This review is solely for the 'meat market' aspect of the Village Meat Market & Cafe. (Although, I'm definitely planning to stop in for a bite!) I came in right when the opened. Lou, the owner, greeted me with a smile. First, I perused the quaint and homey cafe. I then browsed the meat counter... seeing many sausages featured. Andouille, bratwurst, jaternice, ring bologna, summer sausage, Italian sausage, wieners... and more! Decisions, decisions. I went with the andouille and while I am sure some of it was my excellent cooking skills ;)-- the sausage was perfect. So much flavor with just a little kick. I'd totally recommend it. I think the prices seemed on point. The beef tongue, pig ears, pork feet, pork tongs and smoked shanks were all more specialized then I was used to seeing. Not to mention the braunschweiger, liverwurst, mortadella and pit ham! Very cool shop. Fabulous service. A Czech Village staple, for sure. Come shop local!
