THE COUNTY Press had a special visitor today — a budding news reporter aged just seven!

Polly Careless has been writing her own newspapers every week, called The Weekly News, which she sells for just 5p.

She loves surprising her family with all her stories — which tells all about her week and what she has heard in the news.

Topics she has covered include "Boris is not being Prime Minister anymore and they are having a war about it" and "My family trip to Paulton's Park".

Mum Rosie puts the newspapers on Facebook for friends and family to enjoy — and they are hotly anticipated by Polly's fans.

She also sells them from her treehouse in her garden in Niton.

County Press head of content Lori Little invited Polly in to the CP office at Pyle Street in Newport to meet the team of reporters.

Polly liked our puzzle pages and she has her own version — she likes making wordsearches and quizzes.

Polly said: "I learnt that all the good stories go near the front of the paper and it is all done on computers.

"I liked visiting the County Press. A reporter is one of the jobs I would like to do. Or maybe an actor."
