I really like this gadget. It's easy to use, pulls the cork out cleanly and looks good. A couple of points: 1. You do have to use two hands -- one to hold the bottle or the bottle will just spin; 2. Do not use this with a wine that has a wax seal over the cork without removing the wax (wine such as Toasted Head, etc.). The wax will get stuck in the opener and won't come out. We've had a lot of wine openers over the years and this one is very simple and my 83-year old mother loves it! Her arthritis made it difficult for her to use traditional openers.

I replaced an older model of this product with another which I had for many years. The one quirk is that it is sometimes difficult to remove cork when it is coiled within the opener but not often enough or difficult enough to not warrant its use. Certainly easier than any corkscrew I ever used.

I wanted to like this, but similar to other reviews, I had the cork become stuck on the 2nd bottle I opened. It was very difficult to remove. I had a different model for many years and never had the cork become stuck after removing it from the bottle. I am returning this item and ordering the item I had previously. I think there is a design flaw in this model that let's the cork become stuck for some reason. Either that or it doesn't work well with the plastic corks they are putting in wine bottles now.

It worked fine for about a month (opening two bottles a week) until a cork got stuck inside. It is not serviceable and I was unable to remove the stuck cork by any method I could find online. The opener is now in the trash.

Looks good, works great. Bought another brand few months ago, which I had to return to store as it did not charge anymore after one month of use. This Waring is by far sturdier and feels more powerful in the same price range. Not sure if this would open 50 bottles with one charge as advertised, but no need to try, just charge every few weeks and it is good to go.

I demonstrated this product to my friends at a recent party. I have only had it for a short period of time but it performed without fail. My guest were amazed and will be making their own purchases very soon. Such a great improvement from the many other devices I have used. I love it.

UPDATE: It was great while it lasted. After struggling with a number of instances where the cork became stuck--but I was able to remove the cork with a device--this last incident with a stuck cork is probably impossible to remedy. Such a short operational life requires me to change my previous rating. I would not recommend this item for purchase based on failures during--you might say--a test period.

I've tried lots of electric wine openers and this one is the best. Has the most powerful motor of all of them. Should last a long time. Fast forward to Dec. 2015......This thing just quit working! It goes about 1/4 way into the cork and just stops.
