We've gathered here today To worship the lord in spirit and truth. Let us be minded of our continued praise of sacrifice to our god through our fruits of labor, through our fruits of our lips. In Jesus name, amen. Amen. Enjoy this worship service. Hallelujah. You may be seated. Amen. Although I'm a child and I may not know very and if you read the Bible you find a little room for doubt serving him in spirit from the inside you're my side you're my servant Jesus you must have my Jesus though I'm a challenge very much but I don't and if you read the bible you find a little room seven hand and spirits from the inside inside you're my servant you're my survi master my Jesus from the I'm going to clap my hands I'm going to start my feet I'm going to shout for joy shout for heart I say the same I'm going to clap my hands I'm going to clap my in my heart I in my heart I'm going to start my fears I'm going to shout for joy. I'm going to shout in my heart I in my heart I Oh yeah, we can praise the lord for our youth. Our young voices of Wesley, amen? As they reminded us that we serve god from the inside out. Hallelujah and I don't know about you but I came to bless the lord. I will bless the lord at all times and his praises shall continually be in my mouth because he allowed us to come out to his house of worship one more Sunday. Amen. Amen. And so he deserves all the glory, all the praise, and all of the honor. Amen. And so we thank you for joining us, livestream worshipers as well as everyone who is in the sanctuary this morning. Because we know that this is a divine appointment. Hallelujah. And so we will bless the lord at all times. Amen. I just want to tell you that our pastor will be in. She had a prior engagement this morning but she will be in probably towards the end of the service. Amen? So, just letting you know, she's fine, alright? As we love our pastor, amen. I just want to remind you, first of all, if you are a visitor, maybe a first time, second time, or third-time visitor, would you please stand so that we can acknowledge you this Hallelujah. We praise god that you have joined us because we here at Wesley believe that everyone is somebody in Jesus name and so you are here and we pray that you will be blessed by the the singing as we already are by the reading of the scripture, by the prayer, and by the preached word. Amen. Alright and if you have children this morning, they are just please let them dismiss right now. We invite you to bring your children ages toddle through fifth grade to children's church. If you have children, you can exit through those doors and someone will direct you. Amen? Amen. Hallelujah. And then our children's church ministry needs teachers. Teachers, our children church teachers nurture the love of God through his word in a caring and spiritual environment. Our desires as teachers are to be a living example of God's word as we teach through scripture based on stories, crafts, and safe play. If you are interested in teaching in Wesley's Kids Zone, ages toddlers through fifth grade, please contact the church office. Amen? Amen. And now, let us worship god in spirit and in truth. Amen? I don't know about you but I came to worship god. Hallelujah. Amen. Amen. And it is offering time. It's giving time and we clap for that as well. And so as you know at Wesley Chapel, we have five contactless ways that you're able to give and they will be on the screen in just a few minutes but we know that we can mail in our offering. If we so desire, we know that we can go online to Vanco online and we can give. We know that we can text to give which is very easy. Amen? We know that we can use the traditional offering envelope or we can come by the church during the week and drop an offering envelope in the Dropbox and it will be received. Amen. Let us bow now for word of prayer. Hallelujah. God, you've been so good to us. Better to us than we have been to ourselves and lord, you gave us your best when you gave Jesus Christ as our sacrificial lamb to pay for our sin debt, oh god. And father, we thank you for that and because you gave, lord god, we know that we should give back to you. We cannot repay you, oh god, but we can offer ourselves as living sacrifices and part of that, oh god is to give to your kingdom and so father we ask that you bless all the givings that will be received today oh god multiply them for the benefit of your kingdom here on earth bless every giver oh god abundantly oh god and pour into their laps blessings they will not have room to receive god we know that you are that kind of god and we thank you and praise you in the mighty name of Jesus amen amen and now the treasures. When Jesus say yes nobody can when Jesus nobody can say no I'm not worried about a thing because I know you are I have no fear because I to what you can do because all belongs to you yes all belongs to and all our lord I will nobody care when Jesus says nobody part of things because I know you are guiding me have no fear because I know is too much you yes when Jesus he's with me Amen. Our scripture reading this morning is coming from first Corinthians chapter fifteen and we'll be reading verses ten through twenty out of the message translation. But because god was so gracious, so very generous, here I am and I'm not about to let his grace go to waste. Haven't I worked hard trying to do more than any of the others? Even though my work didn't amount to all that much. It was god giving me the work to do. God given me the energy to do it. So, whether you heard it from me or from those others, it's all the same. Hallelujah. We spoke god's truth and you entrusted your lives. Yes. Now, let me ask you something profound yet troubling. If you became believers because you trusted the proclamation that Christ is alive, risen from the dead, how can you let people say that there is no such thing as a resurrection? If there's no resurrection, there's no living Christ, and faith, face it. Hallelujah. There's no living Christ and face it. If there's no resurrection for Christ everything we've told you is smoke and mirrors and everything you stated your life on is smoke and mirrors. Not only that, but we would be guilty of telling a string of bare faced lies about god. All these affidavits we passed on to you verifying that god raised up Christ, sheer fabrication if there's no resurrection If corpses can't be raised, then Christ wasn't because he was indeed dead and if Christ weren't raised, then all your doing is wandering about in the dark as lost as ever. It's even worse for those who died hoping in Christ and resurrection because they're already in their graves. If we, if we get out of Christ is a little inspiration for a few short years. We're a pretty sorry lot. But the truth is that Christ has been raised up. Hallelujah. The first in a long legacy of those who are going to leave the cemeteries. This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God. Amen. May be seated. Good morning again. Good morning. It's prayer time. The altar's open for those who would like to come and kneel down before the lord and present to the lord that which is on your heart. Amen? Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. For this is the day that the lord has made. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. For we reverence you lord. We thank you lord. Hallelujah. We thank you father god. Father god, we come before you as about people father god. Thanking you father god for your precious glory. For you are it god. So, we exalt you. Father god, we come bow before you, seeing you as Abba, as our father, father god, who loves us and calls all things to work together for our good. Father, we come bowed for you for being Jehovah Jireh, father, god. The one who provides for us, father god. Where none of our needs go lacking. Father god, we come before you as Jehovah Rapha father god. Seeking you to heal us from all infirmities father god. So we just thank you father god. Father god, we just come for you, come before you, and thank you for being our peace that surpasses all understanding and father god, most of all, we come before you and thank you for being our savior, father god, for dying on the cross, father god, taking everything all our cares and concerns to the cross and resurrecting father god so that we can have life. Life more abundantly father god. Eternal life in you father god. So we just lift our voices up to you. Our prayers up to you. You say that when praises go up, blessings come down. So, father, I come on behalf of your people, father, the church. We are pour not our hearts unto you. Whatever our cares are, you said to cast our cares on you, father. For you are faithful, father god. For your promise are yes and amen, father god. So, father god, we are in trying times, father god. We said that there will be rumors of wars. Father god, when we look at the news, we just see all kind of chaos father god. Father god, you said that there will be family against family, father god. People will be lovers of themselves father god. So, when we look at society, father god, we see all kind of chaos where people are being about them. Instead of doing what you call us to do, of loving our neighbor, father god. Father god, you said it would be famine. So, when we go in the grocery stores, father god, we see extended prices in everywhere, father god but you said for us not to be worried about these things, father god. You said that these things are going to happen, father god. But for those who have hope in you father god, you are faithful father god. So, we just thank you father god that you're shielding us, that you're covering us, father god, For you say, if we live in you and abide in you, you abide in us, father god and we can ask what we will, father god. So, father god, we come before you and we cast our cares on you because your yoke is easy father god and we just thank you. We thank you for all that you're doing. We thank you for building our families father god. Returning our families back to what you called us to be father god which is in you. For our entire household will serve you father god. Father god, we thank you for restoring our relationships whether be our marriages, our kids, work relationship, church relationships. So, we just thank you father god for if we first seek you in the kingdom and your righteousness, we can ask all these things. So, we ask that you rebuild, rebuild our finances, take back the our wealth from the wicked and and return it to the just, father god. So, in all these things, father god, we just seek you. We pour our hearts onto you and we just send up a praise of worship, of hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, father for you are worthy to be praised and we just thank you. Father god, we lift up our proclaimer today. Reverend Race, father god. Thank you for using her during this time of need, father god. Bless her in every area of her life for being a servant onto you father god. Let us father god be hearers of the word, not just doer. Let the word that come to her her heart and her mouth be a meditation unto you father god. Let it touch us and renew our minds and restore us. Transforming us as disciples to go out into the world father and do your will. Father god, this is our prayer and we just exalt you and we just thank you for your word and and who you are In Jesus name, amen. Amen. Amen. Lord you know that I'm your child and I'm doing the best that I can so toss my work is so lord I just don't I need you oh lord I'm going to keep running for my Jesus even if I have to run along because it's my determination to make us beautiful more lord right now right now, right now, right now, lord you know that I'm your and I'm doing the best that I can sometimes my way gets so but I just don't I'm going to keep running for my Jesus even if I have to because it's my determination to make us beautiful right now right now I say hold me hold me Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus rock me on me Jesus oh lord I need you rock me rock me rock me hurry Jesus we hold me hold me Jesus oh lord One more time. **** **** **** **** Jesus rock behind me hold me hold me Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you. Young Voices of Wesley. Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Amen. Can cause us to hold on Amen. To rock on. And to see what the end will be. Amen. Amen. Amen. It's an honor as usual to have the opportunity I'm glad pastor has made it with her super cape on. She blessed us with these scarves and so we're blessed to the things she does for the team and for all of us. I'm so glad that things went well and you're here with us. Thank you. You know, I'm Think about the condition of the world. Yeah. And I know that humanity is on the precipice of being both in a mess and a universal example of hope and love. I don't understand how cousins in the Middle East can have so much animosity towards each other. That they are willing to send all of us to either heaven or hell. Jews are ushering in the coming Messiah Christians are anticipating the Messiah's return. And Muslims seem to just simply get caught in the middle of it all. Amen. Three faith groups. Serving one monotheistic god. Is become more critical now to know where does your hope lie? In a temporal life here and now or an eternal one by faith. The choice is ours and now because our bodies will not last forever. Amen. In his book, Where is God When It Hurts? Philip Yancey shares that African Muslims have a unique funeral custom Close family and friends circled the casket and they quietly gaze at the corpse. There's no singing, no flowers, and no tears. And then a piece of peppermint is passed to everyone. And when a signal is given, each one puts the candy in his or her mouth. When the candy is gone, each participant is reminded that life for this person is over. For them, life simply dissolves. But thankfully, the foundation of Christianity rests in the following truth. Yes. That through the resurrection of Christ. Yeah. There is life after death. And that if Christ had not risen from the dead, there would be no eternal life. Yes. Any of us today. The two are synonymous. Yes. Is the doctrine of his death and resurrection that guarantees life everlasting. And so today, we are faced with two quandaries. The first one is hope as found in this temporal life. How limited this must sound to our ears for our time here as a biological species is in really, truthfully, quite short In fact, according to the United Nations in 20 twenty-four, the average life expectancy in the United States is rounded up to about 80 years old. Yet we rank 47th globally. The top 10 countries ranging from 86 to 84 include Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Switzerland, Singapore, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Malta, and Australia. Now, what we don't want you to do in hearing that is calling in next week and saying that your passport, your citizenship, and your associate membership can be accessed in beautiful Hong Kong. Truthfully, many of us like Mother Brown have long outlived all of these average figures. Yet the truth is life in its natural form is finite. Yes. Young people, where'd you go? See, they've already been raptured up. But when we're their age, we believe that we will never grow old And then when we become seasoned seniors, we wonder where did our youth go? A pivotal moment in our lives is when we consider our own existence regarding life beyond the grave. Yeah. And sadly enough, it is through the absence of a greater hope and belief that our destiny is potentially sealed with zero further awareness of better days to come. Yet the good news is we are far more than what the grave would ever have us believe. Yeah. Yeah. Where spirit. Yeah. And we're created for so much more. Yes. Is hope. Yeah. And this hope occurred two weeks ago through an empty tomb. Yeah. Our faith is girded in a risen savior, Jesus Christ. Yeah. So, when we seek not to limit death to the grave, then, we will walk with the blessed assurance that six feet under has been conquered through Christ. Don't worry about a thing. Every little thing is going to be alright. And secondly, when we have hope in eternal life through Christ. Yes. We can build a sacred relationship with the one that we call, not only savior but friend. Amen. And we can anticipate the next scenario. Yes. There was a young African named Lawrence and he was a student in his first sermon in preaching class. He chose a text describing the joys we'll share. When Christ returns. Yes. And ushers to our heavenly home. But he also shared, I've been in the United States for several months. I've seen the great wealth that is here. The fine homes and cars and clothes. I've listened to many sermons in churches here too. Yeah. But I've yet to hear one sermon. Yes. About heaven. Amen. It would appear that everyone has so much in this country that noone preaches about heaven. People here don't seem to need it. But in my country, most people have very little. So, we preach on heaven all the time but we know how much we need it. Yeah. But you know, in our historical reference, there was a time when the struggle was so real for an enslaved peoples. We had songs like heaven, heaven, going to shout all over god's heaven. And Mahalia Jackson's rendition of a city called Heaven. Amen. Which said that I am on a pilgrim journey of sorrow. I'm left in this whole wide world. I'm in this wide world alone. I have no hope for tomorrow but I've started to make heaven my home. Well, sometimes I'm tossed, sometimes I'm driven low. Sometimes, my dear lord, I just don't know. To which way I can roam. Which way? But I heard of a city called heaven. And I've started to make heaven my home. Is he having for most lies in the hope of glorious found through belief in our lord and savior. The one who stepped in as the redeemer of the world. Yeah. And offered all of us redemption and salvation. Amen. It's been said that true believers, though not ignorant of what the lord has done for in and by them, yet when they look at their whole conduct and their obligations, they are led to fill. That none are worthless as they are Yet, it was for Christ to the disciples. And the disciples into the world that we follow Christ. Yes. As the gatekeeper of life eternal. Yes. All true Christians believe that Jesus Christ and him crucified and then risen from the dead is the sum and substance of Christianity. But without a grace filled risen savior. There is no eternal life. But death. So, which path do we choose today On this day? Well, here's a story about a man who was walking along the beach and he spotted a bottle that had washed up on the shore and he went over and he picked that bottle up and noticed a weathered map was inside with treasures to be found in the shallow waters below. He thought it was a hoax. So, he threw the bottle back into the ocean. Later on man came along and found the bottle with the treasure map in it and he was curious enough to wade into the water and hoped it was shallow, shallow, enough to find. But once the cold water hit his thighs, he decided to quit. Amen. This is not worth it. So, like the first man, he chucked the bottle back into the ocean and then the third man was walking by the beach and noticed the bottle with the map in it and he looked at it and he said, it looks authentic. It promises treasure. So, he got a small raft, set out into the ocean to claim the treasure. He found the ex on the map and saw something shining below. He dove into the water and saw a treasure chest. He could not reach it and the deeper he went, the greater the water conditions affected him. He just knew his wrath would be swept away and he would be left stranded. So, the man decided to give up the hunt. So, he would ensure his own life and safety. He too toss the bottle back on the beach once he reached shore. But finally, one more man walked along the beach. He found the bottle, popped it open, was excited to find the map with the promise of great treasure. He noticed that someone had left a raft. So, he took it and paddled out. He found the X mark and saw the treasure chest below. He plunged into the water and like the last man felt the cold. Yes. Knew he was in darkness and pressure upon his senses as he got closer. He knew the risk, loss of breath, the wrath, and even his own life. Amen. But this treasure could be worth all the risk. Yeah. So he persisted. And just as he was about to give up, he grabbed the chain, binding the chest, and pulled it up along with himself back to the surface. Exhausted, he paddled back to shore with the treasure chest. And inside of the chest was what had been promised. Gold, diamonds, and jewels that would make him secure for the rest of his life. Which leads to the last point. A grace-filled relationship with god is similar to a treasure hunt. The author of the story shares. People hear the same message. But the way they receive it will determine the reward that they may find. Eternal life is waiting for all those who are willing to take that risk. To follow god all the way of life. Amen. Where we find love, forgiveness, and life everlasting. That is where our treasure is found. Amen. You see, we believe in vain unless we keep the faith of the gospel. Yeah. If we look beyond the grave on our journeys and we see god's promises of eternal glory, then we will have found the most important treasure of all. Amen. The Pearl, our lord and savior. Amen. And eternal life. Amen The Gospel of John 3 sixteen. You hear it all the time. You see it on trucks everywhere But for god so loved the world. That he gave his only begotten son. Yes. That whosoever believeth in him would not perish. Yes. But have everlasting life. Amen. Thanks be to god. For that good news. That heaven bound news. That eternal life news. That sustaining news. The hope of glory news. May you be found daily. Yes. Seeking to serve. Seeking to make disciples of Christ. Yes. So that others don't live like diver number one. Yeah. Shallow walker number two. Yeah. Darkness number three. Yes. But will go all the way. Yes. To the end. Yes. With your lord and savior. Yes. Who's that only your savior But is your friend? Yes. And before we do the invitation to Christian Discipleship, I want us to listen to Mahalia Jackson sing, a city called heaven. Emma pilgrim sorrow left in what there's no hope but all to make our heaven lord so and I've driven I don't know where to wait I but I've heard of a city called heaven to make a heaven long Amen. You see, there was a time in our lives when weeping and wailing about a place called heaven. Yes. Was god, what got us through the week If we are wailing at least one day out of the week, for our lord and savior and our relationship with him and the promises that he told us through his death and resurrection. Amen. That we have a home beyond this then where are we on our walk of faith As the doors of the church are open, come As you are broken mended, whole, desperate, Whatever the case may be, come as you are It's time to make heaven your home It's okay to have nice things and to dwell upon the things that are a part of this world. But don't make the temporary your home. Don't make the temporary your home. We have too much to do as believers in Christ To rest on the laurels of giving our lives to Christ. There's so much more we need to do for our blessed lord and savior. Because there are many who want to be on this journey. Of love. So love. Of hope. Of faith. With the risen faith, savior who was pierced in his side, who was bruised for our iniquities. On the cross for all of us. The time is now. Come as you are and let god use you Once you accept him, once you walk with him. Yes. Come as you are. He doesn't care what you look like. What you're going through, he wants to meet you at your points of needs. You can crawl. you can run. You can walk to him but come to god. Come to Jesus. Let spirit be your guide. Where at the end of the day, if it had not been for the lord on our side, where would we No hope, no glory, no love. In the midst of a broken world. With temporal bodies. So Just trust him. Trust and obey. For there's no other way but to give god the glory, the honor, and the praise. Begotten son Cover one another with prayer. Speak life into one another. Don't let anyone walk around thinking that they don't have hope. That they don't have a life in god. But we all are equally bound to that commitment of god. Trust and believe. They shall have shall have. Yes. Everlasting striving Eternal life. Forever and ever and ever Life. Life. Thank you, lord. For your goodness and your mercies. You may be seated. Amen. To god be the glory. To god be the honor and to god be the praise. Can we thank god for his word on this morning? Oh, come on. Let's bless the heaven for the woman of god and the word of god. And we give god glory. As god continues to move by his word, by his spirit, and by his power. We thank god for brother Brett. Don't lead too soon. Amen. Amen. Brother Brett Barrett Williams. Amen. Already is a professor of of the faith. Says he know Jesus but he's not going to he's from Dallas, Texas. California. California by way of Dallas. Amen. He said, he's not going to just get in here not too many weeks, a few weeks ago but he said that he's not going to wait for trial in the church to do what god has called him to do. I love away that sound. I don't have to wait to see what the church going to do because I know Jesus. So, we receive him on today. I did share with him and we're going to ease this way a little bit. Amen. That we just have a few words that we would like to ask him this morning and we will ask him those few words and we will pray with him, pray for him, pray over him but above all, we continue to declare god's glory in this place. Amen. From the grave to grace. Thank you. Reverend Race for that wonderful, wonderful word. Well, brother Brett, without asking, I but I have to ask you, do you believe that the Bible, the sixty-six books in the Bible, 39 in the old, 27 in the new contain it, the word of god, that when you need a road map, when you need navigation, when you need Google Maps, when you're in distress to find Jesus, do you believe that those, the book of the Bible can give you everything that you need? Yes, I do. Do you believe that Jesus suffered? The same Jesus I'm talking about died and he was buried and and resurrected from the dead. Yes, I do. Will you support this great ministry with your prayers, your witness, your gift, your talents, your gifts, your presence, and everything within you that god has given you in this season of ministry. Yes, I will. Can we welcome our dear brother to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church here in McDonough or we can do better than that. Make a joyful noise unto the lord for he stepped into the church. could've stepped in a different direction but god. But god. From the grave to the grace. I like that reverend Shari. I'm feeling that in my spirit right now. Let us pray together clergy with him. Amen? Amen. How sweet it is to be able to move from one setting to the other and take god with you. Yes. And so as we celebrate your combining and joining this faithful body of believers, we ask that god blesses you, that he keeps you, and that he daily makes his face to shine upon you. That no matter what you go through, he walks with you. No matter what you see around you, you have the of glory. Amen. And you have the love of this body and you have the love of God. That walks with you, talks with you, and says he's your friend. And sometimes that's all we need is to know that truth. Yes. So walk a while longer. Yes. And let God use you and see what the end will be. In your name we pray, Lord. Watch over our servant. Amen. Amen. We continue to celebrate the goodness of our god and what almighty god we serve. We are so grateful for what god continues to do in the life of our ministry as we continue to prepare, plan, and pray but let me just change the order because we pray first. Prepare and plan and then we pray some more. Because we believe that god is with us. Amen. Not just some of the time but all of the time. I want to thank god for our children who have already left the sanctuary. Oh lord, I need you to hold my hand Right now, in the next minute, in the next hour, certainly in the next day, in the next week, we need god to hold our hand. Amen? And then we thank god for our proclaimer, reverend the reverend Shari Rates. Thank you. For such a rich word from the lord. Just want to keep us reminded That everyday is a day of Thanksgiving And as we Keep on trusting God in this season. We're trusting God for the unthinkable, for the unimaginable because that's where our faith lies. Amen. We have the privilege to stand early this morning at another ministry and we talked about being deep rooted in the faith. So, we have to be deep rooted in order for us to be able to grow up. Amen, somebody. We have to grow up but you have to be deep rooted because when storm, wind, clouds come. You better that you're anchored in the lord. Amen. Thank god again for our children and for all of our support team around the the the sanctuary. I cannot, I cannot negate thinking these young men and young men and brother Chris or brother Chris, you may say, young men across the board. They have been holding down the sound booth. Amen. Wave. Thank god for them. Amen? Amen. Likewise in the other media side of our ministry but we still need more support. Amen? So, we want to solicit all for all of our ministries, the support that we need to continue to serve in this presence age to do what god has called us to do. We're going to ask our proclaimed bird to come back and prepare for the addiction and the sending forth. Good to see each and everyone of you and as we often say, may the lord bless you real good. As we all stand to receive the benediction This is a generational benediction. It's been passed on From me, to me, from others. And it simply says that in your joys and in your sorrows. In your plenty and in your needs. And you're going out. Yes. And in your coming in. May the hope of glory. Yes. May the love of God. May eternal life be a part of our journey Till we meet again. Thanks be to god as we sing together. What a wonderful rich bird. Good to see you.
