It is so hard to say good bye to a Friend. Walter was not only my Friend but a co-worker for almost 26 years. The things I am going to miss most about Walter is his very dry sense of humor and his mischief. Walter loved pulling jokes on people. I don't remember Walter ever raising his voice. The LaGrange retired Co-Workers met for lunch many times, yet not enough. Walter, I also want to thank you so much for your service to our Country. Walter, you will be missed by so many.

Through all the years I have known Mr Dance he always had a smile on his face , he was always in a good mood and a funny guy . He will be missed , Wally and Cyndi I am sorry for your loss .

Walter was such a fun person.  Although quiet sometimes, he could always make me smile with something he said.  He was a Rehab Counselor in LaGrange and I was a secretary with Rehab in Columbus.  I always looked forward to meetings where we'd be in the same place because he was such a joy to be around.  He was certainly a special person and will be missed.

May the powerful words recorded in the Bible at Matthew 5:4 encourage and strengthen your saddened heart.

Such a kind man and lovely neighbor. My sincere condolences to his loving family.

I worked with Walter from 1973 until his retirement from Vocational Rehabilitation.  He was a true southern gentleman.  He always had a smile for everyone and was very kind to all he met.  All of us who worked with Walter loved him.  He had a wonderful sense of humor.  He was a United States Navy veteran and a graduate of the University of Georgia (M.Ed. degree).  We will all miss him, and we will never, ever forget him.  Melba Templeton

Walter was our '59 LHS Classmate, who we all loved over the years as a kind, gentle soul.  He always cared more for those around him than himself.  I feel honored to have known Walter and blessed that his passing serves as a reminder to forgive, share, explore, and love. I can think of no greater way to honor him than to live as he lived.

Walter always had a smile and a funny story for everyone. He will be missed by all his '59 classmates and so many friends and family.  He was also a member of the LHS State champion football team and a US Navy vet.

So sorry to read of Walter's passing.  I worked with him at Voc Rehab, he in LaGrange and I was in Columbus.  He always had a smile and kind words for everyone.  Such a delight to be around and to work with.  We need more people in the world like Walter.  Please know everyone who knew Walter will be saddened by this loss.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Walter Dance.  I remember him and his keen sense of humor with appreciation from the years in which we were regional colleagues in the Vocational Rehabilitation program.
