The area
Neighborhood: Robson Street
Robson Street is a shopper's paradise. Whether a window shopper or a serious trendsetter, a fashionista or a dabbler, the crowd of independent boutiques, quirky one-off shops, and well-known luxury brands on Robson Street have something to cater for every itch in your wallet. As a result, it draws a diverse crowd, and the people-watching along this famous walking thoroughfare is a primary attraction. In between the clothing shops both high-street and budget-friendly are a number of cafes to lay down your load, as well as numerous specialty stores ranging in their wares from music, to art, to city souvenirs. Known as "Vancouver's Runway," if a new trend is on the rise, you'd spot it here first.

Great service, but not happy about the day tickeet.
We used this to get from the airport to the central metro station. Clean, comfortable and reasonably good value for money. My only quibble, the day ticket ends at 23:59 on the day of purchase, not like others I have used when they expire 24 hours after first use. Shame really as a good service.

    Quick and economical transportation option
Used the Canada Line to travel from Waterfront Station (near Canada Place) to Vancouver International Airport. The one way fare was approximately $6 CAD for two adults and took less than 25 minutes. The taxi fare for a similar route is approximately $38 plus tip. We had 3 pieces of luggage plus 3 backpacks between the two of us and had no issues. I’d highly recommend this as an option to travel to/from YVR to Downtown Vancouver.

A clean quick way out of airport
This may have been the best way out of the airport to downtown Vancouver. Thanks to Rob! I was worried about pulling luggage on a public rail system. But I found many people were doing it so it was normal. The train was almost relaxing. The hardest part may have been getting your ticket at a Kiosk. Everyone seemed to have a problem with it. And act quick when you get on with your luggage as it can get in the way. Luckily we were in the front of the driverless train and had a good view and lots of seating in our space. We got off downtown, not sure if we could have transferred to another system to get to the Hyatt on Burrard so we decided to walk from there. A bit gruelling up hill so look carefully on where you should get aff for your downtown hotel. Some may need an uber?

Too small. It should have been twice the length of cars, maybe three times, stations at least twice as big, mebbe more. But there you go, politics. It is already over-capacity at rush hour, with thousands of condos being added in Richmond and along the Cambie corridor....but it's a train. It gets you places. You don't have to drive. There you go.

It was so easy to get downtown from the Airport on the Canada Line. Reasonably priced, though more help with the purchasing of tickets (especially during the day) would be beneficial. For instance, it’s not clear that children under 12 are free to ride with a paying adult fare, yet on the machines it seems that you have to pay a fare. I talked to an employee by phone to figure this out. Also, Compass Card fares can only be used by one person, not two. I made that mistake. The trains were clean and everything ran smoothly the four times I used the Canada Line.

We hopped on the Canada Line at the Vancouver International Airport and went to the waterfront station in downtown Vancouver. It was simple, easy and an inexpensive way to avoid the traffic and delays of a major city. The station was only a couple blocks from the Exchange Hotel where we stayed. Would definitely recommend.

When heading from downtown to the airport this is the best, and most economical way to get there. It has room for luggage and even if you have to stand the ride is comfortable. Yes it can be busy at times, but during those same times the traffic on the highways is far worse. They run frequently so don’t run. There are two options: one train terminates at Bridgeport(this is the stop for buses to the ferry) while the other has a final stop at YVR. If you intend on going to YVR and catch the Bridgeport....simply get off and wait at any station for the right train. While going to Vancouver, the final stop is waterfront..

The Canada Line makes transportation between the airport and downtown Vancouver easy. The half near the airport is above ground and gives a nice view. The downtown half is underground. Fares are reasonable, though you have to pay $5 additional if you board at the airport station.

Very cheap especially if you buy the 90 minute ticket which allows you to travel on this, buses, and the Seabus. We took the Expo Line from the main station out to the University. Great views along the Fraser River, of the Expo Centre and the suburbs. The new trains are driverless so if you are at the front you get a driver's eye view

Used the train to go from the airport to our hotel and then 3 days later back to the airport to pick up our hire car.
The cost was great and got us into down town Vancouver with mo problems. The main downside was finding the best station to alight and then to embark from our hotel .

Boarded the train at the main station across the street from our hotel. Purchased the ticket from a machine at the station with a bit of help from a local resident. Trip was fast and cars were clean and neat. $6 for a senior ticket.
