LATEST FORECAST Seattle, WA

This morning is filled with rain showers swirling in around low pressure that will weaken over us today giving a gradual decrease of rain in the afternoon and evening. Cloudy skies should give way to sunbreaks along with dry breaks through the afternoon. High temperatures will be in the upper 50s to low 60s which is warmer than yesterday.

Record rain yesterday! Olympia rainfall was 0.88", breaking the 1986 amount 0.68". Hoquiam rainfall was 1.11", breaking the 2012 amount 0.99". Bellingham rainfall was missing", most likely breaking the1977 amount 0.39". I say that because through the noon hour Thursday, Bellingham was a few hundredths of an inch away from tying the record and it continued to rain in the afternoon. It isn't official like the other 2.

Today, Friday, April 26, has cloudy skies and rain showers this morning. This afternoon showers decrease, and we'll get more sunbreaks, and the dry periods in-between showers will get longer! We stay inside a cool upper trough through early next week which will keep several rounds of showers rolling through at times. Temperatures will be below the normal of 62 each day, in the 50s, except for today which gets close to 60.

This weekend is opening day of lowland lake fishing!!! Saturday will have cloudy skies and rain showers around in the morning; lows mid to upper 40s. Wind will be from the south/southwest about 10-15mph, a bit of a breeze there if you’re using a small boat. Expect rain showers to increase through the day, wind fairly steady 10-15mph, highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Sunday cloudy skies begin the morning with a few showers; rain showers significantly increase in the afternoon through evening with mostly cloudy skies allowing some sunbreaks. Highs upper 40s to lower 50s. The afternoon brings potential of thunderstorms along the coast and also in the Cascades Sunday; be ready with a watchful eye to act fast if you are around these areas after noon.

The risk of thunderstorms will continue for the coast and Cascades Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday, thunderstorms may develop anywhere in western Washington including across the lowlands and Puget Sound. Each day brings increasing showers, especially in the afternoon, that may include graupel or snow pellets as cooler air crashes down. Highs will be in the upper 40s to low 50s.
