Vegas Movie 16 - Great Video Editor At A Great Price

The media could not be loaded.

Compared to some of the other Video Editors on the market, Vegas Movie 16 is a really great price for the value.
Software was easy to install right out of the package and allowed me to update right away.
The software has lots of options when it comes to editing your video to your liking and style.
As with any software, there will be a learning curve involved, but everything is pretty straight-forward and I did not feel overwhelmed by the different options available.
There is a 6 step process outline that you can follow which means that even a beginner who is new to using video editors should have no problem getting their first video created.
I would definitely recommend Vegas Movie Studio 16 for beginners or someone who just wants to make nice looking videos.
I look forward to testing the software more as I start to make travel videos in the near future!

PROGRAM HAS SO MANY GLITCHES, BLACKOUTS, FREEZES AND FLICKER ANOMALIES, NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT

I would give this a zero or a negative -1 star if I could. I thought this would be at least as good as the freebie version of Windows Movie Maker. I got the regular studio 16 (not Pro) version and it installed okay. But immediately, I started having problems with it blacking out my video clips. Also, it would freeze and there is the annoying issue of when you open up the program, it will not let you close it unless you save something even if you haven't done anything. It requires you to save a file which you didn't do anything in. It also randomly won't play the sound, randomly decides when to freeze. It randomly and annoyingly flickers after you've made the video.

When importing video clips, even if I import them in very small batches (not large files by today's standards), it will load them up and then drop them into the time line often times out of order. It will drop them in the timeline the moment you drop them into your video library and you don't have a choice. But sometimes on the timeline, they are out of order (not sequential to their video number) and it is a pain to try and watch everything and pick out the clips that are blacked out and pick out the ones that are out of order in the time line.

Even if I drop the video clip in from the computer it still won't play. It goes black. So I have to go back to my camera, take the original footage and upload it again and drop it into the movie studio program again and seam it together. This usually works but it is extra time and energy I shouldn't have to do. Also, after you produce and make a movie, the final movie will sometimes have flickering which means you have to go back and find the clip and load it from the original video from the camera. All of this takes a lot of unnecessary time and energy. And also, even after having done that several times, I am still getting flickering, or blinking, as they call it. I've searched everywhere on their website and in their forums. One suggestion was to change the setting on the acceleration card (for gaming) which I don't have. Still nothing helped.

This has become labor intensive. My videos are very very simple. Just "how to" videos without anything fancy. Its not like I'm making a complex movie. At most, I have a title layer, a video layer, a music layer, and sometimes a narrative layer. The non-pro version should be able to handle this.

I addition, it keeps giving me a "upgrade to Pro" push, even after I check the box that says "Do not show me this again." It ignores it's own checkmark and shoves the ad in front of me every time I open the program.

All together, I'm disappointed with this program. From what I understand the help support is pretty dreadful. I tried to contact the Vegas company and got no reply online on their website. When I try to get customer support on their website I get (copied directly from their website here below):'

This package was delivered to my neighbor's house, but she was very friendly and luckily returned it. This is the first time an Amazon package I have ordered has been delivered to the wrong address that I know of.

As for the actual product, the product is great! There are so many different features! I create a lot of Youtube videos and I like that there is an option to direct share to Amazon. It also includes a music maker, which I haven't had the opportunity to try out yet, but I am looking forward to using it. This item easy to use.

i tried this, the old platinum 11 is no longer available. and i needed another copy for my new win10

The movie maker, if the window isnt fully maximized panes disappear.

adding media, in plat 11 would patiently wait in the media pane until i dragged it to a video track.
in this version adding media automatically loads it onto the video track. deleting it from track, deletes it from the media window. i can't drag one at a time in the order i want it.

wasted my whole weekend on it.

it forced me to make a login at magix website.

I have almost no experience with video editing, so there is that. But, when I tried to clip and save a portion of an existing video the program wanted to begin its work by "rendering". After 20 hours of rendering I finally stopped it. It said I would lose everything, which did not seem to be true because it wanted to save the project, which I did. Then when I reopened it trying to save a clip, the resulting window would not close. Even the program itself would not close. I have had to restart the computer to every time I got that window. I marked a starting point and an ending point for my clip, but see no way to save the clip. Maybe the clip is saved, but I see no way to play it. This video software is total frustration.

Useless. Been trying to install this for the past 3 hours on windows 10. The music maker install was no problem. The movie studio will not install. Keeps coming up as an error. Support isn't opened yet but by what I've read on other reviews I'm not going to get any help there either. UPDATE.....Tried to return but time expired 1 month after receiving. So I just wasted good money on this program. 50/50 chance this program will work for you. I took the gamble and lost.

Having used Vegas movie studio11 for several years I decided to update my software as this version supports the latest phone formats. Had no problem installing the software but the program didn’t seem to behave as per the tutorials. No option to burn movie to dvd or blu-Ray which was primarily what I wanted to do with my finished movies. I did manage to render a movie to my hard drive & it took 15 hours to render a 1 hour video. The customer support is non - existent & when trying to contact via supposedly free email support for a year I got the message that the latest product I registered was no longer supported & I needed to pay for support. £9.99 for each call \ email seems excessively high. Will not buy any of Magix products again , now looking for an alternative.
