Exclusive: Peloton's Olivia Amato and Daniel Waldron's Ireland Wedding

Olivia Amato and Daniel Waldron each went on their own personal journeys before they found love. "I am a true New Yorker who has never left," shares Olivia. "I started my career working on Wall Street in sales and trading, and quickly realized it wasn’t for me." She pivoted into fitness and joined the Peloton team, quickly becoming a favorite Bike, Tread, and Strength instructor for millions around the globe. "I get to inspire and motivate people every day," Olivia says of her passion.

Meanwhile, Daniel, an Engineering major from Galway, Ireland, came to New York City for a change. "He started out his career as the manager of the well-known nightclub Marquee," explains Olivia. "From there, he started a bespoke suit company called Alexander Nash. Daniel then made his way to Wall Street, where he now currently works in finance."

It was in New York where Olivia and Daniel first crossed paths. "Daniel and I met in 2015 through mutual friends, but we were both in other relationships at the time so never really got the chance to connect," shares Olivia. "Throughout that year, we would run into each other at other people's weddings and different parties but, of course, we both thought nothing of it. Years passed, and we reconnected. We were both single, met up for drinks, and the rest is history."

After falling in love, the couple got engaged in January 2021. "We had to stay local, so it was simple and private, which I loved. He knows how much I love my dog Tobi, so he involved him in the proposal and had him carry the ring on his collar. I remember him acting weird for the few days before and actually thinking he was going to break up with me!" She continues, "Daniel says he got drawn in by my smile, big heart, and that I showed him how to enjoy life. Of course, Tobi was a factor, too!"

When it came to choosing a wedding location, the couple were deciding between Ireland, where Daniel's family lives, and Italy, where Olivia has roots. "We went to visit Adare Manor last year and right away we just knew it was the place," Olivia says of their Irish wedding venue. "The second you walk on the grounds, the staff knows your name and are truly so incredible, welcoming, and hospitable. Adare Manor is such a magical place—the pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a whole experience with amazing architecture and history."

The locale and the couple's NYC home leant their influence into their "Glamorous Romance" wedding vision, which was beautiful executed by the planning team at Olivia Buckley International. "Our vision was Galway Ireland (charming and humble) meets NYC (glamorous and exhilarating). Soft palettes with elaborate floral arrangements and sleek metals created the perfect homage to our respective roots," shares Olivia.

The couple packed the itinerary with a full weekend of events for their 200 guests, who included friends, family, and even a few Peloton instructors. "Our friends and family attended from regions across the world, so ensuring everyone was entertained throughout the weekend was very important to us," says the bride.

The couple began their festivities with a rehearsal dinner at 1826 Adare, a restaurant in an Irish thatch cottage, where a traditional local band played music throughout the night. The evening concluded with welcome drinks (featuring Guinness beer, of course) at Aunty Lena's Irish Pub.

The groom wore his own brand Alexander Nash for each wedding event. Meanwhile, the bride donned a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood dress with Valentino shoes and a Self Portrait bag for her rehearsal dinner outfit. "Choosing the right stylist was important to me because I wanted to look and feel like myself on the wedding day and throughout the weekend," shares Olivia. "Julianne Costigan carefully managed my wardrobe, ensuring my outfits, accessories, hairstyles, and make-up were perfectly coordinated, and that my personality and style was at the forefront of every look."

The morning of the wedding, Daniel and his groomsmen had fun around the property after getting outfitted in their attire. The groom wore a bespoke midnight blue velvet blazer with shawl collar and black tuxedo pants from Alexander Nash.

Olivia donned a custom Brittany Allen slip and feather robe as she had her glam done for the day. Her desired look? "I wanted to look natural and glowing, but also wanted something a little elevated to match the importance of the day," she shares. "I used a lot of products that my makeup artist recommended. I did a trial with her a few months ago when I was in Ireland, so I could experiment before the actual wedding."

"Bluemercury was also a huge help in selecting products and providing me with some inspiration that I ended up using and bringing with me on my day—some products I used and loved were Chantecaille’s liquid blush. I also love all their m-61 skincare products. They have everything."

Olivia wanted a one-of-a-kind gown for her wedding day so she work with designer Mark Ingram to create a stunning custom number. "I have always loved Zendaya’s 2019 Emmy Awards dress, so I took a bit of inspiration from that for the bodice of my dress. I also wanted to wear something that felt very 'me,'" the bride shares.

The bride paired the sexy sheath with an airy custom cape by Mark Ingram and a veil by Toni Federici for her ceremony. She accented the look with Atelier Versace shoes and a few family heirlooms for her jewels.

While the bride didn't do a first look with her husband-to-be, she did do one with her wedding party, which included seven bridesmaids and three maids of honor. "The bridesmaids all got to pick their own ivory dresses! I wanted everyone to feel comfortable and beautiful," says Olivia.

Olivia had her father accompany her down the aisle of her ceremony. "I walked down the aisle to a bespoke arrangement by Nova Quartet, an instrumental of “Maestro” by Hans Zimmer—my favorite song from the movie The Holiday—and my dad’s favorite song “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses," she says.

"Inspired by a rose garden in bloom, the church florals were simple and classic with a hint of off-white to add warmth," Olivia explains of the ceremony décor. "The entrance to the church was encompassed by two magnificent floral urns that flourished into an unrefined arch. A cascade of florals descended from the interior entrance of the church, framing my entrance as I began my walk up the aisle on an ivory carpet. Along the altar, floral urns rose as a dramatic feature, serving as a dazzling backdrop for the ceremony. A symphony of candles sparked a touch of intimacy from behind the altar."

"The first time he saw me was when I reached the end of the aisle, and I was happy that is what we decided to do," says Olivia. "It made the ceremony and that moment so special."

After saying "I do," the newlyweds sped off for a moment of celebration in a vintage white Alpha Romeo convertible with the bride's white rose bouquet in tow.

Once the couple arrived at Adare Manor, they had some fun running around the grounds and snapping portraits with their photographer Sarah Falugo.

After the ceremony, Olivia updated her look by removing her custom cape and affixed an Ines di Santo bow to the back of her Mark Ingram gown. She also put on Garo Sparo gloves as a chic addition. "The effortless cape gave me the cool and unique element I was looking for, and then changing into the gloves and bow gave me the glamorous structured element," explains the bride.

After portraits, the couple rejoined their guests for cocktail hour with a special musical guest. "Laura Zimmermann flew from Germany on the morning of the wedding with her special electric violin in her hand luggage to play distinct two sets," shares Olivia. "Her first performance was a romantic, fun solo on the patio overlooking the River Maigue for the drinks reception."

Of course, Olivia couldn't celebrate her wedding without members of her Peloton family. Instructors including Ally Love, Robin Arzón, Aditi Shah, and Christine D'Ercole joined for festivities.

"With spectacular florals and sleek metals, the ballroom was decorated as a romantic, yet ultra-modern space," shares the bride. "Impressive tall arrangements framed the long banquet tables, and white and cream florals were encompassed by lush greenery." For an extra touch of glam, banquet tables were concealed by brushed gold mirror tabletops and mirror plinths.

One special moment the couple shared together? "Before all the guests entered the ballroom, Daniel and I took five minutes alone to see the room transformed for the first time and have the band play us a song as we walked through and took it all in," reminisces Olivia.

As the reception just got started, guests took to the dance floor before dinner. "We made sure it was a good blend of both Irish and American culture," adds Olivia. "Dancing when everyone arrived into the ballroom isn’t something they normally do in Ireland."

Olivia was ready to let her hair down at the reception—both literally and figuratively. "During the ceremony, I wore it in a low bun, but then for the reception I let it down! I knew I wanted it pulled back for the ceremony with my veil and I was excited to put it down later in the night," she shares. "I loved having the versatility of doing both!"

After a bit of dancing, the newlyweds and guests sat down to enjoy a menu that celebrated Irish cuisine with Fillet of Irish Beef and halibut as the main course options. "Ireland is renowned for its beef and seafood, so we wanted to share a taste of Ireland with our guests, especially those who traveled overseas," notes Olivia. "We were aware that Adare Manor goes beyond to find the most exceptional sources for their ingredients, which gave us confidence that our guests and ourselves would have an amazing dining experience."

As for drinks? "Gin & Tonic is one of my favorite cocktails, so we included a G&T Sorbet which was made with a local distilled gin, Method & Madness Gin," shares the bride.

"After dinner, The Event Band, a seven-piece function band consisting of vocalists, percussion, electric guitar, DJ, and saxophone, encouraged our friends and family back to the dance floor with a medley of crowd-pleasing classics and power ballads until the midnight hour," explains Olivia. The couple took their first turn on the floor to "Anyone" by Justin Bieber. The bride also shared a dance with her father to "Lullaby" by Billy Joel.

As the party really got going, Olivia changed into a sparkling minidress by Berta to dance into the night. She also carried a purse featuring her new last initial. "To bring the night to a crescendo, Laura Zimmerman rejoined the stage to accompany The Event Band DJ for a modern twist on the classical instrument, mixing her LED electric violin with the beats from the DJ, which was complemented with enthralling lighting show," shares the bride.

The wedding looks didn't stop there. For the after party, Olivia donned a custom Clio Peppiatt dress featuring the silhouette of her venue, Adare Manor, embroidered on it. She also wore custom rhinestone pumas designed by Kate Schaefer.

After guests got in a good night of sleep, the fun continued with a fun Waldron tradition: a post-wedding scavenger hunt. "Daniel’s dad does [it] at all of his kid's weddings," shares Olivia, who wore a fun green Prada set for the games. "He visited Adare Manor over three times throughout the year to map out the treasure hunt and come up with questions and clues. The day of, he rode around on a bike to help point people in the right direction during the treasure hunt while guests searched around the grounds of Adare Manor. Usually someone from the Waldron family wins, but this time the win was taken home by four Peloton instructors."

The wedding weekend was topped off with brunch at the Adare Manor carriage house, and ended with one last Irish tradition: a "sing song" at a local pub. The couple made sure to honor the community with their fashion choices. Olivia donned a stunning two-piece look from local designer Aoife McNamara, and Daniel wore Alexander Nash with Adare Manor cufflinks for the festivities.

Olivia and Daniel's next wedding celebration? The bride shares, "We plan to go to Bali next year for our honeymoon!"
