My initial experience at USM was challenging. The culture shock, academic rigor, and feeling of falling behind in classes were overwhelming. Transitioning from being a top student to feeling outpaced was disheartening. Yet, this discomfort prompted me to seek help from teachers, despite my initial fear of being perceived as less capable. But, what I came to appreciate most about USM was the genuine support and dedication of the teachers and they have left a lasting impact on me. I admire their commitment to student success.

Review University School of Milwaukee

Since my transfer to the University School of Milwaukee in third grade, this school has provided me with the best resources available and prepared me for the full college experience. With its balance of general and rigorous classes, I have developed studying and learning habits that will benefit me in college. The small class sizes at USM have also taught me that it is important to contribute thoughts and insights during every class to ensure comprehension of class materials. Furthermore, teambuilding and teamwork have been a staple of my USM experience inside and outside the classroom. Whether it's working with classmates in chemistry or with my teammates out on the lacrosse field, every aspect of USM implements a strong sense of teamwork. Some of the best parts of my USM experience were getting to meet new students and teammates every year, school dances and events, hockey or lacrosse team road trips, and the overall sense of community that is held at USM.

It is very welcoming! There is always something to do in our community, wether in the dorms or on campus somewhere. I feel very involved in the environment around me.
