The first time my family and I decided to go to the cactus club, I was unsure as most people might be. I mean, TV's in the bathroom? Kinda weird. I also thought, (me being a picky 12 year old girl) what if the food...was TOO fancy for my taste? Some other new-restaurant experiences were almost too modern and pretty, which usually is a good thing, but as other children know, we like plain and good tasting things. So anyways, I noticed right away that they're was a bunch of servers who looked around 15-30, all with smiling faces. (This was before COVID-19, in case you were worrying.) They were all very welcoming and kind towards my family and I, and quickly we were seated. Another fun aspect is that my waitresses name was Zoe, as well as mine! AND it was my birthday! So cool, I loved it. She was so sweet and got our orders right away. The food was delicious, fancy, pretty, and delicious. They made it so quickly, so fresh and yummy. I loved that meal. Yes the food is a little pricey, but that's the cost of fantastic food! Would recommend this to anyone ages 5+ who would love a fantastic dining restaurant!More

In my opinion, Cactus Club was a mediocre chain that has really stepped it up over the years. This location is a great example of that - prime area, sweeping harbour views and a classy, modern interior. The restaurant is huge, though window space is...limited, so views are never guaranteed. We came here for happy hour one night, which I will confess is not my favorite for variety or value in the city, but was still a decent deal. We did score a window seat, and the setting sun panorama was stellar. Service is always professional and top notch, and their food is good although I find it trends towards seafood lovers. There should be, however, something on the menu for everyone. Cactus Club definitely has some prime locations in the city with winning views. This is a great option if you're looking for that.More

We had a 4 course dinner included with our Rocky Mountaineer train trip that departed from Vancouver the following morning. The restaurant is located on the bay with views of the landing and departing float planes and next to the Olympic Flame (remnant of the...2010 Olympics). This large restaurant had some excellent views. The food that came with the tour was amazing - a green salad with a vinaigrette, a butternut squash ravioli with a butter sauce (and shrimp), a main entree section (I selected a 7 oz filet and my wife selected the salmon). The final course was chocolate peanut butter crunch bar served with vanilla ice cream. The food was excellent. At times, the service could be a little slow but with the sheer number of the guests, it was understandable.More

We were given a Cactus club gift card so we thought we use it during our staycation at the Pacific Rim Hotel. We made reservations for the patio so there was no need for us to wait when the time came but for the people...without reservations during when we were there, the wait was like 1.5 hours. To me, this is just ridiculous because the food is just average as it is "chain" food and it is not worth the wait for food that is underwhelming. We had their Feenie burgers with bacon, mushroom, and cheese on a brioche bun but the beef cannot be done anything but well done because it isn't freshly made beef patties. The burger was just very ordinary. The little bowl of fries that came with it was also underwhelming. Our server was very good and efficient and like I said, I do not understand why people would wait over an hour just for very average underwhelming food at high prices when there are so many fabulous restaurants with excellent food in the same area.More

To start off we had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Service staff were not the best. Before we had a chance to review the menu a wait staff brought us some food which belonged to another table. Once we...were able to place our order again within a few minutes they again brought someone elses food. We finally received our food which was okay. We had to wave down a wait staff to request more water. A few minutes later he comes back wth a beer which we had not ordered. Again requested water which was finally brought after a wait. At no time did anyone come over and ask how our food was or if everything was ok. Staff seems poorly trained and inattentive. We will not be back.More

A decade ago Cactus Club was my favorite place to go, then I moved to Spain for 8 years. Upon returning I took my date to Cactus again and aside from being forced to wear a mask (even though I have asthma and can't wear...one) we both got sick after eating their chicken wraps. We made a complaint, as we know this is a special time in history and businesses can't afford to get bad reviews, especially since so many are closing down due to covid, and they got the whole team involved to look into it to make it seem like they took this type of thing seriously. I guess that is cool. What was not cool? They didn't offer us a gift certificate or anything. I paid $70 dollars for 2 half eaten chicken wraps and a beer that had 2 sips taken from it.More

When we arrived the hostess clearly pointed out the wait would be over one hour. Since it was a gorgeous evening we did not mind soaking up the sun while waiting. The menu had several specials and we noticed our favourite dish, the prawns and...sage butter ravioli was on the special along with a salmon entree a sushi roll special appetizer and our favourite key lime pie! We could not believe that this dinner for 2 was a special for $60 plus amazing cocktails and a fantastic patio experience! Kudos to Cactus Club on an amazing value , consistent delicious entrees and appetizers and excellent servers! On point in every way! it’s worth the wait when everything goes so well! We can’t wait to go back and soak up the summer vibes in our own city!More

Came for a late lunch/early dinner at 3:30. The bar was quite full as was the restaurant. We were given a window seat with a fabulous view of the sea plane take off area. Happy hour during the week is from 2:00 pm until 5:00...PM. For $7, I had a delicious frozen peach Bellini, in fact I had 2! My hubby had a few beers and a special drink. On the happy hour menu, We both got the 8 Oz sirloin for $23 each that came with a delicious kale salad and crisp French fries. It was almost my birthday and they gave me a special dessert. Service was excellent. We had Sonja until her shift was over and then a wonderful young man (tall and thin with longest hair). Don’t remember his name but he was charming. Very nice experience. If we lived here, we would be back but we were only in Canada for the week.More

We went to the Cactus Club for dinner twice recently, about 10 days apart. It was a bit of a mixed bag. On our first visit, we were very impressed. The food was tasty and arrived promptly, the service was friendly and efficient. Although the...background music was a bit intrusive, the quality of the food and service more than made up for it, so we rebooked on a second evening around the same time (8 pm or so). Second time round, it was a different story. As soon as we sat down, we realised that the music was so loud it would spoil the meal for us. When we commented, the waitress was very apologetic, but told us that she couldn't do anything about it (although it did mysteriously get quieter some time later). Next up, the food was tasty, but very slow to arrive. From ordering to delivery was over half an hour, and when it did eventually appear, some elements were not really hot enough. To be fair, the waitress was very apologetic when we pointed this out - she also said that other customers had also commented. She offered us free dessert as compensation, but since it was now an hour since we had sat down, we agreed only on condition that it arrived promptly. To their credit, it did, but we still left the restaurant with music ringing in our ears and a feeling of disappointment. Based on the first visit, I would recommend this place to anyone. Based on the second, avoid.More

We had a very bad experience here and would give negative stars if possible. We were minding our business seated when another guest came by from another table and stopped to socialize. We respect the Covid protocols but the wait staff was rude to come...by and warn us. A few minutes later the visitor stopped by and we were given a final warning. We didn't protest or do anything, the server who was not friendly at all during our dinner just couldn't interpret rules or be nice I guess, so we closed our tab and left no tip. Management overheard and started arguing with us, we just gave them some feedback and left. We wrote to corporate instead, suggesting they can be more customer oriented and still adhere to rules, their staff however made up stories and discriminated based on gender and race and without due process they informed us we aren't welcome there. Well, not to worry, we wouldn't go back for anything. The food wasn't even that great and the menu has gotten pretty stale lately. But it speaks to the restaurant's attitude and the corporate process if that's their response to complaints rather than improving. And we did absolutely NOTHING and left on our own after our dinner and drinks dropping a couple hundred dollars. That's proof alone that we did nothing and it was all made up after by the staff. So, I would recommend Lift or Cardero's, much better service, ambiance, and they actually know who their customers are.More

We were on a vacation in Vancouver and lots of people recommanded the Cactus Club Cafe to us. For the food, the menu is HUGE ! So you will have plenty of choice ! We ordered sushis and the spicy tofu bowl and the steak....Food was good, but not more. I would not go there for a special occasion. What really surprised us was the service. During our trip, we were amazed by the quality of service and friendliness of staff in the food scene of Vancouver. At the Cactus Club, it was the opposite. Our server's name was Rachael. She barely looked at us and talked to us, even to a point of behind really uncomfortable... At the end, she literally put the bill on the table in a really frustrated way and it was so weird that my husband asked her if everything was ok. Anyway, was not a fun experience. Not planning on going back.More

Everything about this place seemed anxious. Half the restaurant was empty (I suppose because COVID) but there was little social distancing. There was a complicated double waiting-line system being managed by several different people and it was difficult to figure out what one was supposed...to do. We were told to expect a 30-minute wait. It was more like 15. After being escorted to a table we were told that we had two hours to eat and then would be kicked out. I found that rather off-putting. Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived quickly. The burgers were better than average, and the service friendly and efficient. C$50.30 for two burgers and a beer. Nothing special.More

Walked in to Coal Harbour cactus club in Vancouver and they were less than 20% full and they would not seat me. They were not available to book on open table, nor would they accept a reservation by phone. I was only one person and...the explanation I got was that they did not have enough severs available, the next shift was coming in 10 minutes but they would not seat me and serve me water while I waited. On top of that they would not accept cash. I get that we are all dealing with covid but as an avid restaurant supporter - they have lost my support forever. Get your act together cactus club!More
