I added this to my smart TV to watch "The Sinner" - the streaming was flawless, the image and sound quality were excellent, and happily most of the content that is available from my cable provider in their OnDemand section is also available in the USA app - but I like having a standalone app rather than having to go into the cable-box menu! The user interface is very similar to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, so its familiar and easy to use.

Want to see the latest episode of SUITS or THE PURGE and don't have access to On Demand? As long as you pay for this station on cable or satellite, you can see the past five or six episodes of their series, usually the day after they air (and sometimes before they air!). USA is the only cable station that I really like, but this app doesn't offer live streaming. But as a way of seeing past episodes (but not the entire season) of their series, this app is a must-have!

As far as streaming apps go, this is one of the poorest on the market. Sure, we all understand that you make your money by forcing us to watch advertisements, and most of us are okay with that. But this app makes rewinding IMPOSSIBLE. If you miss what a character says or if you fall asleep and then want to go back and watch the scene that you missed, this app WILL NOT ALLOW IT. It simply replays the ads over and over again, without ever allowing you to actually rewind and see the content. Or, if you’ve already seen an episode, but you want to watch part of it again, you cannot fast forward easily. Again, it makes you watch ads on top of ads, and randomly puts you ahead somewhere in the episode. If it’s not where you wanted to go, too bad. You now have to watch another 2 minutes of ads before you can do anything else, and then you must try to fast forward again. Went to far and missed the scene? That’s ashame, because when you hit rewind, all you get is more ads and no way to actually go backward to earlier content. Unless you are willing to watch episodes in a straight line forward, without ever missing a line or a scene, and unless you’re okay with having absolutely no control over rewind and fast forward, then this app will make watching any USA shows an absolute nightmare that just isn’t worth the frustration. It simply doesn’t have to be this way. Lots of streaming apps (PBS, Lifetime, NBC, etc.) give viewers more control over watching the content, and they still do it while making you watch all of their advertisements. So, it can be done. USA just doesn’t seem to know how to do anything with their app except force you to watch and rewatch advertisements while you cross your fingers that you might also get to see some of the entertainment.

When I lost access to USA for nearly a week with a cable company snafu I was able to watch my shows live using this app on my fire TV Cube (original). I was able to catch show’s I’d missed on-demand through the app too. It was kind of a lifesaver for me as I often have USA on in the background in the evenings. That makes me like this app a lot.

I have cable TV and I’ve not “cut the cord”. USA is included in my cable package. The current version of the app REQUIRES sign-in with an active cable subscription that includes USA. That will probably upset cord cutters a lot.

This app does put ads into the live stream and they seem to match the amount as watching live on cable. I did not use the on-demand options much but I didn’t feel the viewing previously aired shows made me watch more ad time.

Navigation and usability on FireTV is well done. I found the app to be polished and reliable. Streaming quality has been excellent, as good as the same shows delivered through my cable video signal.

While not a problem for me I feel I can’t give this app 5 stars because of the cable TV login required. But since this review is about my experience with it I am giving it 4 stars. It met all my needs.

downloaded this app to watch "Chucky" and it was not the best experience. the interface is fine if not sort of clunky, sign in was fine, the offereings of shows are as expected. the issue for me was the consistency. i was constantly being dropped from my show and kicked back to the main menu without my progress being saved. worked about 50% of the time on my regular fire stick, but on my fire tv stick lite, it would always drop the show right after it would start. i have not encountered this problem with any other streaming app.

i have to add, that it would always play commercials without issue, regardless of which fire stick i was viewing on. i find that very fishy.

My schedule does not allow me to view some of my favorite programming at their scheduled times, so having the ability to stream episodes at my convenience is a blessing. USA Network linked easily to my Fire TV box and its programming streams flawlessly. Thank You, Amazon Prime!
P.S.: I just wish AMC would get their act together and design an App that is compatible with Fire TV. After multiple attempts and MUCH (too much) time wasted, I finally gave up trying to link AMC to my Fire TV box

Not strictly necessary if you have cable/satellite or a cord-cutter subscription....but it does give you faster access if you just missed the latest episode of your favorite USA show, as the app will make it available for on-demand viewing sooner than the subscription services will (usually, about 24 hrs). The interface is clean and works without glitches, so it's easier to navigate. And it will let you sign up if you have Sling--not all of the network apps will do that.
