EVERY Transformer In Bumblebee Movie's G1 Cybertron Battle

The Cybertron sequence at the start of Bumblebee features a lot of classic G1 Transformers: here's every Autobot and Decepticon in the movie. Although Bumblebee is a smaller-scale prequel, with a lower budget (it cost $100 million, compared to Transformers: The Last Knight's $217 million last year) and more intimate story, that doesn't mean it's lacking in big picture Transformers action. Indeed, the opening five minutes offer more thrills than five whole movies from Michael Bay.

Bumblebee opens with an action sequence that is essentially the classic G1 Transformers cartoon writ large in live-action. Cybertron has fallen and the Autobots are rushing to retreat as Decepticon Seekers chase them down. It's a little Superman, a little Star Wars, but with the amount of robots in disguise changing up all over the place, unmistakably Transformers. We got a taste of this scene from Bumblebee's trailer, but nothing could have prepared for how densely packed it is with G1 designs.

Of course, Bumblebee's G1 Cybertron sequence is over so fast that it can be hard to pick up which Transformers appear. Fortunately, we've dove right in and collected everything we could find!

There are several characters that we couldn't pick out in Bumblebee's opening sequence, chiefly the film's primary Decepticons who pursue B-127 to Earth: Shatter (Angela Bassett), Dropkick (Justin Theroux) and Blitzwing (David Sobolov). They're not listed here (although given their status would be impossible to miss).

Autobots In Bumblebee's Cybertron Sequence

WARNING: Spoilers for Bumblebee ahead.

First in Bumblebee's G1 Cybertron sequence are the Autobots, initially collected together before they rush to get to escape pods.

Bumblebee: The star of the film, B-127 is sent to Earth where he disguises himself as a Volkswagen Beetle (and later a Chevy Camaro). He's been in every previous Transformers film and here has his real voice played by Dylan O'Brien.
Optimus Prime: Voiced, as always, by Peter Cullen, Optimus oversees the evacuation of Cybertron, sending B-127 to Earth. He later appears via hologram recording and eventually meets up with Bumblebee at the end.
Arcee: The most well-known female Autobot, Arcee is one of the first seen on Cybertron in Bumblebee. She previously appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, but looking nothing like her G1 design here (bar pink paint job). She's voiced by Grey Griffin.
Wheeljack: Another of the fleeing Autobots, Wheeljack is a Transformer scientist, with Steve Blum providing the voice. He had a supporting role in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, where he was killed by Barricade.
Brawn: Making his cinematic debut (although he did appear in spinoff material to the Bay continuity) is Brawn, voiced by Kirk Baily. He's an Autobot commando and, in the original cartoon, the strongest of the team.
Cliffjumper: Optimus Prime's lieutenant, Cliffjumper gets a fairly substantial (if unfortunate) cameo in his first Transformers movie: after escaping Cybertron, he's hunted down and killed by Dropkick and Shatter, He's played by Andrew Morgado.
Ratchet: The Autobots' medic is amongst the group fleeing Cybertron, with Dennis Singletary on voice duties. He was one of the core Transformers in the Michael Bay films, fighting the Decepticons for four movies until he was killed in Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Ironhide: The last of the escaping Autobots, although not with a speaking role, is Ironhide. Another of the main Bay Transformers, he was killed in Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Decepticons In Bumblebee's Cybertron Sequence

Hot on the Autobots' heels as they flee Cybertron are the Decepticons. There's no G1 Megatron in Bumblebee due to him being frozen in the Hoover Dam when the movie takes place, but there's some familiar support in his stead.

Shockwave: Leading the charge against the Autobots is Shockwave, a Decepticon scientist and commander of a special task group. Shockwave was long part of Transformers movie plans, eventually appearing in Transformers: Dark of the Moon (and serving as the model for Two-Heads in Age of Extinction). He is voiced by Honest Trailers' Jon Bailey.
Soundwave: The cassette player Transformer, Soundwave challenges Optimus Prime after the evacuation. This is a more cartoon accurate depiction of the communications expert, who spent most of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon monitoring satellites. He's also voiced by Bailey.
Ravage: Bursting out of Soundwave's chest, Ravage is one of several "cassette tape" animals, used here to attack Optimus. He was previously in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, again as an agent of Soundwave, and was used posthumously as a weapon by Bumblebee.
Starscream: While Megatron doesn't appear in Bumblebee, his snivelling second-in-command appears to be; the Decepticon who attacks Optimus Prime after B-127 leaves Cybertron appears to be the jet, looking more G1 accurate than in Bay's original Transformers trilogy.
Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet: These three aren't confirmed by name, but there are three conehead Seekers in Shockwave's squadron (so-nicknamed for their upward-facing plane nose), who are likely the trio from the 1980s toy line.

There are lot more Decepticons in Bumblebee's opening sequence, but most are not discernable as any particular Transformer. We'll update as any more are revealed.
