I arrived at the Memorial early on a Tuesday morning before the tourist and school groups arrived, and for at least 15 minutes had the Memorial to myself.
The Memorial is an impressive building based on Neo classical architecture and the sculpture of Lincoln is fantastic, The murals and inscription on the walls inside are also very impressive. There is some construction taking place outside of the memorial so this sails the exterior views of the front of the structure.
There are also great views of the National Mall, Monument and Capitol Building from the Memorial. It can become very busy at peak times so visit early as I did.

A fantastic experience, I am a big AG fan and I work in the industry so to get this close up to so many AG and to see the write ups in details was fantastic. I would say a must see for all AG enthusiasts .

As the weather was poor, I decided to visit the museum, and it seemed everyone else had the same idea. As it ws free to enter, not time slots and Spring Break, it was organised chaos when you were inside. I didn't see as much as I wanted to due the vast amount of visitors, a shame really.

Definitely a must see when visiting DC. This was my favorite building in the city. Beautiful interior and architecture. There were QR codes that you could scan and listen to a self guided audio tour which was neat.

For art lovers, this is a must-go. It mainly depends upon you about the time it takes to move around. If you love arts more than yourself then even a day or month does not suffice otherwise just two hours or may be an hour is great.

A must see and visit. Even though free you need tickets to get in. Get the tickets early! We tried a week before and could not get one. We we went anyway and got there 30 min early to be at the front of the line in hopes of maybe getting a ticket. They were passing out tickets to first come first serve so we got in first thing. Lots of people and student tours so it was crowed. But a fantastic, informative and sad part of our history.

When I first heard what design had been selected for this memorial, I thought it grossly inartistic and unworthy of what was to be memorialized. When I saw it in person , I realized how wrong I was. This is utterly compelling and a must stop for DC visitors.

I was walking along the National Mall and saw the Korean War Veterans Monument in the distance.
The sculptures are very life like and the plaque to the fallen was very moving.

Everyone should visit Washington DC. Museums, monuments explain the Nation's history. No one knows it all but this is an excellent place to dust off your high school/college US history classes.

The general tour can be booked online either close to, or during your trip if you’re going to be in DC for several days. I’d block half a day to account for getting there and managing the security checkin. There’s also a cafeteria style area if you want to fit in a food break.
Either before or after the guided tour, spend time in the Exhibition Hall. It highlights the importance of civic engagement by citizens. There are videos about the Senate and the House that explained how our elected representatives should be working for us all.

Beautiful monument. From all sides. My favorite side is where the Lincoln memorial is with the reflection pond. It’s a beautiful view.

There is so much to discover in this museum beyond what one might expect. I spent several hours and learned much more about a major part of American history and events that occurred during my lifetime, and are part of today and the future.
I had a little trouble finding the correct link for the timed ticket reservation that you need for this museum. Possibly because it was a busy time. A guard at the tour entrance to the museum directed me to a QR code for the tickets and I get one for that afternoon.

Excellent museum with varying exhibits. It shares space with the American Art Museum. The Amish Quilt Exhibit is fantastic. We did participate in the free docent-lead tour and the lady we had was just beyond excellent. I wish I remembered her name but she is a retired librarian and extremely knowledgeable. There is so much to see here!

You can get access to the theatre where Lincoln was shot, plus on the bottom level, there is a “museum” all about Lincoln. I found this very informative and fascinating. Then you get to go across the street to the house where Lincoln died. A lot of history here!!
