Vueling Airlines (VY) is a Spain-based low-cost carrier and is the country's second largest airline. The airline flies non-stop to about 155 destinations in Europe, Asia and Africa. Vueling aircraft feature a single Economy Class cabin, though passengers can pay extra for preferred seating with extra legroom or toward the front of the plane. The airline has two hubs: Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) and Rome's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO), as well as 14 operating bases in Brussels, France, the Netherlands and Spain.

Please consider the following if you are disabled: 1. Vueling had only one bag drop counter assistant at LGW departures on Sunday morning May 19th. We had requested special assistance beforehand but were treated as normal passengers in seriously over crowded checkin facilities, inefficient handling procedures and total system overload. This delayed us in getting to the counter on time for the bag drop despite having arrived at the airport 2 hours before the flight departure time. Additionally we did ask the que controller to put an extra assistant on the line but nothing was actually done. 2. Vueling sells insurance, which we did purchase. It is marketed as standard cover, which is confusing since it seems to have no benefit to it’s customers at all.…

You are the most inept airline I have ever dealt with in my life. I’ve never come across a company who puts such a low quality of service on helping its customers in my life. I will never use you again and cannot warn people enough to stay far far away from using this airline. Lady at boarding gate told me my bag was too heavy (without even weighing it) and told me I had to pay for checked in bag. Paid, got the baggage ticket and that was the last I saw of my bag, have gone through all the systems trying to locate it but it seems they genuinely do not have a system to find and pair people with their missing bags. Hopefully you will reimburse the cost of the missing luggage but I’m not holding holding my breath on their either.…

After reading mixed reviews, I wanted to share our experience as we’d never travelled with Vueling before. Ahead of our travel day, there was some unclear communication about luggage allowances - so check yours if travelling with Iberia/Vueling. Online check in and seat reservations seemed to work fine though. But onto the day itself - airport check in and bag drop was fairly painless. One issue was caused by myself, and we had another issue that one of our cases didn’t have a side handle so needed manual intervention from a helpful staff member to get through the automated scanner. We were concerned over the size of one hand luggage item but that wasn’t an issue. No issue with boarding, nor the flight itself. The only mild problem was the passport control at BCN being so busy, but that’s not the airlines fault. No lost bags, happy enough.…

Be careful that you read the small print with your carry on luggage allowance. Flying from London to Barcelona all of our cases were within the size limits. Flying back from Barcelona to London they told us the same cases were too big, and we had to pay 5 x €70 to take our bags on. Felt like quite a sneaky and underhand way of just juicing more money out of their customers.…
