The V&A’s permanent collection contains 2.3 million objects. You’ll find examples of architecture, painting, sculpture, fashion, textiles, ceramics and jewellery from around the world.

Just some of the highlights of the museum include the Photography Centre and the Cast Courts, where you’ll find copies of Michelangelo’s David and Trajan’s Column. You should also drop by The Raphael Cartoons, showcasing seven full-scale tapestry designs by the Renaissance master for the Sistine Chapel.

How to get there

The nearest Tube station to the V&A is South Kensington (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines), which is a five-minute walk away. Gloucester Road (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines) is 10 minutes' away.

Various bus routes stop close to the museum.

There are Santander Cycles docking stations on Exhibition Road and Thurloe Place.
