I am looking for a hotel downtown or close to Pier that has free airport shuttle and possibly pier shuttle. Does anyone know of any? Thanks in advance

Hi there are no shuttles from the airport to downtown Vancouver, it is 25 minutes on the Canada Line subway to Waterfront Station, then a 300 metre walk to Canada Place cruise ship terminal. Cabs and Uber are available. Cabs are a flat rate of $36.

For a local shuttle around downtown, the Hampton Inn, Landis, Days Inn by Wyndam Hotels have shuttles. Downtown is very compact, about 2.5 km2, so any hotel + an $18-20 cab ride from the farthest corner of downtown to the cruise ship terminal is what you would be looking at.

Border is closed, large cruise ships are not allowed. Personally, Inwould stick to research until there is confirmation that the situation has changed. I took Oct 2021 in the pool.

Totally agree V67 - although October is not the prime time for Alaskan cruises :-)

This question is a good reminder to check soon what Canada will do with the current ban on large cruise ships, effective to October 31, 2020. The ban applies to cruise ships with more than 100 people, including passengers and crew. If the OP is planning a cruise on a small ship, no problem. Otherwise, with the current COVID numbers having surged here and the US numbers out of control, the possibility of cruising to Alaska in 2021 is unknown at the moment.

I decided to go ahead and continue my booking and plans for our trip next September 2021. Flights just came available and with the flexibility with most airlines now to change or cancel we decided to go forward .I’ve always been one to say better to have then have not . I booked my hotel a couple weeks ago and was glad that I did there wasn’t a lot of options using my points. We will be happy with the Sheraton but would like to stay at the Marriott again and will continue to look to see if something changes.

I just pray everything looks much better for everybody by the middle of next year!!

And to the original poster we have taken the transportation Canada line from the airport to the pier area and it was very easy.

Well it's good to see some optimism on the board-personally I'm still booking trips but they're all local.

We have done several local trips this year, but I'm not booking too far out. I'm researching and planning and staying hopeful, but after the chaos and fall out of cancelling our trip last May, I am sticking with a cautious approach and a short term outlook for now. And I'm not even looking at international trips right now.

But everyone has a different level of concern and risk and I think we all need to be able to look forward to getting back to normal. Planning is a bright light to keep is going.

To the actual question - the Pan Pacific hotel is at the Pier and the Fairmont Waterfront is across the street. So if you stay there you don't need a 'pier shuttle'. With luggage, etc, sometimes a $36 cab is the easiest way. I have done both Canadaline and cab. With multiple people and bags, a cab is a no-brainer.
