  • World Circus Day – because today is the third Saturday in March.
  • Trail of Coffee – a coffee-themed affair at the Pipe Shop in North Vancouver’s Shipyards District. The event features presentations, workshops, tastings, a trade show and latte art contest during the afternoon. In the evening there is a mixology show, live music and cocktails.   • Pacific Arts Market Events – today at the gallery and art gift store on West Broadway there is the Beautiful BC Art Fair as well as a Parent’s Night Out event.

  • Polish-Gujarati Friendship Meeting – a Polish-Indian cultural event hosted by the Polish Veterans Association in Vancouver.
  • Coast City Country Festival – a new country music festival at BC Place Stadium and the Commodore Ballroom.
  • Mozart Requiem – a concert at the New Westminster Christian Reformed Church featuring a professional orchestra with the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra and two choirs.
  • Surrey Vaisakhi Parade – Punjabi New Year celebrations beginning by the Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar Temple in Surrey. As many as 300,000 people attend!
  • 420 Vancouver – an annual protest and celebratory gathering at Sunset Beach Park of people who like to smoke marijuana. It attracts thousands and is either an event you’ll want to stay away from or go see out of curiosity and the interesting smells. (TBC)
  • BrickCan LEGO Exhibition – LEGO exhibits are on display at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond.

Earth Day Events

  • Earth Day at VMM and Other Museums – the Land, Sea, Sky event at Vanier Park features special activities at the Vancouver Maritime Museum (VMM), Museum of Vancouver and H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. (NOTE: Admission to VMM and MOV is by donation today.)
  • Earth Day Events – although Earth Day is officially on April 22nd, Earth Day-related events happen today in New Westminster, Stanley Park, Vanier Park, North Vancouver, Langley, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack and other communities.

  • NACAC International Universities Fair – an event for anyone wanting to learn about post-secondary educational opportunities at over 100 universities from around the world. It takes place at the Vancouver Convention Centre and admission is free for students and their families.
