A wonderful pub for lunch or dinner. The menu is diverse. My favourites are the Scotch egg and the steak pie. The food is consistently good. The ambiance is lovely inside and out. Service is always good. High standard Covid protocol.

This was our second time visiting the pub and we will be back. Put it on your list of must do's if you haven't been before. Food, atmosphere, service is all exceptional.

We showed up early on a Friday (by chance) and were glad we did. The line up for 11:00am opening started at 10:40, and for good reason. The food is fresh, generous and tasty. We enjoyed outdoor seating in a lovely garden area. Did go...inside to use facilities..clean and a typical pub interior. Highly recommend the smoked salmon chowder and the shrimp sandwich, but am pretty sure everything would be great. Careful and conscientious servers doing their best with Covid restrictions.More

Great little spot with well tended gardens and pond, with a pub that is as authenticity British as you can get! Food is not exactly British fare, but still enjoyable home-cooked flavours with very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.

Our Sundays are a means to see more and learn more about where we live. Don and I have been here about 4 years now and we are taking Kelly round to show her what the area has to offer. Guess what? We are learning...as well. Sunday we got a few really pleasant surprises. One of them was this pub. OMG! It is so beautiful, the look of the building, adjoining home, gardens, are really old English style. We ate inside as there was a long wait list to eat outside in the gardens and were blessed with a wonderful server, Amber. This young lady had great patience and explained the different dishes to us, what were favourite with the clients, explaining anything we asked her about and it was so appreciated. We each ordered a beverage and then the fun began. We all ordered something different. Don ordered the Scotch Eggs and it comes with two sides: he ordered the cup of soup and a garden salad. Kelly ordered the Beef Dip and it came with two sides: she ordered the potato salad and green salad. I, on the other hand, ordered the Crow and Gate Cheeseburger sans the onion. Guess what? It came with two sides. I ordered the green salad and oven baked baby potatoes. YUM! My only thing was the spice in the sauce on my burger. My lips felt like they were so swollen and stinging. The burger was, itself, very good and the potatoes were better than fries. Kelly’s beef Dip was about 3 inches high with beautiful, thinly sliced meat. The potato salad tasted only of mustard and was about 2 tablespoons worth in size. All in all, it was really nice and, again, I can’t stop raving on how beautiful this establishment is and certainly well received by the public. I know we will return. Thank you, this was a lovely surprise.More

Holy chocolate baileys cheesecake. We order take out meals for six seafood soup, caesars salad, French dip, oyster po boy, and bratwurst. This meal was absolutely delicious. After seeing the pub we wished we could have stayed and eaten in. If you want a great...meal with a couple of pints this is the place to go. My British Son in Law. Said the pub was as legit as it get. Great food great experience.More

Went for a drink and light super. Great meals. Good service. We’re seated indoors but moved us outside when a table became available. Had good Covid-19 policy felt very comfortable there. Good sized portions-No room for dessert!

The long wooden tables are English style.......and you can eat outside on the picnic tables or go inside. There is usually a lineup here. Beautiful gardens. The menu seems to be a reduced menu during these COVID times.....and I was surprised there were no dishes...with Yorkshire pudding. A little disappointed. But they did have the traditional English Steak and Mushroom Pie....which, compared to the English pub in Ladysmith, was a bit disappointing. The beef was dry and not that flavourful. On the other hand, the Oyster Po Boy was wonderful, and our friend loved her Crab Cakes. The hilight for all of us was their salmon chowder. It's not the thick full of salmon style, but a thinner broth that was perfectly spiced to bring out the salmon and the smoked salmon taste. The size of the cup was pretty tiny (a small teacup)....and we all wished we'd ordered a bowl. The caesar salad side was very good....a nice dressing (although maybe a bit too much), as was the regular salad. The roast potatoes tasted more boiled than roasted (but hey, that's probably authentic English). We also really liked the cheesecake that the 3 of us split for dessert and our server kindly split it for us. Great service, by the way.More

We ordered steak and mushroom pie for a take out meal. When we opened it we thought we had the wrong order it looked like soup. The pastry was a limp disk in a separate package. The pie content was pale, more like a thinking...chicken soup served in a soup container We went back thinking we had the wrong order but no apparently that’s how they serve it for take away. Quite honestly not good enough. Very poor value.More

It is adult only and I do believe it is walker friendly.. The parking lot is level and the entrance to the pub is along an attractive pathway which is level.

I believe there is a side door with a ramp as I have seen wheelchairs in the restaurant.
