strength is an issue, double Kayak is the way to go. We saw turtles and alligators, it was so cool. Beautiful mossy River, so beautiful! Really was a highlight of our entire trip!

Fantastic, fun and patient guide who went above and beyond with his time, incredibly beautiful scenery showing Florida at its most magnificent. Recommend going in water shoes in case the water is low and you have to pick up the boat in a couple of places. I usually don’t leave reviews but we had such a marvelous time. 10/10 recommend!

Coming from Michigan, my boyfriend and I love kayaking especially in cool spots so this kayak trip was so great. We were in a very small group guided by Rick who was so accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. We ended up spotting an alligator, lots of fish, turtles, and various cranes and birds eating snails in the river. The weather worked for us, not too hot and not rainy.

When we ended the trip about 30 minutes early due to low water levels, Rick offered for us to use the rental bikes and ride areas the trails for a bit. We checked out Headwaters, their rental property just outside of the park that is made of industrial shipping containers with all the amenities. Very awesome space there as well.

This is a unique kayak tour through a meandering down and upstream adventure through a cypress canopy and jungle paradise. We can't say enough about our tour guide Richard who was exceptionally knowledgeable about the river, local and state history, plants and animals alike. He prepared us for seeing alligators which we were excited and a bit frightened by but we were really in no danger. We did see several small to medium sized gators which were either floating still in the shallows or lying in the sun resting. Other wildlife included large owls and other birds, raccoons, and numerous turtles. We did get a little wet in one section when we crossed over a small dam but you do have the option of getting out and walking around the small area. I would suggest going over the dam for fun. This is a great two to two and a half hour kayak that I would highly recommend.

My wife and I decided to see a little nature so we chose this kayak trip. There was just the three of us in our group which made this very nice. Richie (Richard, Rich, Ricardo, these were the names he told us to use for this review) was an excellent guide. His quick eyesight was able to pinpoint a lot of reptiles and birds out to us. There were a lot of yellow-bellied slider turtles, some baby alligator, a 7-8 ft grown alligator, an osprey, some waterfowl, and an unexpected sight, a raccoon during the daytime. Rich was great in navigating and instructing us how to navigate the different paths of the river. This was so much fun. Expect to get a little wet though. Sometimes your paddling brings water into the kayak and your bottom gets damp. It was worth it.

A great kayaking experience. Most of the trip was shaded and cool. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and really made the adventure memorable. One thing important to note is you do travel downstream at first, but paddle upstream upon the return. It is doable for most, but it can be difficult and a tad strenuous.

We arrived at Riverbend Park and were immediately welcomed like friends. Every detail was thought of for an accommodating and flawless launch. Waterproof pouches, clean well fitting vests, nearby bathrooms, and a variety of kayaks hand picked by the crew for a customized fit.
Our tour guide, Rick the owner, navigated us through the Loxahatchee River. Within minutes we were under a canopy of tropical greenery. The modern world disappeared in the serene quiet and Rick’s historical story telling added to this amazing experience. There was a sense of adventure as we went around the bends of the river to see alligators, turtles, a variety of birds and the majestic cypress trees.
It was a very warm humid day but the climate on the river under the canopy was beautiful!
We didn’t want it to end!
After our river tour we got bikes and toured around the park, gorgeous! And again, although a hot day, the trails were shaded and comfortable. We decided to check out the Jupiter Outdoor Center’s eco retreat, a two story rental home made from storage containers, Headwaters Eco Retreat. We were so impressed with the location and lucky it was vacant that night for an impromptu stay! We are coming back with the adult kids! It feels like a campsite on the river with hotel accommodations! Truly unique!
When you’re booking your trip think about having a full day and night of adventure like we did!
Wonderful accommodating team at Jupiter Outdoor Center, truly happy to make your experience the best! Thank you Amanda! Thank you Rick! Your hospitality made us fall in love with Jupiter!

We had a great time with our guide Rihanna. She made sure everyone felt comfortable. She also made sure we saw all the wildlife that was out that day and pointed out all the indigenous plants/trees. Highly recommend the guided tour!

We had a great time on the Loxahatchee River with our guide Richard. Richard was knowledgeable and friendly. We learned interesting facts about the river and its inhabitants. We were also intrigued by the stories of the mysterious Trapper Nelson. We saw a alligators, lots of turtles(Loxahatchee-river of turtles in Seminole),fish and statuesque great blue heron. Downstream was a lazy river ride and during our return trip upstream we got a bit of a workout, but nothing too strenuous. We will definitely go back to check things out as the flora and fauna changes with each season. Thanks for a wonderful adventure Richard!

The kayak trip was filled with beautiful sights of Florida nature and wildlife along with interesting stories of the Indian inhabitants of long ago. The river was high due to recent rains, so kayaking was a bit challenging coming up river. Very much recommend this trip.

Loxahatchee River is truly different from any of the other places we’ve kayaked. Floating through a cedar forest with sparkling clear water made viewing the wildlife even more spectacular. Our guide, Candace B, comes highly recommended. She was helpful, informative, and relaxed. We were never rushed past things we wanted to photograph. Candace knew where to look for animals and her trained eye spotted many things we would have missed, such as tiny baby alligators! We always felt safe because she explained what to expect in each section of the river. This tour was the highlight of our stay in Florida.
