Paid advertisements masquerade as official WPost content
1 Star
Paid advertisements masquerade as official WPost content
Pros:- Generally good content from Washington Post, when it *is* from Washington Post.Cons:- Very poor at maintaining position when leaving and returning to app (on Kindle, at least).- Advertisements masquerade as content. In the old print days you could easily spot full-page ads because they would be printed in a different font. No longer—full advertisements are now presented to look exactly like factual articles, the only distinguishing feature being the byline. I'm paying for the content; i don't know why i'm seeing ads *at all* let alone presented in a way that i must scrutinize them to know that they are ads. The Post's journalistic integrity has reached nadir in this app. (See attached screenshot; the one on the left is a paid ad.)
