Sia has legally filed to change her name following her marriage last year.

The chart-topping singer, 48, tied the knot with Dan Bernard in Portofino, Italy last May in a surprise ceremony at Dolce & Gabbana’s Villa Olivetta, attended by just four guests.

It’s unknown exactly how long the couple had been together prior to the ceremony, but they attended the premiere of Stephen Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story back in December 2021.

Now, just days shy of their first wedding anniversary, the Cheap Thrills songstress has filed to change her name from ‘Sia Furler’ to ‘Sia Bernard’, according to court documents seen by TMZ.

The Aussie star is most commonly known by her real first name at birth, Sia, as well as her habit of obscuring her face under a giant blonde wig, often decorated with an oversized bow.

She was previously married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang from 2014 until 2016.

Sia, who identifies as bisexual, later revealed that she had ‘decided to be single for the rest of my life’ to GQ in 2020, following their divorce.

Last year, she shared the severe impact their split had had on her mental health, as she mourned the end of their marriage and found it ‘really hard to get out of bed’.

‘[When] I got divorced, that really threw me for a loop. That was such a dark time that I was in bed for three years, really, really severely depressed,’ she said, speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1. ‘And so I couldn’t really do anything for that period of time.’

Sia was, however, slowly able to work on her new album, Reasonable Woman, composing ‘little bits and pieces here and there’.

In 2019, she legally adopted two 18-year-old boys who were aged out of the foster care system, whose names and identities she has kept private.

In 2020, she then became a grandmother aged 44 after one of her sons welcomed two children, joking that she was ‘immediately horrified’ before revealing she was trying to get the babies to call her ‘Lovey’, like Kris Jenner, and not Nana.

At the end of last year, the musical artist was also frank about having undergone liposuction after gaining weight due to medication she was taking.

The Chandelier hitmaker, who also underwent a face lift in October, insisted she didn’t want to fool anyone into thinking she slimmed down due to diet and exercise.

In a post on X at the time she explained: ‘Had to take a medication that made me put on a lot of weight that I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today.

‘Please know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again … that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise.’

Sia went on to reveal she opted for the procedure because she’s been battling anxiety and ‘confidence issues’ stemming from her appearance.

She added: ‘I want to be truthful about all of my procedures so I don’t contribute to the system that tells us we aren’t enough.

‘I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I’ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues. Pray for me please! … I love you, keep going!’
