Library opening hours over Christmas vacation 2023/24

Changes are in place for Library opening hours from Saturday, 16 December 2023 until Tuesday, 2 January 2024

There will be reduced hours for Main Library from Saturday, 16 December 2023 to Thursday, 21 December 2023 .

Monday to Thursday 8am–8pm
Saturday & Sunday 9am-5pm

The Main Library and other Library sites will be closed from Friday, 22 December 2023 until Tuesday, 2 January 2024. The AGLC will remain open (see opening hours below).

Saturday, 16 December 2023 to Thursday, 21 December 2023*

Monday to Friday 8am-8pm
Saturday & Sunday – 9am-5pm

*The AGLC will be staffed by a security team from Friday, 22 December 2023 to Sunday, 24 December 2023.

Closed Monday, 25 December 2023 and Tuesday, 26 December 2023.

Wednesday, 27 December 2023 to Monday, 1 January 2024*

Monday to Friday - 8am-8pm
Saturday & Sunday – 9am-5pm

*The AGLC will be staffed by a security team on these dates.

Library Chat

Library Chat will be available 24/7 during the vacation, except 25-26 December. It will be staffed by third-party partner institutions.

The John Rylands Research Institute and Library

The John Rylands Research Institute and Library will be closed from Friday, 22 December 2023 and will reopen on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

Reader Services will close at 5pm on Thursday, 21 December 2023.
