Advice in the coming few years Advice in the coming few years
USask Q&A

Hello, I am a Computer Engineering Student in the University of Saskatchewan. I heard that a degree has a maximum number of 10 years to complete (I started in 2019 where this was in place). I have gotten an academic warning once when I didn't reach the average in 2021-22, and then again in 2022-23 when I failed a second time. I had to take a break according to the criteria of academic standing and have taken a program in NAIT in Computer Engineering Technology in the meantime. I was originally planning to get the transfer credit so that I could complete it in 1 year, but apparently some complications occured and that wasn't possible. I also realized just how difficult it would be and it seems like it would take longer to complete my diploma at NAIT before coming back, which would only complicate my situation here in USask. Now I am kind of stuck in an awkward position and am not sure what to really do. Can someone give me advice here?

Room Selection Room Selection

I know there are a lot of questions about residence right now, but I really want to ask something.

During room selection, are we only shown the options we put on our "most like" options or every option available for the type of application, I.e. say I wanted a single room but they only had double rooms in a different building, would I have that option or only the single room and I would just not be able to live in residence?

If it doesn't make sense just let me know and I'll try and clarify lol.

Urgent Advice Needed: Should I email my prof? Urgent Advice Needed: Should I email my prof?
Course Discussion

Hi yall I am pretty sure I failed my 60% final. I had a lot going on and had exams leading up to the day of this exam. I am in another class for this prof too where I feel like I did much better and actually reflective of my academic ability. But 300 level CPPS courses are very rough.

I am also graduating soon and I am very nervous if I failed. Would it be okay if I just email the prof rn and ask if there is something i can do?

I really did try but this course is very difficult and with other classes being all 400 levels, I really had to prioritize them a bit more.

Any "Easy" Summer Classes? Any "Easy" Summer Classes?

I'm planning on taking possibly 3 summer classes that doesn't require too much effort so I can somewhat balance the classes.

So far, i'm thinking of taking Soc 112, Mus 101, and Eng 114. Any recommendations on what classes I should and shouldn't take? If it helps, i'm a first year, going into second year in the fall term of biomed sciences.

Also, wondering if I take these summer classes, will it be calculated into my 2nd year avg or no? Quite clueless with these type of stuff

Course Discussion

The first day of our placement is like a week and a half away, and I still don't know where I am going to be teaching. I was just curious if anyone else has been given their placement information yet. I've been apprehensive to message the college about it because they sent out that email basically telling everyone to quiet down and be patient.

Questions for those in Biomedical Science Questions for those in Biomedical Science

Hello! Im currently deciding what program to apply for and Biomedical Science is one of my top options. I'm having a hard time deciding one to pursue at the moment.

For those in it, how are you liking it? What are the pros, and cons of it? Your favorite classes, and what you think about it as a whole? Possibly career options you're considering. And any other opinions and thoughts. Thank you!

Looking For A Summer Sublet Looking For A Summer Sublet

Hi there!

I've just accepted a position working in Saskatchewan this summer running some outdoor and environmental education programming which I'm very excited about. I'm moving quickly to sort out my accommodations now but not finding a ton of good options and hoping I might be able to find some help here from anyone still looking to sublet for the summer

  • May 1st to July 31st with potential to August 31st.

  • Ideally a studio space/basement/cheap apartment.

  • Cooking area (with some kind of stovetop, fridge, and sink, not just a microwave.)

  • Bathroom with shower.

Thanks for any help!
