(''Series/{{Taken}}'')

** While he is at home alone, Jesse Keys sees bright lights coming through the window and believes that he is about to be abducted. He goes outside and starts shouting, telling the aliens to leave his family alone. In the confusion, he pushes someone to the ground. It turns out that the lights were from his wife Amelia's car and the person that he pushed was Charlie. The entire family is shaken by the incident. After ten years of marriage, Jesse finally confesses to Amelia that he has been abducted by aliens multiple times and his apparent tumor is an implant that they placed in his head. Amelia believes that it is all in his mind, a symptom of post-traumatic stress due to his service in the Vietnam War, and convinces him to see a doctor for Charlie's sake. (''Series/{{Taken}}'')
* October 30:
** Tom Clarke appears on television to refute his previous claims that stories of alien abductions and flying saucers were nothing more than a [[GovernmentConspiracy conspiracy]]. When the interviewer asks him why he has gone from a debunker to a believer, he says that he has personal information but does not elaborate. His half-brother Jacob is concerned that Tom will reveal his alien heritage to the world while Eric Crawford is curious as to what changed his mind on the issue. (''Series/{{Taken}}'')
** In the Rivers Clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota, the neurosurgeon Dr. Franklin Traub tells Jesse Keys and his wife Amelia that the implant is in fact a metallic deposit caused by exposure to unusual chemicals and that it can be dispersed using ultrasound therapy. Jesse is not convinced but he nevertheless agrees to the therapy as he does not want to run the risk of hurting Charlie. He warns Amelia that the UFO project may be looking for him, not realizing that Dr. Traub is one of their field agents. Based on the age progression sketch that he previously received, Traub tells Dr. Chet Wakeman that he has found Jesse Keys. (''Series/{{Taken}}'')

** Jesse Keys realizes that "Dr. Patterson" is an agent of the UFO project as he is aware that the little men that he sees are grey without being told. He renders the agent unconscious and escapes. Although the real Jesse arrives and tries his best to protect his son, they are nevertheless both abducted. This is the first time that Charlie is abducted and the last time that Jesse is. When they are returned to Earth, Jesse is suffering brain damage from the implant. After he is brought to hospital, the implant falls out of his nose. To Eric's irritation, Tom says, "Still don't know how to fly it, do you?" Another, much larger and fully operational alien ship then appears overhead.
